Respect your work. I wish I can take that long doing those steps. Unfortunately in the east coast the carpet business is Very competitive. There isn’t a single store that I have personally found that is okay with someone taking 2 days on a set of steps. Stores out here push tons of work on us and if you can’t install a room fast and do a good enough job then they stop giving you work and give it to the next guy. Unfortunately there is no room to slow down and dot all the i’s like we would like. It’s work fast and hard or the job is giving to the next installer. There is absolutely no shortage of installers in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York area.

If you could remember what carpet that is exactly besides chevron berber. I would love that colour and texture for our basement renos next month for stairs.

Great work and attitude Rueben ! Replacing a quick job is more expensive than taking your time and doing it right . Sometimes I have customers get upset.

it most definitely should be obvious the quality of your craftsmanship to the store you work out of by now. Just a suggestion but I'd tell the store you work out of once the material is agreed on with the customer, That you will go out and measure the job and go over the scope of work with the customer on what's considered ready for installation. Then you give the store your bill for labor to charge the customer on in there total bill. It's a simple 3 step process. The store meets with customer picks out material. you have a copy of what style pattern ect... you measure and give the store the cuts and labor bill..Store calls customer back with total for the job. it either sells or it dont. Walking into to jobs like that for over 20 years is the reason I opened my own shop and quit working for stores

I feel your pain man . We do get the occasional good person who does what they say. I had a job where they ripped out the center of a room left all the pad, carpet a foot from the wall with pad and tackless under it . They had the nerve to say is that good enough. I said sure as long as you are OK with me putting the hardwood right over top.

I imagine he's just cutting a 45 off the top corner.. No matter what it's hard to hide staples on the corner because it Berber.. The first step looks pretty good though.. Installers never get enough credit when comes to costom installs like this..
