No Thermostat? Operating a new Viessmann Boiler using only weather compensation

  • This house didn’t have a thermostat for its heating system so I had to work around that and keep the boiler operating properly
    How’d I do that? I added a thermostat! Hahaha there’s a little more to it as I describe in this video.

    Could have used a light switch or toggle switch instead of a thermostat right?

      that was my thought why not just use a switch? winter and summer..

      Yeah but I’ve ran into issues in the past. People don’t know what the switch does, then they mess with it for whatever reason. The t-stat is instantly recognized as part of the heating system. It’s also simple and relatively cheap.

    Is there a software update so my viessmann combi boiler will show real time modulation? I have a model that’s 2 years old

    Why not just jumper tt and use warm weather shutdown?

      Would work with the old boilers but with the new controls the pumps would run 24/7/365 because they deleted that control scheme
