The guy on the left was doing half reps although his hand position was nearly perfect. But the guy on the right did full reps which was impressive but his arms were way to widely opened which could dislocate his shoulders.

Edit -- if u point ur fingers outward when doing widearm pushups, it points ur elbows backwards so that's also good form

He had zero risk of dislocating his shoulders. I'm not sure where you got that one. His form was perfect and his hand position is what worked for him. If anything, that position balanced the load between his chest and triceps. Shoulders are very secondary during push ups. People bench 500lbs and don't dislocate their shoulders.

Cam didn't do a single push-up as far as military regulations are concerned. I counted 72 full extension push ups on the right and 0 full extension push ups on the left. Love ya Cam, but you lost bud!

Nah,both are not strict push up form. Guy on the right is too wide,both have their elbows flared out not tucked in,neither lock out everytime,arms are too far forward.

That's why Islam is the only Religion accepted by God nowadays, which consists in bearing witness that there is no god besides Allah (God in Aramaic, the original language of Jesus and the Gospel), and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger, just like Jesus and Moses and others are His servants and messengers. Never a messenger of God said he was God or literally son of God, it was the people after him who changed the words of God and corrupted the Religion. God is unique and absolute, He does not need to have a family and sons or to associate anyone else with His kingdom, He can simply create whatever He wants, everything belongs to Him, and to Him everything will return. Allah said in Surah Al-Mu’minun : “God has never begotten a son, nor is there any god besides Him. Say, “He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He begets not, nor was He begotten. And there is none comparable to Him.” (1-4 / Translated by ITANI).
Allah said in Surah An-Nisa : O FOLLOWERS of the Gospel! Do not overstep the bounds [of truth] in your religious beliefs, and do not say of God anything but the truth. The Christ Jesus, son of Mary, was but God's Apostle - [the fulfilment of] His promise which He had conveyed unto Mary - and a soul created by Him. Believe, then, in God and His apostles, and do not say, "[God is] a trinity". Desist [from this assertion] for your own good. Never did the Christ feel too proud to be God's servant, nor do the angels who are near unto Him. But as for him who denies the truth of God's messages - behold, God is swift in reckoning!
Thus, [O Prophet,] if they argue with thee, say, "I have surrendered my whole being unto God, and [so have] all who follow me!" - and ask those who have been vouchsafed revelation aforetime, as well as all unlettered people, "Have you [too] surrendered yourselves unto Him?" And if they surrender themselves unto Him, they are on the right path; but if they turn away - behold, thy duty is no more than to deliver the message: for God sees all that is in [the hearts of] His creatures.
Verily, as for those who deny the truth of God's messages, and slay the prophets against all right, and slay people who enjoin equity - announce unto them a grievous chastisement.
It is they whose works shall come to nought both in this world and in the life to come; and they shall have none to succour them.

I love push up because it can engage many sides of your body, building chest, shoulder, arms and others but you most not be doing it fast avoid and so that it can give you what you want..
You can also challenge yourself by using timer

Davis won. Every rep of his was legit. Hanes, not so much. Both are impressive but Davis much more so due to full ROM.

Gotta have standards, 100% elbow extension at the top and chest to floor on bottom. No wide hand placement to shorten ROM.

Im pretty sure you should call for a rematch because the guy on the left wasnt fully going back up with the extension of the arms. On the other hand, the guy on the right was fully doing the correct way by going all the way up and back down.

Believe, then, in God and His apostles, and do not say, "[God is] a trinity". Desist [from this assertion] for your own good. God is but One God; utterly remote is He, in His glory, from having a son: unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth; and none is as worthy of trust as God. Never did the Christ feel too proud to be God's servant, nor do the angels who are near unto Him. And those who feel too proud to serve Him and glory in their arrogance [should know that on Judgment Day] He will gather them all unto Himself: (171-172 / Translated by Muhammad Asad).
Allah the Most Merciful said in Surah Ali-Imran : Behold, the only [true] religion in the sight of God is [man's] self-surrender unto Him; and those who were vouchsafed revelation aforetime took, out of mutual jealousy, to divergent views [on this point] only after knowledge [thereof] had come unto them. But as for him who denies the truth of God's messages - behold, God is swift in reckoning!
Thus, [O Prophet,] if they argue with thee, say, "I have surrendered my whole being unto God, and [so have] all who follow me!" - and ask those who have been vouchsafed revelation aforetime, as well as all unlettered people, "Have you [too] surrendered yourselves unto Him?" And if they surrender themselves unto Him, they are on the right path; but if they turn away - behold, thy duty is no more than to deliver the message: for God sees all that is in [the hearts of] His creatures.

Awesome, but to be fair the winner did not go all the way up and lock his elbows like the other guy. I seen many people fail a PT in the service for not doing that. Still awesome and a great example they set!
He could have some problem with his elbows that fails to allow him to lock them. I doubt it, and since he is a sponsored shooter, I would be more concerned with what he is doing right, than what you think he is doing wrong.
Reread my post, especially the last line ("still a great example they set"). I also never said he was doing anything wrong, just that it is easier to do more of them when you don't lock your elbows out.

@@dontfuckwiththewhat You are speaking to a guy who can do 104 non stop full rom push ups in 120 seconds, 32 one arm push ups per arm non stop (strong first style), 16 one arm one leg push ups (strongfirst style) per arm non stop.
I benched 200 kilo at a 90 kilo bodyweight my first day in the gym. That was before I ever did a rep of one arm push up.
I know the form you are talking about, the perfect push up, I like that form, however, you can't rush a perfect push up, it also needs to follow a steady tempo, I know because I have done it myself, one second eccentric, one second concentric.
So none of these guys could do that because they were going for max reps in the shortest amount of time. The guy without the hat, Matthew, did much better reps, especially in the beginning, yes he wasn't keeping elbows close to the body.
I am sure the guy with the hat could still beat matthew, if they both agreed to the same form, but this is a push up competition, it has to judged based on form, full extension is a more important thing than elbow position.

I never do push ups and pullups to see how many I can do. I do full range of motion in a deliberate fashion for hypertrophy. So do this many push ups seems insane to me. Completely different skill
Well if you can do 10 actual, powerful and correct reps, then you can likely do 30~ of the guy on the right, and 80 if you do it like the guy on the left lol

Ok, I hear what your saying, an after 2 years coming back to this video I'm certainly not as harsh as I was back then but I (and others) often contend that a standard push up should have the elbows close in to the body not flared out, as it reduces the effect of the "shoulder push". However, I'm far enough into my fitness journey now to accept that anyone doing 70+ push ups is likely to vary it a little. Congrats to both guys by the way!
