Dave Bickler had to leave survivor due to nodules on his vocal cords and had surgery and could not strain his vocals, needed a year for healing, that's when survivor hired Jimi Jamison.. R.I.P Jimi ❤
I like Dave alright. He seems really cool too. Jimi was just so true and natural, effortless on most occasions! This guy isnt bad. It'd be easier for him if the band was consistent. I truly miss Jimi Jamison though!

Frankie Sullivan is an egomaniac control freak whose ego won't allow him to share any of the spotlight with the original members who wrote and performed the songs that made Survivor, well, Survivor. Everyone knows Jim Peterik was the creative genius behind this band. This incarnation is basically a mediocre Survivor tribute band that somehow got the original guitar player to sit in for the night.
This is what they do now, look at Fog Hat, it's basically a cover band meanwhile whom ever owns the name is the one making money. HELL Lynard Skynard has been basically cover band for decades. KISS plans on sending out 4 young guys when they finish up.
This guy sings flat. The keyboard player sounds like he’s using a $50 Casio. When Jimi Jamison passed away and they hired this kid before they got rid of Dave, it was all obviously calculated call to get rid of Dave gradually.

They should’ve at least lowered the key to a half step or a full step down because singing a song and its original key because it sounds like his voice is getting strained.
When you don’t have a road crew out with you making sure all the equipment works, this is what happens. That’s why smaller venues aren’t professionally recorded. Not the band’s fault. Good singer. Does a great job here.
Doesn't matter how accurate the band plays (but its far from we're watching...), Jamison had so much feeling even not hitting the highs , he made our eyes in tears always. Music is all 'bout soul, please don't ya destroy the pretty memories I have of Real Survivor Icon!

Kind of feel sorry for this singer. He's trying to fill André the Giants shoes while the band is performing like they're at a Sports bar in Omaha Nebraska. Overall I think he is a decent singer if he only had creative band mates around his age.

The weird thing is that Sullivan always looked soo innocent at all the band pictures, (at least until When Seconds Count...) - something in between schoolboy and apprentice....Well, to quote High on You... It is a cover band no doubt . No Dave , Jim , and a different bassist , and drummer . How this can be called Survivor is silly . Frankie didn't sing these songs , and play keyboards , all while he was playing guitar . 1 original member doesn't make a band .
Was at this show, somewhat disappointed overall. The kid did alright with the singing, but didn't get to do it much. Majority of the show was dominated with 10-20 minute guitar solos by Frankie Sullivan on songs I never heard of, which of itself isn't a bad thing, he's a phenomenal guitar player. But.....when that leaves Poor Man's Son, American Heartbeat, Caught In The Game, The Moment of Truth, Is This Love, and Burning Heart all being LEFT OUT of a concert, that's a very bad thing!!! Perhaps something to do with the kid's vocal range? The A La Carte show the night before was very good. Former Journey lead singer Steve Augeri and his band doing 90% all Journey classics was awesome!
I don't get why Frankie canned the original singer Dave Bickler, someone who still wanted to perform with them, for a kid that can't hit all the notes. Bickler might have lost some range, but why replace him with someone who can't do much better?

Bickler was a top singer in his prime, a unique voice (although he had lost quite a bit of range as he aged). Jimi Jamison also had a great voice, was a great frontman. Survivor lost it's soul and it's singers... it's now just Frankie's vanity project.
Those are Peterick songs. Frankie has co writer credit but maybe he’s that salty and bitter? No other reason to not play the songs your casual fans will know while butchering your signature with a guy who likely auditioned for Bobby Blotzer’s Ratt Experience.

Everyone needs some time to grow into a predecessor's shoes, and a lot of time if these shoes are big. This young fellow certainly still has to grow a lot, gain a lot of vocal power. I don't understand why the band isn't using a more experienced guy, unless the main objective is cutting expenses. Suppose that Ian Gillan would pass away all of a sudden, can you name one 21 year old who can replace him, while reaching 90-95 % of Gillan's savoir faire at the start, and 100 % after 3 years ? Or make the same reasoning with AC DC's front man. It just won't happen. Sorry Frankie, this show was quite a pale imitation, a 3rd rate cover band of the old Survivor. Adding a tattooed drummer won't make it more credible. I do understand these guys aren't young men anymore, I also take into account the recording equipment wasn't good, but hey... Even adding an experienced singer won't always work, if his voice is quite different. Think about the search of Queen for a new Mercury...
