And a force at the plate that no one will ever replicate or even come close to matching. How do you cope with his walk to ko ratio? Even if we exclude half the intentional walks?
He looks like the guy at work that snitches on everyone
I don't understand why if Barry is playing then AJ is out. 2 different positions and there was no DH then
I figure if Bonds is resting then they'd try to play their most powerful roster they can, but if Bonds is playing then they can rest many other strong players. That way the team is roughly the same strength every game.
100% Bonds best player i have ever watched....
Watch some players who didn't need a " chemical romance " to perform @ Hall of Fame levels.
The only player I have ever seen who's head dbl'd size. Roid head . Tony Gwynn, Albert Pujols, Miggy, Stan " the man "
Roberto Clemente, "Shoeless " Joe Jackson, etc pretty bold statement from somebody who does not matter AJ !
Growing up a Red Sox fan. Id have to say that Ted Williams was the greatest hitter of all time. How many home runs would Teddy ball game would have hit, if he didn't serve in WWII and korea.
There was a 4 year period bonds averaged over a 1300 ops. That’s unreal. Juicing of course
@waylonmercy1533 like I said. Give Teddy Ballgame his average home runs the year he spent in Wars and he's the all-time home run leader. Plus he's still the last player to average over 400 for a season in the MLB
@@billystanhope5855 nobody cares about average. Williams never came close to a 1300 ops. That was bonds AVERAGE OPS for 4 seasons.
@waylonmercy1533 give me no steroid Willuams in his prime, over small dicked Barry. A Ted Willams without WWII and Korea would have had a home run record Barry would never even sniffed with his little dick. Andy Van Slykes words, not mine. He said he watched Barry' s. Dick shrink so much it basically became an inny.
@@waylonmercy1533Take 4 years of juicing away from Bonds just like Teddy ballgame missed 4 year's and that ops number plunges
Jim Leyland was the only manager/coach Bonds had that wouldn't put up with his shit. He was molly coddled from the time he was at ASU all thru his career
im not really sure if i believe this, because this was the same guy who refused to go over pitches and players with the starting pitcher while he was with the giants.
As a manager,I don't care how good you are. You come that late, you will be sitting
The GM would like you to report to his office.
Sorry bud, but I'm gonna have to call BS on that. It's easy to say stuff like that from the cheap seats, but when you're dealing with the all time HR leader you'd probably give them some leeway, too.
True, but some leeway. Yes,but he doesn't make the team. He tried that in Pittsburgh, Leland did have any of it. Cause if you allow him to get away with it,what make you think others won't follow. Yes it will be a hard decision to make to sit down a threat, but sometimes you have to lose a battle to win a war.
Barry fucking bonds?
Sit down a superstar. the rest of the team will fall in place. Let Superstar get away with it,the the rest will want the same.
Barry bonds is the greatest hitter of all time its just sick he had to choose to cheat
He didn’t cheat because there were no rules against steroids back then! Then he never tested Positive! Sure his head had grown 4 inches, sure he went from wearing a size 10 to size 13, sure he looked like Hugh Jackman as the wolverine . He still never tested positive!
Cheat??? You mean like every other player at that time
@@johnburgess3488 “honey I only cheated on u cause my friends cheated on their wives “.
He was already the best hitter in baseball.he’s a disgrace. Like manny. Like soda. Like macguire. Like a rod. Like Yaris.
Sadly he not or even close to the greatest hitter of all time. Drugs or not.. top 80 maybe
Steroids doesn't make you a better hitter. Strength does equal hand eye coordination and pitch selection. He was a HOFer before roids. Do your research
I’m a Dodger fan….I hate the Giants…And the steroid era was what it was….But he’s right, Barry is the greatest hitter of all time.
Those PED’s really kept you in the line-ups.
Bonds the GOAT lol
Great teammate Barry was. Real classy guy...oh wait
Ted Williams is the best hitter of all time.
Yes. True that. Williams is the best hitter of all time after Barry
Did you watch Ted Williams play?
The average fastball was probably 82 mph during Ted Williams' day
@@fartkicker Bob Feller was hitting 95+ easily. Way ahead of his time though in terms of velocity.
Hank Aaron
I’ll always love AJ for his game winning hit against the A’s. So nothing against AJ. And Barry is the best hitter ever ya know *ON STEROIDS. Just a minor detail lol.
Barry was a DH right? Kind of weird that they would change the whole lineup (or at least the catcher) when they could just swap the DH position (or whatever Barry's position was.
No DH in the national league. Bonds was in right field
Or left
Bonds was in left in SF
What lol? Do you know what teams he played for?
It’s really simple. If AJ was on your team you loved him, if he was on the other team you hated him. White Sox ‘05. Loved him. Only player in the history of baseball to steal first base.
So one guy holds a team hostage, not because he was injured but because of when he would show up.
Totally legitimate of a closed case of PED and he goes greatest hitter of all time....
Hes the besT JUICER of all time!
and hitter
You would know, that’s what dripping off your 80 year old sphincter.
Consider that mad dude took juice and never hit bonds level… yes
Big Mac hit 70
But he was usually not hitting 300 or getting on base at a .500 clip lmAo
Nice try
Sosa
McGwire
Ortiz
Canseco
Gonzalez (Juan and Luis)
Braun
Rodriguez (pudge and Alex)
Tejada
Palmeiro
None of them had those stats. All of them were on. So …. I guess it’s not a miracle drug after all, why won’t hey hit 700?
Well Tony Gwynn but I say Barry is the goat
No wonder Bonds never won a ring, he was cancer to the team.
He doesn't have a ring, only because Dusty Baker took out Russ Ortiz in Game 6 of 2002 WS.
If you knew anything, you'd know there have been teams that won titles, when players didn't even like each other.
@@NatTurnerswitBurnerz exactly. the title was theirs and dutsy threw it away
Barry didn’t win a ring because they didn’t always have the best team around him. Lot of teams have won the World Series with “locker room cancers”.
@@christophernelson2423 Yep, baseball is an individual sport masquerading as a team game. Team chemistry isn't worth crap in the game unlike football & basketball.

