- Long time no see. I recently read the new WOF book and wanted to make a PMV out of a character that i thought was interesting so boom here a whole video, i rarely make those nowadays :(

When Lizard hatched, she had no choice but to give herself to the Breath of Evil. She has been stuck with the plant her whole life. No family, no friends, no chance to feel like a real dragon. She has never seen the sun for herself, never smelled fresh air, never experienced love or joy. All she wanted was the feeling of being alive and big. She never got that chance, and YES, she did try to take memories from thousands of dragons. Yes, she did take guardian after guardian. She did trap Luna and Dusky, but remember who made her live this life. Remember who made her live for five thousands years with nothing. To survive, she had to rely on an evil plant and Cottonmouth. By the end of Luna’s visit, Lizard got a new name and a new reputation. She got a good story and a bad one. Lizard is now Freedom. A name to remind people that they are free and they have a chance to make things right. You were a great character, Freedom.

I think the best part about freedom is that, taking the breath of evil as a metephor for humanity: the plant is the need to conquer, spread and thrive, cotton mouth is the representation of greed and lack of conscience, but above all else freedom is the ability for change and taking of a better path. and at least for me, that makes a memorable character, no mater how little time we get with her.
Agreed!! She’s super memorable and I hope that Luna and Cricket make sure that her story becomes known. Freedom deserved better.
Of all the dragons in the series, Freedom definitely deserved a second chance, and noone can convince me otherwise.
And I really wish that there could be a secne of Freedom, Peacemaker, Firefly, Cliff, Auklet, Bumblebee, Dusky, and Mink all playing together as that would be the definition of cute, wholesome, and perfect.

I just imagined an image of her watching those dragonets playing with each other as just a little spirit on a rock in the background
Freedom's story made me cry actually. And I normally don't get super emotional over a book or movie character. It made my blood boil and unfortunately, real animals go through what she did in our world, at the hands of people like Cottonmouth. She never got to grow up, feel love. She was cheated out of a life she should've had, but instead of learning from her experience, she continued the vicious cycle she was put through. And she hurt so many dragons because of it. It's kind of saddening the only reason she broke that cycle was through an outside force, but I'm glad she was able to escape what was literally, a hell on earth.
Okay I'm done now.
She was such an interesting character. Her story is just so so tragic.
She's definately my favorite character right now, I was really close to tears when she died.

Freedom’s death was so so sad why couldn’t she live? Out of all dragons. Two thirds of a book did she exist in and wow she’s my second or third favourite character tied with Whiteout. WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY
The realisation that cutting half the vine didn’t work and that she had to die just so freaking sad the worst (as in it broke me) scene in Wings Of Fire literally can’t think of any scene that has me crying more
freedom's character ark was the five stages of greif, and at the tail end of that is acceptance, hence having her live would undo that

I actually cried over this scene. Freedom has earned her place as my favorite character in the whole series, and watching her die was actually heartbreaking. If my channel ever gets more popular, I will scour the internet for the perfect song for a Freedom map. Nobody can stop me.

Freedom was such a powerful character. She never had a chance. Nothing, no life, she never got to be a dragon. But in the end, she gave others what she could never have, freedom, the chance to be who they are. This PMV is beautiful and I shed a few tears watching, you’ve earned a sub.
the unfortunate part was no matter what there was nothing they could do to save Freedom. Just as dusky said, Freedom was already dead. They were simply setting her free.
When i was first introduced to freedom and absolutely despised her, like she just said randomly to Luna and Dusky "Give me your memories". She seemed spoiled and entitled but further into the book and how more of her past was revealed, i learned to love her. I hate what Cottonmouth did too her. Freedom even denied that her mother burned down a human village to find her. When she finally told Luna to cut the breath of evil i was so scared that she was going to die. When i realized she was alive i was overjoyed and because Tui is Tui, Freedom died. I definitely cried enough tears to fill a pool. I actually liked her relationship with Dusky and how when he hugged her, she didn't push him away or recoil. Other than that, i quite liked this book (and completely went fan girl mode when i found out axolotl was non-binary and Pineapple was dating Jambu).

it hit a lot harder listening to the audiobook. completely destroyed me. whoever read the audiobook, they were incredible with bringing life to the characters. ESPECIALLY Freedom.
I love how everyone who’s read the book by now are in love with Dusky and Freedom

