46 year old engineer here helping my 17 year old daughter with her math. Thanks once again for being, apparently, the only guy on YT that understands this stuff well enough to explain it. Huge thanks for providing all the info you need to solve the problems on one video. I never make comments on YT videos, but you sir are awesome!!
Coming from an engineer I'll take that as quite the compliment! Thanks for taking the time to share your appreciation for these videos. Also, thanks for being an involved parent! ...after 23 years of teaching I don't see that enough:( Please share this channel with any other parents you know and also your daughters teacher so they can share this free study resource with ALL current and future students, and remind them how important it is to like, subscribe, support the ads and share these free educational channel you find helpful because that's how we remain free...BAM!!!
Thank you for the positive feedback. I hope you continue to find help in my videos...and good luck in your class:) I don't know about your teacher though!!!
In my day the saying went..."Time flies when you're having FUN!" And THANK YOU for watching, liking, the nice comment and supporting by subscribing...please help my channel growth by sharing with your friends too:D
I noticed there was a bit of a pause on that one...sometimes I even have to do a few retakes just so I can make sure you viewers out there are awake and ready to learn:)) Thanks for your continued support!
Where are you here from? I am honored that you chose my channel to learn from and excited to hear that you are able to understand all my english...next thing you know you will be yelling BAM!! out loud in class when you get an answer correct:) Thanks for the kind words and for subscribing. Please be sure to tell the rest of your class where to find me:D
I don't normally make comments on RUclips but I just want to say thank you for all your videos! I passed college algebra and triginometry because of your channel. I am now taking pre calculus and I'm still watching your videos. I wish I had you as my professor. All the ones I have had suck! Anyways, keep up the good work! I hope I get good at math as you are one day.
+Alex Procel thanks for taking the time to "thank the teacher" and sharing your successes with us! (at least I can be your RUclips teacher:) and we greatly appreciate the continued support! Please remember to like, subscribe, support the ads, share thru social medias and with all your friends and classmates to support free educational channels like mine so they will remain free:D
Thanks for all those years of support and best of luck with your english career! If you love what you do, you'll never really feel like it's a job...BAM!!!
TheOrangeJuiceProgrammer you're welcome. Good to know it's helping. I only have the top 30 or so done so far...it's a very time consuming project (which I already don't have much extra of:( ...so I'm looking for ways to get them CC faster...maybe looking for some grant money to hire a transcriber to do them all since CC also can be translated thru google into many different languages as well:)
+ProfRobBob You might want to try a go fund me or something similar. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who would love to help an individual who is making math so simple.
+Thedock Leesmile thanks, we'll think about that! My wife keeps hoping some company will volunteer to do the rest of them as a form of donation...we're just exploring all areas and ideas now. I'm taking a break from doing them on my own for now...it's sooooo time consuming and I want to make more videos. Teaching full time doesn't leave much free time as it is:(
Thank you for the positive feedback...and having the self motivation to search out extra videos to help you learn your math:) Please help me by spreading the word about my new math channel. Keep up the good work!
Put your equation into exponential form first and solve for x and then make a t-table by choosing y values and solving for each x. Subtract 4 from both sides, make both sides an exponent of two to cancel the log base 2, add 2 to both sides and divide by 5 to isolate the x.
Thank you very much for choosing my channel to learn from and good luck on that entrance exam...go into that classroom with the new found confidence you have and pass that exam like BAM!!!
My payment is knowing that I'm helping students like you succeed...and we do appreciate the sub too! Thank you from Florida...please spread the word and make this the "go-to" math channel in Oregon...BAM!!!
For that particular example yes...I am just showing the process that should help with any rational function (as long as the numerator and denominators are polynomials) :) Thank you for watching. Sorry it took so long to reply.
I'm sorry to hear you are having so much trouble in class but happy to hear that my videos are helping you. We teachers all have our own unique teaching style and sometimes it just takes hearing it taught a different way can make all the difference. Maybe you could start a study group with some other classmates and watch my videos together and then problem solve together...give it a try, it has worked for other viewers of mine:) Thanks for watching and choosing my videos to learn from!
And awake too I hope...if so, my goal has once again been met:) Thank you for your support and be sure to share with all your friends if you find my channel helpful...Happy Thanksgiving break:))..gobble, gobble!
My wife scours the thrift stores for one of a kind RUclips appropriate shirts, we made some thru Vistaprint, have received a few math related from students and I made the pumpkin pi one for my halloween costume 2 years ago:) Thanks for noticing and watching!
I've been studying in America as an exchange student for two months (I'm gonna stay here for a school year), and I'm taking pre-calculus. Your videos are AMAZING. You are the best math teacher I've ever seen. I wish you were my teacher! I learnt how to sketch a graph of rational funtcion. PS. As I said, I'm an exchange student and my English level is not so good. But I understood every single word that you used in this video. Oh, my God. THANKS!!
You are so welcome!!! And THANK YOU for supporting by subscribing....please continue to help my channel groW by sharing your experience and my channel with others:D...and keep watching and learning:)
I'm taking summer school to get ahead and have the worst precalc teacher and it's his first year teaching. I've started watching your videos and now everything makes soooo much sense. Thank you soo much!
You are soooo welcome Christian D. glad it was so helpful! Sounds like you should share my channel with your new teacher...suggest that he share the channel as an additional study reference with all his students:) Most teachers appreciate any type of additional studying from their students in order to learn more. And share it with your friends too:D I really appreciate all the support and sharing, that's how I groW!
Your videos follow the pedagogical standards of an excellent instructor. One particular positive is your use of a clear and understandable sequence of steps. Another is the way you talk through your thoughts, e.g. why a certain variable equals a particular constant. A sparkle of being just like the rest of us when you wonder what you just said or what you almost forgot makes me smile. Thank you for all your efforts to help math students online.
How eloquently you write Karen Ketchum thanks you for taking the time to share the compliments and "Thank" the teacher! Please keep sharing my channel, remind them to like, subscribe, support the ads, like on Facebook, share thru social medias and with others...these are all the things that help these free educational channels groW and remain free...BAM!!!

Danil 1301 Chestomry It sounds like you are talking about parent functions and understanding transformations. These are the videos I have about transformations at the moment. ruclips.net/video/Ccq1aQDCfVE/видео.html This is specific to absolute value functions, but how transformations work is the same across the board. ruclips.net/video/Y3epwwi1NAk/видео.html
Hello professor. Thank you very much; great lecture. Just wanted to ask how to determine what test points we are supposed to use to graph the asymptotes? Thank you! Subscribed btw
Thank you so much! In my Alg2 class I don't get anything. He has horrible handwriting and I sit in the back of the class, most of the time I can't see at all. He is said to be a genius, but he does not care if we get it or not. All the kids are afraid to ask questions because he always treats them like they are idiots for not getting it. He just taught us this and yet everything in this video was new to me. Thankfully, unlike the hour I spend in his class everday, I understood most of it :D

Great video!!! It explains the steps of drawing a rational function really clearly.
Just out of curiosity, wouldn't dividing the function through and then draw the graph be easier? After division, the function would be just (1 / (x - 3)) + 1, which is a regular rectangular hyperbola with a simple translation.

Can you please show us how to sketch the root graph of a function. Thanks

@MrDJKaram Thank you:)
Thankfully, unlike the hour I spend in his class everday, I understood most of it :D
thanks a lot
