    Ocean is a hell in winter months. This boat is much more safer than a loaded cargo ship. Cargo means stress on the hull. Huge waves can cause penetration in the cargo holds. I always tried to work between March and November. But sometimes I failed and screwed.

    Really interesting watching this.. -- QUESTION -- Rather than using your Honda gas generator, would it be better to use the alternator with your main diesel engine? I saw on Rick Moore sailing on youtube, he got a 5,000 watt alternator for his main engine which sounds really good. Is there a reason why you prefer the Honda generator?

    • @SailingAloneAcrossTheOcean
      @SailingAloneAcrossTheOcean  18 дней назад

      A better alternator would be a good idea. It costs money like most good ideas. That's what makes me reserved. The Honda generator is good as a backup for the main engine. I can still produce energy even when the main engine does not start.

      @SailingAloneAcrossTheOcean  Год назад

      Hi mike. I started this journey 2020. You find more about me on reykja.ch/en/the-author/ . I think it sails less rolly with two foresails instead of one foresail and the mainsail. I didn't experiment with the midden sail in this condition so far. Maybe it would stabilize - as one comment suggested.
