    Yay, you found Sir Seven! WSAW in Wausau was my childhood favorite. And they still have that suit of armor at the station! I visited in 2004 for their 50th anniversary open house and had my picture taken next to it.

    13:59 I can never seem to understand why when the announcer says "Henderson and Las Vegas", he elongates and enunciates the sound and puts so much unnecessary emphasis on it...
    ...but I like it. A lot.

      Probably because it's so unusual for an ID it gets your attention. It stands out. IDs are normally all business because they're a legal requirement.

    Nice pick for Tampa w/ a rare & memorable sighting of WFTS in their pre-ABC days, not many examples here here on YT.
    It was also nice to see KIMT finally did in fact, "work harder for us".

      Tampa Bay native here. I watched plenty of WFTS-TV back then. WTOG was the clear non-Big 3 leader here at the time, but WFTS-TV held its own, especially when it got the FOX affiliation in '88. The logo shown here is an improvement over what it used before.

    Being located in the Dothan AL, market, i remember seeing WMBB channel 13 only twice in my life and that was probably due to E-Skip, or a tropospheric ducting event.

    That was awesome!! Love that old radio jingle style singing from PAMS, et al. It’s fun to see how stations project that they’re much bigger than they really are. I guess I’m spoiled growing up watching NYC TV (with its 7 channels).

    15:17 - Slight mix up there, the ID was for WBAL, not WJZ. WBAL in 1981 was NBC and CBS later in the year when they swapped with WMAR

      Brian Hebert Yeah, I know that. WFTS was also Owned by Family Television Stations before being acquired by E.W. Scripps around 1988, when Fox moved over its programming from WTOG.

    Yup. I still recognize that particular ident from their stint as an American Broadcasting Company affiliate; They're currently under the aegis of the local Catholic Archdiocese under their current callsign WORO-TV/WORO-DT Channel 13. (According to Wikipedia, that one has an interesting backstory spanning from what would've been its botched original inception between 1958 and late 1961, which I'm looking up. #StayTunedIn)

    1:32 now Univision. As an ABC affiliate they used the CNN Headline News theme for their news.
    0:39 now ABC, but they have other networks on DT (simulcasting LPTVs).
    4:26 now Fox KBTV. The current NBC affiliate, KBMT 12.2, is known as K-JAC.
    6:08 now Fox, but with ABC on 24.2.
    7:25 now The CW, previously Fox.
    10:57 now NBC.
    11:25 now ABC.
    11:08, 10:35 now Fox
    13:10 now KRQE, still CBS but with Fox on 13.2

    I saw a couple of mistakes. For channel 11 in Baltimore, MD, it is WBAL (CBS in the early 80's now NBC since 1/1/1996) not WJZ-13 (ABC now CBS since 1/1/1996). For WDVM (now WUSA since 7/4/1986), it was during the brief "Ours To Share" campaign from 1984 thru to the call letter change in 1986.

      i was well aware of the first one (countless comments about it) but the second one is a bit tricky, since it was an approximation in a list of IDs from 1979-1986. i had gotten the idea that in 1984, they were using a CGI logo, so I assumed it was before then.

    You can sure tell by the rankings that this was in the 1980's. Nowadays Grand Rapids, MI (the market serving an area from Hesperia, MI to the Indiana border during the 1980's, Nielsen stupidly moved the boundary up to the Lake/Wexford county line which is well north of Baldwin) is probably in or near the top ten and Detroit is probably well down in the rankings.

      It is a signoff from 1989 so maybe if I was able to find regular station IDs from WHIZ from the time, it would be more updated, but I wasn't able to. I guess they didn't care to fix the dated signoff
