Do you think the SSPX will consecrate new bishops this year?
Yes . Rome is dead and will not come back.
What are they waiting for? The approval of Francis? What if Francis doesn’t give his blessing on consecrating new bishops? Are they going to listen to him?
They simply need to reject this non Catholic, consecrate new bishops (which they clearly need), and fight for the faith, or give up and submit to the modernists (if they really want their blessing). But waiting this long seeking approval from modernist, while at the same time fighting against them, is confusing and makes no sense
I am a regular faithful of the SSPX (Switzerland), and the SSPX priests have been told to prepare their faithful to the idea of new bishops. So we were told it will happen for sure they don't know when exactly yet.
Hopefully this year?
If they do without the Pope Francis consent then it proves that the SSPX is disobedient and therefore a ban can be imposed of the TLM and he is right that the SSPX weaponizes the liturgy.

@@timcusack9388 Summorum Pontificum from Pope Benedict gave authority to all Priests to say the Latin Mass (understand that SSPX was not intended audience). This letter was issued to comply with the SSPX reconciliation requirement that Priests be allowed to say the Latin Mass of their own accord. There still remained "questionable" Vatican 2 doctrinal statements (from a "Pastoral Council") that require resolution. One of these, for example, is "religious freedom" that contradicts Church Tradition. Other anomalies can be cited. Now, Francis (smell the sheep, merciful man of the people) trashed Benedict's letter. But at the same time granted authority to SSPX to conduct the Sacraments. "Partial Unity" is like being a "little pregnant." You either are or are not. So from Popes of Vatican 2 there are different standards and ways of thinking. This is "Protestant Think" and not the mind of the Church for nearly 2000 years. In logic this is a non-sequitor. Think about this. Attend the Latin Mass.

I will absolutely look for an SSPX parish in my area if the Latin Mass is once again stolen from me! I was born in 1970, I am a cradle Catholic who was raised in the Novus Ordo. I fell away for many years, from the watered down faith I was being feed. I did not know the Truths of our faith. My teachings were all drenched in the errors of Modernism. It was only by the grace of God that I came to find the Latin Mass, which I didn’t even know existed. I thank Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre everyday for all that he endured to make sure THE MASS was preserved for us. I pray that one day Archbishop Lefebvre will be recognized as the Saint I believe him to be.
Francis is going to excommunicate Vigano. We need more Trad Bishops now.

Uronically, because of the ambiguous canon in the New Code regarding the fulfillment of one’s Sunday obligation (i.e., “wherever Mass is celebrated in a Catholic rite”) many liberally-minded bishops and priests will apply this in the “spirit of ecumenism” to the divine services offered by the schismatic and heretical Orthodox, but not to the Masses celebrated by priests of the SSPX!
Schism involves a refusal to accept the existence of legitimate authority in the Church.

What is the point of seeking Francis’s permission if they will only do it anyway if he says “no you can’t consecrate Bishops”?

@@StAnthonyPaduaRadTrad Yeah, it really just seems like a show. The reality is that they will just keep doing what they want, regardless of what Rome or the bishops in whose territories that operate say.
@@StoaoftheSouth it’s not about ‘doing what they want’, but in fact doing what is necessary in this unprecedented crisis in the Church. I recommend searching for the SSPX podcast series on the crisis in the church to understand their positions.
Question: Is only one bishop necessary for the consecration of a new bishop? And aren't the traditional three consecrators a custom that is not necessary is Canon Law?
For some strange reason Francis has been relatively favorable to the SSPX. It will be interesting to see how he reacts. I hope not another round of excommunications.

Thank God my SSPX isn't a part of the Diocese. We mind our own business and filter out the Novus whiners and their name calling. Most Novus come to our parish and stick out with their dress etc; they don't like veils and dress very casually. They chitchat. Most leave at communion as if the place stinks. In short, they're liberals.

Doesn’t sound very welcoming! I’ve attended SSPX masses for almost 25 years and this looks like a holier than thou attitude.

Vigano says his views are Lefebrves views. I think the SSPX will be cut off causing a formal schism in the church
He says that but they just aren't. Vigano has been one of them from the beginning. Now he may be having a change of heart but he's far from Lefebvre. It's not even the same circumstance. Vigano has accused a lot of things he never proved. Lefebreve never said the Pope wasn't the pope either. He recognized that the faith was under attack and had to do what he had to do out of desperation. Just like now, the bishops are completely wore out, they can't keep up at their age and there is no other way. The SSPX is flourishing with good fruit and must continue to bring souls to God.

Pope Francis has granted the SSPX faculties to hear confessions without limitation and to officiate at marriages, with the permission of the local ordinary. Their status has changed significantly.
I’ve decided not to worry anymore about the SSPX or other rogue Catholics as I’m sure the Illumination of Conscience will sort them out.

Marist. It is good that you are viewing orthodox Catholic material. Perhaps this will help you distinguish between Francis trash and traditional Catholicism. Pray for the Holy Father that he is converted and saved. What glory in Heaven to those that bring an errant Pope with them.
@@marccrotty8447 I believe you mean well and nothing I say will change your mind which is why I leave it all in God’s Hands. I was strictly TLM (SSPX) until my barriers to the New Mass slowly started coming down. I went from hating Pope Francis to truly believing that he is the successor of St Peter. I owe my conversion of heart to St Padre Pio and I can only hope and pray that many Catholics will trust God and His plans.
Whatever happens, don’t let the devil rob you of your peace. In the end Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart will triumph 🩵
@@Marist_Chanel It is highly unusual to find anyone moving from the Traditional Latin Mass to the Novus Ordo rite. One developed through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit from the Apostles onwards. The other was formed by a committee consisting of modernists and heretics over four years. Its purpose is not to give offense to Protestants. More than half the prayers are removed. One is the true Sacrifice of Christ on Calvary. The other a community meal. Francis and all Popes should fulfill the duties of that office. He is clearly not following Christ. Read his letters on: divorce and civil marriage, SSA blessing, banning of the Mass of All Ages, and more. Were you were called out by a tradition Priest for some issue or perhaps a sin confessed? Your understanding of Church Doctrine and Tradition should be improved. Attend the Latin Mass.
