I love waterfalls. I love photographing waterfalls. When I go to the mountains, I always think that if nothing else, I can always photograph the waterfalls.
Dude, your shots and videos are top tier. Absolutely love what you can create in those gorgeous landscapes.
Michael, you are the master of Waterfall details. Beautiful work and results
Beautiful images as always, Michael! I'm totally loving all of these waterfalls that you've been showing. I can't wait to experience one for myself in Oregon!
Glad you like them, thanks so much!
I’m going to Iceland in two weeks and recently got into photography. I’ve been binge watching your videos and there’s a lot of good advice! Thanks Michael!
thanks so much, have fun!
Great watch and lovely photos
Sticking to one location for a period of time pays off. Showing the results of different shutter speeds was helpful and the isolated images were my favorite. A series of abstracts from this shoot would make for an interesting wall display. You certainly demonstrated that patience and practice result in creating some beautiful images. Thanks for the video.
Hey thanks so much, I would love to print some of these abstracts out, thats a great idea!
Nice ideas and explanations. Thanks!
Thanks so much!
My love took me here early in our relationship over nine years ago. Thank you for taking me back. 💖
Excellent photos. You really have a good eye for finding those compositions.
Yeay!! I finally got the chance to watch this and wow what a wonderful video it was! Absolutely love all the images!
Cheers
Always a pleasure to watch your videos.
EXCELLENCE as always Michael. Thank you!
Michael, you are probably my favorite photographer that I follow (most are in Europe). Of course, you have great subjects (fog, clouds, sea, waterfalls, etc.) and I was raised in Southern Cal but moved to Southern Nevada in middle school and still here. I always wanted to photography the Golden Gate Bridge and love your work on that bridge too, but I get jealous that you can go there all the time with different weather patterns. I grew to hate the desert but when I seriously got into studying photography and bought great equipment, I fell in love with the desert too. No matter where you live, you can explore your environment and fall in love with it and cause other to love it too with your photos. Just thought I would show my appreciation for your art. Thanks
You are in my neck of the woods!
Thank you Michael, you´re doing great!
Just beautiful. Some of those images are eerily similar to images of Nebulas, from the James Webb and Euclid telescopes.
Great instruction Michael, thank you. Phenomenal results, Wow!
Thanks for watching!
Great images! Just when I was getting a bit bored with photographing waterfalls, I see this and am inspired again. That shot near the end with the dipper on a rock is just wonderful!
Really enjoyed this video and the images you created. I love your style and your tips are appreciated.
Great images for sure!!
Love the shots and your thoughts on seeing waterfalls differently. Great work mate.
Thanks a ton!
Wonderful video. I’ve never really thought about using my telephoto lens for waterfall photos. Thanks for the insight.
Great video, Michael. Thanks. Milanote looks pretty cool too!

Your shots came out amazing!!

Love this one! Gorgeous shots, great tips, and that awesome, mellow, breath of fresh air vibe -- thank you for taking us with you on your adventures!!
Thanks so much!
I liked the abstract 11:54 the most.
Really glad you like that one, its one of my favorites as well!
Fabulous!
thank you!
I just love those abstract images where I'm looking at elements and thinking to myself "what even is this?" Once again insightful and thoughtful. There are only a few who produce such consistently high quality videos with brilliant images. I always feel a rush of excitement when I see you've uploaded a new adventure for us.
I really appreciate is Dom, thanks for the kind words and support!
Amazing ideas and stunning photos! Think you've convinced me to pull the trigger on a 50-400...
Just stunning.
Thanks Chris!
Stunning, original images. Love the one at 11:56
The rainbow photographs looked like distant nebula's. Waterfalls are my favourite waterscapes to photograph.
I really enjoy your contents Michael and you've given me a lot of ideas in terms of composition. Happily subscribed to your channel.
I really appreciate that, thanks for subscribing!
Excellent. Truly!
Hey thanks so much!
Wonderful images, Michael !!!! That vertical image with the rainbow, at the 9:04 mark is just astounding.
Thanks so much Mark!
Some of my best waterfall images ever were taken at FCF. Love this place!
