Yeah, they need to repeat this. Wouldn't it be cool if they printed, say, a Rank 9 in the same vein? Maybe supporting Dragons, a truly underutilised and weak monster type that really needs some buffs.

I think Invoker can be legal at 1 and it wouldn't break anything. The best targets are Gouki Suprex, Kizaru or a Zoodiac. However, it is 2023 these cards aren't good enough anymore. People say he limits design space. So does Emergency Teleport - it is at 3. So does Instant Fusion - at 1. Magnamhut being able to search ANY Dragon - I don't see how that will ever be a problem. Point is Invoker isn't broken right now and can come back.
Idk man, that sounds like speedroid 1 card 6 mats zeus if boarbow is still in the game. Might not be a big deal for some meta decks, but balancing the game because there are better cards isn't a good way.
I doubt this video will mention "Tomato King". But its a card I used to use quite often in my extra deck when playing Aromage casually in Duel Links. Aromage Cananga is a level 3 plant type monster, that can fulfil the requirement for the XYZ summon of this rank 3 monster quite well. But if i'm not mistaken, while this card was used in the anime (Yu-gi-oh Zexal), the card itself has never been printed in real life! such a shame, since it can turn into a boss monster if left unchecked!
Using leviathan and giga brilliant as benchmarks, it seems to me that tomato king would have been considered good if released in the early days of xyz, with the only thing potentially holding it back being its less generic summoning requirements
Literally the easiest way to fix Invoker is to lock it into X-Sabers, then its fine to be unbanned cause that deck isn't great, but with Invoker it could at least become more playable
I remember pulling a Leviair from its debut pack (Generation Force, iirc) as prize for topping a shop tournament with the Volcanic stall I had scrapped together from what I could collect. Ended up selling it to buy an MTG starter collection at the end of the day. Was my first time topping a local for any card game. Can't say whether it was a good idea or not. I didn't have the budget or time to actively pursue Yugioh so I probably wouldn't have gotten much use out of it to begin with.
I'm surprised no D/D/D stone king Darius since off of tour guide you can overlay into Darius and then overlay again into machinex stealing two monsters from the opponent.
What about Ashura King? 2100 ATK, can attack at least 3 times per battle phase, increases ATK by 200 every battle and has possibility to negate monster effect.
I think it has to do with its release date. Many of these cards were iconic for their time periods with occasional continued/renewed use past their time.
who would have guessed that the strongest x-saber monster is not their synchro? request: Top 10 monsters that both good on the field and when it leaves the field
I think ashura king, from power of the elements, should be on the list. Its a powerful rank 3 xyz monster that has a monster negate and multi attacks. (But maybe i just dont understand whats meta)
Ashura King would be amazing, but 3-mat XYZ are just inherently much worse than 2 mat XYZ. Whenever you could spend 3 material for one monster, you could probably have made a full board by doing a 2-material play and using the third as an extender.
Find it hilarious that M-X-Saber Invoker was more or less designed to make X-Saber more viable and that has nothing to do with why it was so broken. If it locked you into “Saber” monsters or could only summon one with its effect, then it might not have seen any play, but I could still use it in one of my favorite decks. I just want more “Saber” support be it in general like Commander Gottoms, Swordmaster or just X-Saber specifically.
i think that m-x-saber invoker could only be un-banned with an errata like "2 level 3 x-saber monsters". probably it would be fine since you would have to play lots of x saber monsters?
I play Salamangreat deck in Duel Links (I got almost all SG cards available in DL apart from SG Circle) and my only problem with the archetype there is that has currently no boss monster over 3k ATK...
