13 minute video that could have been done in under 3 minutes. Summary of video:
1. Shampoo - use whatever will clean your scalp and hair.
2. Conditioner - coats the hair, protects it, and makes it look thicker.
3. Medicated shampoo (Nizoral) - not highly effective unless you leave it on your scalp for a minimum of 6 minutes, and even then the results are negligible, per this Dr.
Thanks much appreciated
13 minute video in 10 seconds lol
Thank you 🙏
thank u😂
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼Thank you!!
The time I faced hairfall, I followed all the following to effectively control it:
Make a habit of doing massage for your scalp into your routine.
Do not use very hot water when rinsing your hair.
Protect your hair from too much sweat.
Use a wide-toothed neem comb to brush out wet hair.
Cut down on your sugar and processed food consumption.
Use natural anti hair fall shampoo and hair oil like littleeextra cocconion.
Maintain a positive mindset for overall well-being.
Which shampoo you used?
For women this works better, but for men it does not. Our DHT levels usually require suppression meds.
This littleexttra cocoonioon has been a part of my routine for about a year now. It has worked wonders for my hair. Even where there were no hair roots, new hair started growing after 5 months. Now, almost a year later, most of my bald area is covered with new hair. I strongly recommend this oil and shampoo to everyone. Just apply it to your scalp for 20 minutes and wash it out the next day.

Agreed. 👍
You people are sad deal with it baldies
Fantastic videos explaining how so many of us who have wasted money on expensive products that do nothing. We need more honest men like you in the industry. Im a big fan of the Bald Truth as well with Spencer kobren and Joe Tillman getting the message out to the world on this industry that promises the world, but in many cases doesn't deliver the goods.
Best channel about hair loss on youtube! Thanks for providing such a systematic knowledge around the topic!
Thanks!

Just can't express in words, I have been cleared of all misconceptions and will now be starting medication after 3-4 months, as I don't wanna experiment before my Entrance Exams are over. The level of anxiety has really gone down due to these videos, love you both!