“Seems a little late.” It’s Barr freakin Bonds! Best hitter ever
Barry Bonds was the best hitter in the MLB ever. He is the only guy Managers wouldn't throw to, and feared by every pitcher. Look up Maddux look up Gagne or any pitcher that faced him. He could change the game with one swing. Rose and Gwynn were greats, but did not strike fear they way Bonds did. The eye hand coordination, and to know the strike zone so well, is unmatched. Best of all time.
second all time in walks is not even close to Bonds
Video game numbers. A .609 obp one year. A team intentionally walked him with the bases loaded. Hard to fathom getting on base 60% of the time.
When asked about his bases loaded World Series walk: sho Walter said:

I will at AJ with a guy named Ted Williams as greatest hitter ever.

How is it bad managers when it’s Barry showing up late
Showed up late? What games did he miss from being late?
I’ve got a 100% true bonds story during season he hit 73 home runs. It involves cocaine prostitutes and all started after a Sacramento kings game. Ex Brewer Greg Vaughn was also involved as well.
Either Felipe or Dusty ? Come on AJ
Pure hitter. Hitter. Two different conversatiions. In no particular order.
Pure hitters. Ichiro. Boggs. Gwynn. Joe Jackson. And I hear Ty Cobb was pretty good. There are others.
Hitters:. Bonds. Ruth. Williams. Pujols. Foxx. Mays. Mantle. Aaron. Wagner. Musial. Gehrig. Griffey
The Hitter list contains the best, most productive hitters. Gwynn is in the 20 to 25 range on this list.
I think Bonds Is a top 10 hitter for sure. Your kinda splitting hairs when you try to compare different decades. I think Williams is the GOAT.
Im sorry but, this is like the babe ruth conversations. Have a hard time putting those players in the convo when they played is a segregated league and not the best competition. I think those guys would shit themselves catching up to todays velo and break.
No stop it. Ruth and Williams aren't good enough? Lol . They are number 2 and 3 all time batters
@@keysersoze9592 So players today have adjusted to todays pitching, but that's not possible for players who played 70 years ago. Because Williams wasn't really serious about hitting. It was more of a casual pastime for him. OK. I'm sure you know what you're talking about.
Barry just got to decide when he played? Was he injured or something?
When you are a top 3 player of all time you can show up to the stadium whenever you want
Barry’s head got bigger. Both in actual hat-size and emotionally 😂
Ruth and Williams were both better hitters. OPS+ takes care of the problem of eras.
Why would a LF/DH decide if a catcher is playing?
There was no DH in AJs days
Can someone explain to me why AJ gets so much hate?
Pete Rose is the best hitter of all time
Ichiro was better
Had above a 900 ops once. Good contact hitter but not an all time hitter by any means

Better batter, bonds. Gwynn was better at hitting the ball. Bonds was better at batting the ball. Big difference. Gwynn didn't change much for the team. Just his own personal stats. Bonds batting was game changing in the win loss column.

It's always the people who think bonds hitting hr is all due to steroids. Bonds elevated his fly ball rate around 2000 , and also lowered his ground ball rate. Significantly in both categories. Do you not believe in physics? Ground balls don't turn into fly balls , and certainly not homeruns from steroids. His change in hitting style and philosophy coincides with his alleged steroid use . But the truth is , without steroids, the only difference in his career numbers is he has more doubles and less homeruns. And even that is just purist wishful hopium. Almost all of his hrs after 2000 were hrs for anyone with such good contact swinging the bat, except ichiro
