I personally suspect that it isn't even that...
That it may really just be imaginary fears. And an inability to understand the actions TikTok has taken to prove that it can't be influenced by the Chinese.
      We need better quality politicians.

It being sold is just as good as it being banned since it will lose the characteristics that make Tiktok Tiktok! It will be thrown into the same category as all the other mediocre short form video platforms like Shorts and Reels.

TikTok in the US is a total American company with almost no Chinese staff because of the "national security" reasons. If they treat their staff badly that's your Americans treating your people badly and it has nothing to do with Bytedance. But how can you guys jump to this conclusion without investigation?

The bill would only get rid of the app form the app store and google play store but androids users can still download form their website and would have to download it from non American servers.also if they don’t sell it then tik tok would have to use servers outside the us.

What no one seems to be covering is that 2 US equity firms own nearly 60% of Bytedance, Blackrock and Susquehanna International Group. Susquehanna International Group owner is a very close friend and supporter of Trump.
If these 2 combined already already own majority shares in Bytedance / Tiktok, they will likely buy the rest of it when the Chinese owners are forced to sell. Making one to wonder is this about national security or about a take over using the US govt to make it happen? Wouldnt be the first time . If Susquehanna International Group gets majority shares, it could turn it into an alt right MAGA tiktok.

Define foreign companies. Are Cayman Island registered companies foreign? Nearly all oil companies are foreign, they are HQ inUAE for tax purpose. Is Bytedance really foreign? 60% owned by Americans. 3 out of 5 directors are American. BTW Bytedance is now HQ in Singapore and the two ONLY Chinese owners are now Singaporean. Don't really matter. Donor money matter the most.

Him being the CEO/President made some pretty good progress if you look back at 2016-2019. If he can make some more positive progress for the economy and get those prices down I think that would be cool. Tic Tok is one of those businesses that could use more competition. Just think of the improvements that could happen. Competition is good for improving prices and usually quality in various things so I would like to see TikTok Tok stay.
