Damn!! Now I have to play my 15D again!! I don’t have a Rhodes nor a Solina, but I have a CP35 and a few old stringers with a couple old SmallStone. That should do it! Thanks for sharing ! That 15D sounds so lush, and the crazy part is you’re only using one of the 2 channels!

keep a CS 15 D just as a backup for the pro soloist. Should use it more!

Im such a huge fan of CS-15D, still my most favourite synth of them all (I have two of them - one is being used by my gf and I also have serviced / repaired few of them as well) and its beautiful! :)
Btw you are back in studio or moved to new one?
    All the best!

Yeah, for some reason, I feel like my 15D sounds better than my 40M for solos like this. It’s technically the same filter, but maybe it is implemented differently? More creamy to my ears. The ProSoloist (I have a DGX) has the advantage of aftertouch, so it adds one layer of expressivity (especially if you’re playing with just one hand, but not an issue if doing a track by track studio recording). But if I’m not mistaken, the filter is a 24db, vs the smoother 12db of the 15D, so the sound can be quite different. And the 15D also has 2 channels and more hands on control on sound, so it’s give and take for me…

@@SynthOSphere Hello! They are really very similair (I do have 40M as well), mainly it is the difference 2channels-2filters per note vs double the amount of oscilators + duophony. Filter is same and implemented same as well, but I see difference in filtering capacitors values, not sure how much of a difference in sound it makes, but technically yes, there is difference. Also another thing (again the difference is questionable) 15D uses falling sawtooth (misses waveshape invertor) while 40M has rising one. I would say CS-40M is soundwise much "heavier", it is a massive beast that takes over whole mixdown if you ask her to do so, double VCO and both having sine waveshaper, thats hard to beat. Anyways yeah, I prefer CS-15D for expressive and strongly articulated solo lines (dual filter per note just makes a lot of magic) and CS-40M for everything else. And I also have SY-2 which has the legendary optomechanical aftertouch, dual filter etc.. and that one is really unbeatable for expressive play. I recenly got Teisco S100P, that one is awesome, uses licenced ARP aftertouch (from your soloist) which is great (not as great as SY-2 one, but solid), 24db Moog ladder filter, spring reverb etc.. love that thing quite a lot.
Im actually designing a little non invasive modification for CS-15D (I despise mods, that need cripling or irrevesable changes to original instrument), that will add PWM with dedicated LFO for it, still figuring it out, but might be great addition.
      All the best!

@@DestroyER82 Awesome!!! Yeah, I have a second defective/damaged 15D (someone dropped it hard, I figure, a few keys were broken and front metal keybed railing bent (!) and the top panel also a tiny bit, around the same area, but the worse was the Filter PCB got craked, but I managed to find a new one (just gotta transfer the main iG chips)! And all the metal was unbent and keys were found, so all good) and I wanted to try and mod that one, with a reversible mod I saw someone do: you know how the last preset on Channel 2 is a free edit "Manual" where you can use the controls on the right? We someone modded the Channel-1 to do the same, and it's apparently not too hard. Now whenever we want to use a mix of both channels, we're stuck with Presets on Ch1, well not anymore with this!! It would make that synth even better. And you can always remove the mod and put it back ot original if you want.
I'm interested by your PWM mod, if you ever want to share more info.
