I loved you in the frighteners, got my mom to take me to see it in the theater, love/Loved that movie. It was not what I expected from the trailer but based on the trailer I talked my mom into taking me as a minor... I had a blast. I will never forget that.
An excellent and profoundly underrated film. Jeffrey Combs was great and it was Michael J. Fox's best work IMO (also his last major film before being diagnosed with Parkinson's). If there was an actual "problem" with this film, it's that it was intended for a PG-13 audience but found itself burdened with an R rating.
No it wasn't it was supposed to be adult. It was rated 15
To their credit The Frighteners has become quite a cult classic in intervening years, just as a collaboration with Mr. Combs, Mr. Fox, and the legendary John Astin should be.
