Interesting detail to add the shanks scar on the "to be continued" when we know thats Blackbeards attack that scarred shanks and he seems to be focused on blackbeards current location while easily dealing with kid and his crew.
Shanks was always the one that followed Blackbeard's movements, warned Whitebeard about him and still tries to find him. Blackbeard winning ofscreen is no joke, he is for sure hiding his real powers and only Shanks has experienced that

This exact scenario is what gave us the "Nothing Happened" moment with Zoro.
I mean, we literally got that when Zoro and Sanji offered to die in place of Luffy back in Thriller Bark. They were willing to give up their dreams to make sure Luffy will have a shot at his.
They’ll fight at first, but the minute they know they can’t win, they’ll try to protect Luffy even if it means surrendering.
If the opponent gave them an out to spare Luffy’s life they would. Otherwise yes they wouldn’t surrender.

Man shanks actually puts his sword back as soon as he goes back to his crew. Which makes the scene even more badass. They had him put back his sword on Kidd‘s ship.
I wouldn't be surprised if Shanks developed that level of future sight against Mihawk. Only way to beat someone like that is to be able to see just as far ahead so it equalizes.

Definitely the most powerful and impressive looking sword attack by far!
The biggest difference is Luffy wouldn't have gone insta kill final move mode on a bunch of weak pirates right off the bat.
Once Shanks saw that murderous intent in Kidd, it was no mercy.
Kidd had to use awakening to blast 6 ships, ace was doing that with basic fire fist, not saying kidd is weak I just find that funny lol

Kid was braindead if he thought he had any chance against a Yonko, especially one that mainly specializes in haki alone, considering how Kid struggles with basic haki loooool. Remember, like you said even though Kid along with Law was tanking attacks from BM, she never even used acoc, let alone acoc + acoa like she could. Even then, it's almost an outlier feat for them, with how BM never even showed actual yonko lvl haki against them.
Do remember, both Law and Kid were getting one tapped immobilized by a simple thunder bagua from a normal hybrid Kaido who was severely holding back. Even a Luffy who split the skies just mins later was doing no dmg to Kaido who was just standing there taking hits to his face when he started using adv haki a bit more srsly and started to defend with it as well along with his natural durability stacked on top.
Kid doesn't even know what advanced haki is lmao, he took one look at Luffy's acoa and he went like "Wh...What is that ??!!". He didn't even see Luffy using acoc to attack Kaido a bit later, only Law saw that lol. Kid truly had his "frog in a well, know how big the world is..." moment here that Zoro had when he first fought Mihawk looooool. This was only to be expected considering he's never fought a yonko 1 on 1 and never managed to unlock atleast one type of adv haki. This can very easily be seen in -

Mihawk spends his time living off the exploits of others. The guy was literally in a war where the most powerful people in the world were gathered but couldn't beat any of them. Since appearing in the manga, he has never defeated a big name, nor even shown anything that would suggest he could do so. But since Shanks carries a sword that's enough for you it's just ridiculous.

I think Sanji would give up the rubbings. With Luffy and Zoro down, he's next in charge. He was ready to give up his life to save Luffy on Thriller Bark. He would do whatever is necessary to save his captain(and Zoro)
For the people overhyping Shanks and Mihawk using this feat and crapping on Kidd, Kaido and Big Mom. Just look at the context:
Shanks caught Kidd off-guard and unable to dodge/defend as his railgun is preventing him from doing so. Reminders that Kaido can KO Oden and Luffy while they are distracted like Kidd here. He's literally aiming at the fodder.
Then you should also look at the context:
Kidd took all that damage in wano and still didn't go down.
He fought kaido, big mom, plus damage due to basil Hawkins
He didn't go down even after that.
One attack from shanks and kidd and killer were dead.
Scale shanks and Mihawk however you want. Both are top tier in the verse. Kaido and big mom are both weaker.

I don’t think so either but it was more so a hypothetical. Like another Kuma/Thriller Bark scenario where Luffy is out, and the rest of the crew have fought and lost, and know that they can’t win. Which I guess kinda answered itself since they’ve already surrendered before. Granted I doubt it’ll happen anymore considering their strength but Luffy’s life and dream are more important than anything else. (Which the poneglyphs can easily be acquired)