Even i'll visit derm after my entrance exams...i hope I get back my hair ❤
Your channel is the gold standard for hair related topic.
I’m 73 and have been losing hair since age 19. I was shampooing every day. A few months ago, I watched a video about how balding men have decreased circulation in their scalp, which they suggested contributed to hair loss. I then had the thought that maybe daily shampooing causes dry scalp, which causes the skin to tighten, which then causes poor circulation. So, about three months ago, I quite using shampoo altogether and just use water. My hair loss dramatically decreased and I can see new hairs growing again. I also do a vigorous scalp massage by putting the towel over my wet hair and use my fingers to massage the scalp, thus improving circulation. So far, this seems to be working. Shampoo is a relatively recent invention and for thousands of years, we just used plain old water.
This channel is the most authentic stream of Information. Love it!
Wow this is a breath of fresh air. Honesty at its finest.
Fantastic info. Thanks so much for these vids. So should you leave the conditioner in your hair or rinse it off after a few minutes?
Thanks for this video. I really appreciate this channel and all the effort put in it. Thank you very much.
Do you have any recommendation for a very oily head? I need to wash my hair everyday because it gets very oily during the night and the next day it'll look very dirty if not washed again.
This channel should be get millions subscribers... It is worthy and Greatest in information level.
Thank you so much for explaining what conditioner does. Love your channel
Love your videos thanks for sharing such informative & dispelling common perceptions... and saving us money!!
Omg you really made a video on a question I asked you about considering shampoos thank you!!!! 🤩🤩🤩
You are welcome.
I use Head and Shoulder and have for years. I have had dandruff issues but now I love it. It just works for me 👍🏼
Whats your opinion on Urea shampoo? I was on accutane a few years ago and my scalp got super itchy & dry so I used "Eucerin DermoCapillaire Calming Urea Shampoo" which worked so well for removing dead skin flakes that I still use it now, but I wonder if it's safe to use daily for hair health as my hairs a bit thinner since I started using it but that could also be blamed on the accutane side-effect.
Another excellent video , thank you very much.
Hello sir I'm from India , from my personal experience I can say , that Neem , Amla , Shikakai , Brahmi pack works wonders for Scalp Conditions like Seborrheic Dermatitis also
Thank you for this. So helpful.
This is a very likable guy!
Thanks Dr. Another good one! Question: I use hair fibers daily so I use a shampoo that thickens hair daily... Is it ok to shampoo daily due to applying fiber. And second if using lllt is not recommended to use not too long after shampooing? Thanks so much
Great info much appreciated - I'll wait well after I exit shower before rinsing out the medicated shampoo I use.
Me too. Just curious about the conditioner point that was raised. Vikram said the conditioner is probably more important. So should the conditioner be left in or rinsed out?
I am just started to watch your videos and they are very helpful and informative. Do you have a suggestion on what hair gel I should be using?
Very helpful! Thanks!
So to the point and clear. Nothing better than moving past these "magic" fixes.
Hey, What do you think of Minoxidil alternatives like nanoxidil and the other options. Might be a good topic for your channel
Make video on extreme dandruff flakes? That eat hair and one of the major reason of hair loss
Very helpful and appreciated info.
Great video thanks, Could you do one on Stemoxydine too? A topical treatment, would make for a useful and interesting video thanks guys
Stemoxydine is a pretty good treatment. Minoxidil is much stronger and will grow more hair. However, Stemoxydine works differently than Minoxidil, meaning you can use both of them for better results. Stemoxydine is also a good solution to mix RU / CB into.
So, why so many people tells that Rosemary oil is beneficial for hair loss. I’m happy to hear about your view. Thank you
It's impressive to see your attention to detail. You really put lots of thinking into covering all subjects people from the hair loss community might be interested in.
The answer why he recommended head & shoulders is really simple.
You buy it, you use it, your hair gets damaged even more and soon you have to invest in some hair products.
I used head & shoulders for years and it made my hair loss worse and worse, until I switched it out for a less aggressive shampoo.
I did the same thing...looking at all the caustic chemicals we put on our hair and and scalp. I switched over to a baby shampoo and Rosemary hair products...my hair stopped falling out. I'm turning 70 this year and still have hair on my head.
I love this channel thank you learning a lot
Would a combination of nanoxidil and dutasteride be better than minoxidil and finaateride? Also is nanoxidil really better compared to minoxidil
Thank you for the leave-it-on-for-six-minutes information!
Fantastic and informative video. Can you guys please make a video on Thyroid related hair loss?
Love this! I make RUclips videos about women's hair loss and Rogaine and I get asked this question all the time (you can click my image to the the left if you're curious.) So many empty promises out there! (Also, Head & Shoulders used to burn me too as a teen.) Glad to have found actual doctors to point my audience to.
Love your channel, such a help for people with hair loss x
The rope analogy is a nice way of putting it
can we do a video on scalp inflammation and how it relates to hair loss.
any natural ways to stop the inflammation?
Great video, so H/S is best for hair fall instead of all fancy shampoos? Can be used fearlessly. Kindly reply
That was such an interesting and well talked through VDO. I have been doing so much research online and you summarized up almost all what I discovered thus far :-).
Really great channel and truth spoken, thx Doc.
Thank you!
Could you talk about topical antiandrogens and maybe SARMS?
Hi doctor, hope you're well, what is your opinion in regards to using 0.2mg finasteride 5 times per week? Will it be effective? I have diffuse thinning but all my follicles are present so it's near impossible to notice my hair loss
I do think when you get to that dose, the efficacy drops off and you have to question the benefit of actually taking it. That said, I do have patients that can only tolerate a small amount, but they are few and far between.
to keep the hair from drying out, how often should you shampoo in general a week?
Once or twice a week, no more
Thoughts on rinsing green tea through hair - antioxidant function to reduce inflammation and therefore shedding? Any merit behind this, or the underlying principle?
How many times a day/week should you shampoo and condition your hair? Also if your exercising, does not showering causes hair loss and skin problems?
Regarding the 3 times a week schedule, is there any benefit from taking it every other day? With the 3 times a week you'll always be going an extra day w/o Finasteride on Sunday. Can this allow too much dht to slip through over time?
Another great video. Thanks. So many spoofers out there trying to sell expensive shampoo to vulnerable people.
Could you let me know what you think of Monat hair products please? I am aware these products are not yet available in Australia but they are being used in USA, Canada, UK, Ireland and Poland... Soon to start in Lithuania and Spain. The main ingredient in most of their hair care products is Capixyl. There have been so many reviews where these products have helped combat hair loss/ hair thinning and help stimulate the scalp and create a clean environment for the hair to grow. I would very much appreciate your thoughts. Thank you
I was told a long time ago I had to leave in the shampoo for 5+ minutes so I always started my shower with shampoo then wash it out at the end of the shower. I really haven’t noticed any hair growth though through out the years.
No hair growth eh, never heard of that
You guys are just awesome. Vikram What would you suggest, Prp or stem cell treatment, And how many sessions. It would be really helpful if you answer my question. Since I am already using Androanagen minidoxel, I would like to go beyond this. I had 3 prp sessions earlier, results were just awesome, it was my mistake that I completely stopped using minidoxel after seeing the results, and later lost all the thickness and hair I had. Now I am back on track using mindoxel, vitamins, so I should I go for Prp again or shall I try Stem cell treatment. please help me out. I know my question is lengthy, but I can't look up to someone else.
Glad PRP worked well for you. I do not think there is an effective "stem cell" treatment available for hair loss. Happy to be corrected.
@@TheHairLossShow That answers my question, thank you for the reply, It means a lot. I doubt some one could ever correct you guys, you are guys doing a great work, wish you all the success going forward, stay safe during this pandemic. Bye
How much it cost for prp? I'm also planning to go for PRP, can we use finesteride while we do for PRP?
I really love this chanel its like having a free consultation , I just wanna ask something , is it ok if I could shampoo and conditioner my hair using a minoxidil shampoo in the same time ? and would it be fine if I could do it everyday or when it is necessary ? thanks again , hope to see more videos like this from you guys.
I personally found when I used Head and Shoulders shampoo, it very quickly and greatly thinned my head out, to the point where I thought I was losing my hair. I stopped using it, and within a few weeks, my hair grew back to normal. Years later, I forgot about this and bought it again, and started using it. Eventually the same thing happened, my hair started rapidly thinning, and than after than recalled what previously happened, I stopped using it, and within a few weeks, my hair grew back normally. I recommend people exercise caution, if deciding to use head and shoulders.
What shampoo do you use now?
@@Mrfox996 hey mate. This'll sound weird, but I make my own anti-dandruff shampoo.
I use your standard Garnier Fructis shampoo from the supermarket, and pour enough into a cup. I also pour some vinegar into that same cup. The vinegar in the cup is about 1/5 the amount of the Shampoo. I than mix the vinegar with the shampoo with my finger. And that's how I make myself anti-dandruff shampoo. The vinegar is what removes the dandruff. The more vinegar you pour in, the better it'll remove the dandruff, although if you pour a little too much, it'll also start to quickly thin your hair out like head and shoulders does.
If you find it thins your hair out, use even less vinegar compare to the shampoo in the mixture. And your hair should grow back within weeks.
So I find making the vinegar about 1/5 the amount of the shampoo is the right mix, but you can experiment.
Use any clear see through shampoo color, because you can see the shampoo vs vinegar mixture amount better. Where as using non-see through shampoo makes it harder to compare the shampoo vs vinegar amount.
I also find that while I shower and wash my hair with water everyday, I only need to use shampoo about once a month. I found using it too often, actually probably made the dandruff problem worse. But whatever you find works for you.
Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions.
Same bro
Head and Shoulders doesn't make your hair fall out and if it did it wouldn't grow back in a few weeks.
The issue with Head and Shoulders shampoo is that it's a very 'gunky' shampoo: it leaves a lot of residue behind, so if you have thinning hair it will make it look much thinner.
You're not actually losing hair when you use it.
Use Nizoral for crissakes. It's extremely effective for dandruff and is the only shampoo documented to be effective against hair loss.

