Today I'm reviewing "Handling the Undead," a Norwegian horror mystery film, directed by Thea Hvistendahl from a screenplay by Hvistendahl and John Ajvide Lindqvist, based upon the novel of the same name by Lindqvist. It stars Renate Reinsve, Bjørn Sundquist, Bente Børsum, Anders Danielsen Lie, Bahar Pars and Inesa Dauksta.

Synopsis:
On a hot summer day in Oslo, the dead mysteriously awaken, and three families are thrown into chaos when their deceased loved ones come back to them. Who are they, and what do they want? Handling the Undead is a drama with elements of horror about three families, a story about grief and loss, but also about hope and understanding of what we can't comprehend or control.

The source novel was written by the same author who wrote Let the Right One In. I remember thinking this novel was more subdued than LtROI, so it makes sense the film might follow suit. Appreciate your review!

Thanks for an honest review! The book was a slow burn to nowhere and the film was even worse. The dead come back to life and these people are like 'welp, the corpse can sleep in my bed.'
