@@CMAutohaus my plan is 300 miles, 1,000 miles, 3,333 miles. Then every 3,333 miles thereafter. In general it makes for a total of 3 oil changes every 10k.
@@sneff1052 it’s not the manufacturers fault. It’s the federal government mandating that costs of vehicles should not exceed a certain point. What’s happening is the manufacturers are extending the oil change intervals and other fluid intervals in order to reduce the “cost to own per year”. This allows them to publicly state that their vehicle is cheap to maintain on an annual basis which meets federal minimum. It doesn’t matter that it screws you in the long run, the government does not care. Sadly, this is why even Toyota is recommending 7,000 to 10,000 miles between oil changes… it’s because they don’t have a choice.
I’m curious to see if they made any changes to the production of the 2024’s. I’m also curious if they ever started to fix the excessive RTV for the 23s. I have a 08/23 production GR86 and it seems like it was getting slightly better from the 07/23 one you dropped. I have 11k miles and I’m not sure what to do as I could wait for the warranty to end, or if I should just take precautionary measure now.
The colored specs are the handful of sprinkles that Akio Toyoda himself put in the engine
Holding out on a gr86 until cmauto gives the greenlight! Otherwise ima just get a s2000/nd3 mx5
The upcomming Verus oil pan may be the answer. Oil strainer cleanig at the same time when installing the oil pan.
@@CMAutohauswouldn’t adding RTV make the issue re emerge? Wonder if a long lasting gasket could fix the problem.
@@AntilleanConfederationyou need to add rtv to seal it. As long as you dont put too much (which is the problem) you should be ok
Placed an order for a 2024 GR86 Premium (6MT) and already planning on an oil pan drop at 300 miles.
1000 miles is what we recommend so that the excess RTV and "junk" has the time to work its way out of the engine

@@ToyotaGR86PerformanceI'm very suspicious of manufacturer oil change intervals but that is excessive with modern oils.

Toyota sucks in 2024. Never thought the day would come.
Profits over quality. I saw the writing on the wall the moment the new Supra was announced to be a BMW 🤢🤮