No kidding!
No kidding!
iKR! Talk about going around in circles!!
I believe there is actually a study comparing the active ingradient of Head & Shoulders (the zinc pyrithione) comparing it against 5% minoxidil and the anti-dandruff zinc pyrithione shampoo did almost as well as the 5% minoxidil group, which is quite amazing I think... Many are talking about Nizoral, but zinc pyrithione shampoos may actually be more effective and cheaper.
Were to get shampoo that has zinc pirthione?
The problem with Nizoral 2% etc is that it's an anti dandruff shampoo and can dry out the scalp causing more problems.
@@oncall21 Then use castor oil in order to moisturize scalp after showing with Nizoral. It helps alot to avoid problem
@@oncall21 I think many people use too much nizoral, half teaspoon to one teaspoon is actually the amount that is meant to be used.
@@niamhbyrne4036 the problem I guess I have with Nizoral 2% is that it needs to be in the scalp for like a couple of hours to become transdermal . The average shower lasts what, maybe five to ten minutes.
A good quality volumising shampoo makes thin hair look better. I also use a shampoo with Ketoconazole & caffeine, like Revita.
@nickh1877 hey man, i know i am posting a comment on yours after 1 year but i wanted to know if you are still using revita shampoo and what are your thoughts on it?
So interesting. Dr. Dray (Andrea Suarez, dermatologist) recommends Head and Shoulders. I can't remember why at the moment, but there is an ingredient in H&S that helps with hair loss.