So beautiful images! Congratulations!
Many thanks!
Love the out of focus shots! 😍
Glad you like them! thanks!
Those images are insane man amazing work 🔥
Thanks man, hope all is well!
Chefs kiss as always. I always wonder how you do it.
I seem to fight my sigma 100-400 when it comes to these kinds of shots. No idea why but it always misses focus even manually with focus peaking on.
But images like this are why I hold onto it. I only dream of finally getting stuff like this. Thanks for always being an incredible inspiration.
Ur the best Landscape photographer really ❤
That is very kind of you to say, thanks so much!
Inspired. Inspiring. Beautiful. Makes me wanna go shoot. Thank you.
Thanks so much, definitely go shoot!
Gorgeous cascading falls, and no wonder you spent a few hours there. Fantastic creative images!
Thanks so much Alex!
Good job, stunning rainbow pictures.
Thank you! Cheers!
11:53 that is EPIC ❤😮
You're the best, bar none.
Very nice sir! The image @ 9:25 looks like a rainbow apparition appearing out of the mist. As for enjoying the experience, I did just that this weekend. I drove around my Vegas hood for about 500 miles and took hundreds of images. So enjoyable and therapeutic.
Oh wow thats a ton of driving! You must have gotten a lot of cool stuff!
@@MichaelShainblum No "Shainblums", but I was happy with quite a few of them!
Thanks for another fun photography video. Especially nice to see FCF which is one of my favorite waterfalls ever. Cheers from Vancouver island
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you! Also I would love to visit your neck of the woods someday!
Awesome video as usual. It's helpful to me to see the area you're working in without a refined composition first, so I can better learn what to look out for. Especially for long exposures it's cool to see what the scene looks like beforehand.
Glad it was helpful, thank you!
Inspiring!
thank you!
I have to give you credit for my recent purchase of the Sigma 100-400mm for Sony. I’ve been struggling for months to decide on a long zoom. As much as I liked the idea of either the Sony 100-400mm or the 200-600mm, I just didn’t like the size and weight. Seeing all the amazing images you’ve been able to capture with the Sigma helped me to decide on it. Couldn’t be happier with it. Optics are great and the size helps make it easy to bring with me.
That is so awesome to hear! Its a great lens for the price!
Good stuff man! You should really visit Ramona Falls near Mt Hood
Thanks Dan, I love it out there!
I LOVE your watefall videos... great slow motion of the falls. I recognize the first one but where was the second one? Was it the same place? I went to it before but didn't have time to explore
thanks so much most of the video takes place in the same spot just different angles. But at the end I share images from various spots around Eugene OR. There a couple example shots mixed in from Mt Hood and Wahclella Falls.
great video and some great shots. Would you say filters are essential to fully explore waterfall photography?
Thanks! Hmmm well I would definitely recommend them as they open up a lot of possibilities for different shots. But you can get away with photographing waterfalls if you do not have them, you would be a bit more limited though.
Wonderful as always but I'd really like to know how you shot those slo-mo clips of the rapids! I have an idea how but I'm very curious what you used.
Thank you! So the ones where it looks like I am in the water I use a go-pro attached to a 12 foot pole, I should really do a full video on it haha. For the long lens slowmo stuff I just do those on my A7S camera from afar.
@@MichaelShainblum Hey, thanks for the reply! That's kind of what I figured. Looks really nice!
I know that ND filters are best for long exposures. Would it be best to use a CPL filter for fast shutter speeds and water-flow?
CPLs are for cutting out reflected light. This can help foliage look more vivid and cut out reflections on water. So it really depends on what you are shooting. For those first long exposures the CPL helped to simplify some of the rock in the shot. But for most of the other images in the video I didn't need the CPL.
All of this is very interesting, but what about shutter speed? Some pointers, at least?
???
Bir G Master lens almalısın
Hmmm definitely a good lens, but I do not feel as though I need it. I am quite happy with this one.
@@MichaelShainblum Sony sana hediye olarak bir 100 400 g master lens vermeliydi kesinlikle. Telefoto kralısın.
