I love idlewild!! Cast your minds back to the turgid shite that passed for guitar rock music at the time these lads came along. They made me want to see live music again.
Incase anyone hasn't noticed the lyrics "Syd Barret makes me laugh" Syd was the original lead guitarist and singer of Pink Floyd. I used to think he said "I sit back it makes me laugh"
Quality like this only comes along once a decade. Glad I was there to see em. My kids have got N DUBS and all the rest of the purile shite the charts are full of to remember . You dont know what yove got till its gone.
I was at the Barrowland '05 xmas gig, where I think they played this version, I loved it. I don't know why some fans are so bothered about the newer stuff, it's so amazing all of it and it can be moulded from frenzied rock to soft ballads perfectly..not many bands can do that successfully... Met Roddy too..has anyone else? Didn't like him much, a bit rude :(

what?! Hope is Important is a brilliant album! Although there is 2 duff tracks on it but the rest is brilliant. Reckon u should pump up the volume and have another listen.
I don't know if El Capitan is their biggest song, But it beats this song, I think, but I live in Canada so I dunno... I like a whole bunch of others more than this one
These guys make peaceful music! I believe thats why they haven't went anywhere in america like maria mena but their great! Sad how america dont have great ears

Honestly just realised this!!!
Syd Barrett's debut solo album was, "The Madcap Laughs". Perhaps that's the reference.
Oh dear, I have been singing "you said that it makes me laugh" for 22 years...whoops

One of their best, good sort of punky tune to it.
So rare to find a band that are actually better live

nah definitely not comercial, i think they just had a more mature aproach after Hope Is Important, they definitely didnt sell themselves out
I don't know if El Capitan is their biggest song, But it beats this song, I think, but I live in Canada so I dunno... I like a whole bunch of others more than this one

Wow, Wayne Rooney has quite a nice voice.
Atom acustic
think youll find they are not commercial at all
Their 2 first albums were amazing. Now it has turned into commercial stuff...
Puts shitty little bands like Coldplay and the Stereophonics into their place. Good shit Roddy.

Anyone the chords?
no. this song is idlewild.
Chords anyone? All the online tabs I've ever found for an acoustic version of this song are horrifically off the mark
