The mods are pretty great. I recommend you try Half-Life: Caged. Blew my mind while I was playing through it. Has its own Steam page, so it's zero hassle to install.
I doubt it, Gordon doesn't have very advanced weaponry, only the Hazard Suit and the Gluon Gun, while the Combine has millions if not billions of soldiers with high-tech weapons. The Vorts also wouldn't do much considering they were enslaved by Nihilanth. Maybe an extra day or two.
the plot of HL2 would be way different, however i don’t think just gordon with a battalion of vortigaunts would change the course of the seven hour war the vort battalion would just be like another spider to pick the legs off of

actually the combine invades earth only a bit after the initial resonance cascade, so it may be possible that he fights back early on and gets a better endjng for humanity
They need to make a black mesa version sense you just get plopped somewhere in xen where there was the xen trooper things (sorry I forgot their names 😔)
Yes, this was recorded on normal difficulty entirely without cheats. Apart from taking out the times I've been in the menu to save the game, reloading for a retry or blacking out the HUD in the credits, there's no editing or use of console commands.
Oh they're a distance away from Black Mesa because Barney and the gang fled a day or two earlier and went "out of range" before that happened. It's not Black Mesa, just some restaurant far away but still in New Mexico.
@@zaphero5518 I think he was talking about the portal sections where you go to different locations, I think it was the purple portal that sent you back into Black Mesa.
Currently rendering a very difficult run of version 1.1 with the pink Xen pod secret and bad ending. Didn't realize it wouldn't give me the gold shield at the end if I did the bad ending, but I'm not interested in doing another run just for that. The end fight on that difficulty is just stupidly hard.
@@KnightlyPlaythroughs Yeah you'll have to make sure HALF of your Vort comrades survive in order to get happy ending and the shield. Its not impossible, but very difficult to get one like you got less than 10% chance getting it even if you try conserve as much ammo as you got. If it wasn't for Hezus reducing gauss ammo I would've got Gold easily.