Some people are sad about DARKSTALKER being defeated, but then there's THIS DRAGON-
honestly I kinda get why people at first were so shocked by Freedom's end (aside from the fact she didn't deserve to end like that, or at all)
I get the possible triggers
but I really wish there was a way to break the breath of evil tie and still have her be able to survive
I really hope the next books tui said she was going to make include Freedom in some way, It'd be awful to meet Freedom and then see her being ignored for the closure books

I’m really hoping that when Animus magic comes back, Luna finds a way to bring Freedom back in some form or they make a spin off book of what her life could have been.
Idea: Boa only said animuses that where alive could not use animus magic, but what about their children? Could turtle have a child, and it's an animus and can use its power?
…but… animus magic can’t bring dragons back from the dead. That was why Darkstalker didn’t bring back Clearsight, or Turtle and Anemone didn’t bring back her father. Also why Nobody brought back Kestrel, if they wanted to.

Freedom/Lizard is my favourite character, although she was mean and trapped Luna and Dusky for their memory’s, but she had no choice to give her life to a plant, never feel what it was like to be truly alive.

I've just finished the new book, and I have to say I really loved Freedom's character. Her story is honestly heartbreaking, she deserved better.

I have an AU idea for her. I'll need to get the book, but I love what I've read of her. Her story is just really sad, and the fact that she gave her life up so the Breath of Evil could be destroyed is so heartbreaking and selfless.
So, what if Meganeura (an OC) had been with Luna in that place? She herself is a kind and caring dragon, and had gotten hold of an egg that was a dud. She offers Lizard to take the egg as a vessel, where she can be reborn as an all new dragon, with a new life and a family that loves her. More specifically, she and her mother, Quickwit, would take her in.
(This sounds terrible. I'll have to work on it if I bring it to life)

I just finished the book, and I feel bad for poor Freedom, I really like this PMV though, it sheds light on a dragon I personally like.

As sad as Freedoms story is, I like to think of it from Dusky’s point of view- she’s already dead, they were just setting her free from the Breath of Evil. Even though I still cried at the end of the book (SHHHHH WE DONT TALK ABOUT THAT) it makes it a bit better.
This is one of the saddest characters in all of Wings of Fire, as Freedom never had a choice but to give up her life to the Breath of Evil. She is one of my favorite characters. And, if we see her in future books, you will not know how happy I will be. Cottonmouth was straight up evil, and Freedom seemed evil at first, too, but she was mad for a reason. Having to survive off the Breath of Evil for five thousand years is just way more cruel than you could imagine. You were a good character, Freedom.
Freedom is such a tragic character. The first thing that happened to her straight out of her egg was death. But then, as if that wasn’t bad enough, she was forced against her will for her conscious to “live” by the side of a horrible human being. Think about all of the other dragonet’s memories. Being loved by their mothers and fathers. Making friends. Having fun. Experiencing love. Other dragons around them. Peace. But Freedom(I will not call her Lizard if my life depended on it) never got any of that. She never had love. Friends. Family. But most of all, she didn’t even have BAD memories. Like a fight. All she had was a cave. Empty, dark cave, filled with her and Cottonmouth’s trapped souls, of what felt like forever. She was never loved. She had nothing. Never given the chance. And when she finally had a chance to help someone, in exchange for her life… she accepted. After everything she’d been through. So much pain and suffering just for her to die. But in my eyes, she did have a happy ending. She was given a new name. A new meaning. She died helping the ones she had only ever loved. And those had loved her back. She technically died peacefully. She could have kept on letting dragons and humans die in her talons. But she didn’t. She saved everything. Freedom did it, after everything she’d been through. She died with love and wanted peace. And it worked. We love you, Freedom.
I cryed about how the story of freedom turned ot this was so touching and sad it really made me an emotional mess
Depicting Cottonmouth as a snake is such a good excuse for not drawing a human, man humans are hard to draw

To be honest, I think wings of fire is actually one of the rare fandoms. Meaning that it’s bleached - clean. No vore, no heat, yada yada you get it. I’m proud to be apart of this fandom

When I first read about her, I was soo sad😢 But at the ending I was crying a bit because I didn't want her to leave😭

Y'know of we had Animus magick we could have given her a chance. Don't care if it wouldn t been as realistic' of we can't give everyone a second chance. We forgive villains who actually WILLINGLY we being bad people who KNEW a life of peace and still choose violence and hatred. But Freedom wasn't allowed that. But sure let the dragons who willingly enslaved another race and another who experimented on another get it easy.