After applying derma roller can i use my routine product like shampoo??
Hi Dr. how frequent should we wash our hair? Thank you
Doctor please make a video about how stress makes us loss hair and how to deal with it
Hi very interesting.. just a tip
please put a link down below when you mention a video whilst talking, that makes everything much easier (ex. Ketoconazole etc)
Hello, thank your for your video it was very helpful. I just have a question, do you believe that mixing onion juice with your shampoo help with hair-growth? I have read that onion juice can provide extra sulfur to support strong and thick hair, thus preventing hair loss and promoting hair growth. The sulfur from onions may also help promote collagen production. Collagen in turn helps the production of healthy skin cells and hair growth. Is it true??
So, my conditioner after I shampoo is rosemary water. Just boiled rosemary herbs in water and use once cooled. I spray it first in the scalp {after done shampooing) and massage it in and then the remainder of it I pour it over my head and let it run down my scalp and the length of my hair and I leave it in. I do not wash it off.
Is that okay, Doc?
Looking forward to the ketoconazol shampoo video !
Hi i was wondering whether there is any science behind this shampoo which is advertised for hair growth. ALPECIN CAFFEINE SHAMPOO C1 DUO (250ML)You guys are great so informative and very generous and genuine in wanting to help people with no strings attached.
I don’t know about this shampoo but caffeine is normally used as dht blocker that will lead to hair growth.

Will be waiting on the keto shampoo video. I was prescribed 2 percent for dandruff from the company "keeps". They claim it does not help with hair loss but i see other conflicting reports but im sure you have the real answer. I leave it on for 5 minutes like the directions say. How often should you shampoo? I’ve seen basically everything from everyday, to once every 3 days.

Hi Dr. I've searched through all the comments but couldn't find anything regarding how often topical finasteride + minoxidil should be applied? Should it be applied twice a day or is once a day fine?
once a day is enough
I got a hair transplant a few years ago, and my surgeon recommended Nizoral. I used it for a while, but it's 15 quid for a tiny bottle, so after hearing that shampoo made very little difference anyway, I decided to switch to Head and Shoulders. I don't know if that alone was responsible (I also use a roller and Rogaine), but I noticed a definite improvement in ovall thickness.
£15? Who's been selling it to you for that price??
You got a transplant but are afraid of expensive hair products lol irony posting are you??
@@jerryscanas Yes, I'm "afraid" of expensive hair products... I check every night to see if there's a bottle of Nizoral hiding under my bed.

