Pretty sure you can hire a freelancer to create a functional app mockup (working UI but no neal functionality) of the banking app. Also curiously, there already IS a "mobile banking simulator" by bank of america. So maybe they swiped the code for a mockup from there. There are a few other ways as well like: Rebuilding the Bank of America UI as a hosted website, then saving the website as an app (app = link to website in this instance) on your homescreen.

    to spencer:
you can easily fake it with simple scripts, you can use Tempermonkey extension to automate things/hold your scripts and execute them,
so when he visits that page/domain, he can easily target html elements and change them however he wants, everything the javascript programming language allows you to do on a page
which in this case would only require changing a few numbers
never trust anyone refreshing their browser, it means literally nothing if they have scripts running in the back
edit: someone said it's an app on his phone, then this above doesn't count at all, but, he pressed an icon with bank of america image, doesn't mean that's the real app he opened, could've been a fake shallow copy

There's a billion ways you can fake those accounts (pun intended). Some that come to mind are simply making a clone app with fake numbers or something like spoofing the services with a local proxy and return whatever you want it to display on the apps. Kinda like how those people that mess with scammers have fake bank accounts with fake money. It's probably justa clone app though.

On my iPhone 14 pro and I think most the face recognition turns GREEN when confirming NOT BLUE. I’m pretty sure it was the same on my 11 and SE as well as 5S. As I recall, Bank of America is also Red when you login but maybe that could be changed, but the Face ID is definitely green and his turned blue. So I’d imagine it would be as easy as being a programmer or using something like Django where the code is auto generated and you fill in the blanks. You can easily make a functional program or app you could test on your iPhone.

Maybe it's different in the US... but where i'm from, in my bank's mobile app, you need to verify (log-in) each time you open the app, either with password, one-time generated pin, fingerprint, retina scan, or face scan.
He didn't use a damn thing to log-in.
There is a chance that he may have a dummy app, made to look like the original.
I have in my bank accounts a lot less (slash 4 zeroes) and i have a private banker (person of contact at the bank) and they call me regularly to invest/move my money around. Also, they are distributed between multiple accounts (local currency, EURO, multiple deposit accounts, investment portfolio).
With the amount this rug-rat is claiming he has in a SINGLE account the CEO of Bank of America would personally come to him to present investment options.

The cash app thing, I'm pretty sure it's his own accounts but he called them different names. There are cons out there I learned about where a con man would pretend to send them interest payments through an organization, but it was just a name on a checking account. There is nothing stopping you from naming your checking account or business account however you wish and I'm sure for cash app you could make a bunch of accounts that all route to you. Lots of apps let you have multiple aliases as an option.

This can be faked in an app using a man in the middle on the network. For example, you could connect to your wifi network and intercept the traffic matching the url/endpoint which retrieves that data from Bank of America and then you can replace the values with whatever you want. It's not as simple as using a script to change elements on the page as I have seen others suggest, but intercepting requests like this and faking their responses is one potential way of accomplishing this and the same method could be used for the fake cash app money sending. Admittedly it requires a fair bit of technical skill and a number of apps like this may have SSL certificate pinning to protect against these attacks from attackers (aka not when you're intercepting your own traffic) but I'm pretty confident it was something along these lines.

For webpages you can just edit the html in your browser to fake the screenshots. There's an analogous setup for mobile apps that's a bit more involved but you can make the visual scaffold of an app relatively easily (Face ID integration etc. are probably in widely available libraries) you just wouldn't have a real banking app. Perfect for screenshots. There's a guy who did something like this to scam scammers. He'd show them a screenshot of a cashapp transaction to get them to send him some money. It was actually just a cahsapp UI clone.