Please do a video on nizoral! I am taking finasteride and using nizoral twice a week
Does Nizoral make your hair incredibly dry and frizzy? I tried the 2% version of it and that's what it did to my hair, although I have naturally dry scalp
@@newtonsgrandchild1701 It's fine for me, it's pretty much replaced my normal shampoo. I do have slightly oily hair so it just helps with that for me
@@newtonsgrandchild1701 Thats possible. I have been using nizoral a well. I realized that certain regions of my scalp are prone to dryness (Back and in the side) and certain portions(middle region) are oily. SO I apply nizoral only in region that is not too dry. Also I apply cocunut oil in the night and wash it of the next day morning to minimize the dryness caused by nizoral.
@@bhuvi441 That's a good idea, I might try it and use a moisturizing oil afterwards to prevent the dryness. For me coconut oil was clogging the pores and causing pimples, so I may try something like Jojoba or argan oil. It's worth noting that everyones scalp is different and its important to expirement and see what works for you

Thank you for the video! I know I asked a couple times, too ♥
I'm curious now; do you mean that if I leave the shampoo on my head for the "6 minutes," then I'll see the effects?
In short, I don't think shampoos have any effect on hair other than keeping it clean. With regards to medicated shampoos, you need to leave them on for longer to see any effect.
@@TheHairLossShow Got it. Thank you so much!~
How often should someone who has thinning hair / MPB wash their hair? My GP told me to wash my hair less frequently -- no more than twice a week / every third day. But there is a lot of contradictory information out there that says to wash the hair daily to keep the scalp healthy to reduce hair loss. What do you guys recommend?
No shampoo
Theirs no evidence saying that washing your hair alone causes male pattern baldness......
If you have oily scalp you should wash your hair every other day or every day. If you have dry hair you can go longer between washes.
If you workout everyday it’s better to wash everyday. You can use gentle shampoo for every day wash and use a clarifying shampoo once a week.
is it safe to leave shampoo in your hair for skin mins? considering the chemicals in it and how its mean't to be washed out right away.
Thank you for the education you're providing on hair loss. Pls, my questions are;
1. I have prostate enlargement and I'm treating it with 5mg finasteride. I'm experiencing hair loss at the same time. Is the 5mg all I need to treat both problems or I need to take an additional 1mg for the hair loss?
2. I initially used finasteride made by Accord Health. I recently went to the pharmacy to buy additional ones but the one by Accord were out of stock. I bought a different brand by Exeter Pharmaceuticals-UK.
I seem not to get any material of their finasteride on their website or the internet in general.
Pls, I would like to know if you've heard of this brand and if it is fine for me use it?
Hi there. I have no additional information on the brand.
You don't need to increase the dose of finasteride. 5mg will be sufficient for both conditions. You need a proper assessment and if you do have MPHL and are still losing hair, further options need to be discussed.
@@TheHairLossShow Ok. Thank you.
I'm no Dr. But the typical prescribed dosage for DHT blocking is 0.5-1mg. So yes 5mg is definitely more than sufficient for preventing hair loss due to DHT
Thanks for debunking some of the myths, but then why do so many bottles say paraben free on them? Is that just marketing or do preservatives affect the hair in negative ways?
Can you do a video on essential oils? There's a study where rosemary oil performed better than 2% Minoxidil, although different mechanisms but I'm curious to see your opinion on them since many balding men are spending time and money applying essential oils. Thanks :)
The problem with that study is it was done on rats, not humans. I have peppermint oil and used it but I didn't see any regrowth.
@@FidoeFTW The mint oil study was done on rats, but the rosemary study was done on humans. Here's the study: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25842469
@@newtonsgrandchild1701 That's very interesting. Thank you for this.
NoNameforNow peppermint is not used for hair growth, it is used as a scalp cleanser, it helps with dry and itch scalp and should never be used without being properly diluted.
NoNameforNow Rosemary, and Cedarwood (in my opinion) are great for providing stimulation and circulation to the hair follicles. BUT, I do not suggest using any essential oils if you do not have experience in the using them.
I’ve found that making your own shampoo with Aloe Vera gel and 10 drops of Rosemary oil works great!!
Do you put anything else besides this?does it wash hair well?
Do you recommend using products that contain human growth factor extracts like LC Cell company products and does it work for male pattern baldness and is there any side effects?
In my country they took the zinc pyrithione out of head and shoulders and replaced it with olamide something. Zinc pyrithione cleaned better and worked better for my dandruff so now I’m using Nizoral 2% shampoo. I used head and shoulders for years prior with zinc pyrithione. And my hair is down to my butt I’m a female btw…. I also wash my hair once a week etc
But I use this for dandruff and to clean my scalp as other shampoos don’t wash as well, however I don’t leave it in that long… it still helps
