and then they did.
That's the earliest I've ever seen Tom hit the button in a performance. He usually waits til the end to make sure they are good the whole way. Ended up winning with her so I guess he knows what he's doing haha.

Danny was looking like "damn she got range" Tom was looking like "I want her and we can win together". I'm glad that she won too. She done what she had to do in the auditions and battle rounds. Then along the way, she got better and better. Her voice is out of this world!! Beautiful. That F5 she hit was on point too.

She did amazing, but no one can top Beyonce.

bryan pijpers I love me some Adele….but to compare the 2 voices is near impossible. This young woman has a voice more along the lines of a Mariah or Christina (though Christina singing in the video, of 'Say Something'…is so gorgeous, and I am not a fan of Christina's…but that performance, which was secondary to the main vocalist and pianist, was so understated, for her, and she looked gr8 and just sang, quietly and very introspectively…and that song and performance, might change my mind about Christina A.) whereas Adele is much more dramatic,and emotionally but quietly charged, like she is ready, at any time, to take those pills or slice a wrist and she is taking us on the ride, with her, as a singer who is also a story teller…! Both are very good but very different and therefore, very hard to compare. I am glad Leanne won, for her sake, of course but also think that if Adele auditioned for one of these shows, that she would not make it, as she is a taste that comes with time and needs to be understood, over time. A long story. People auditioning on these shows, and I say this generally and is my opinion only, (thusly, worth nothing at all)….have to come out and nail it, right off the bat so there is no time for story telling or too much introspection and if you ever look at one of the RUclips video's of the 'most emotional moments of X Factor, The Voice, BGT, AGT, Idol' etc…those who sung so emotionally and moved, even, the judges, never win the prize in the end. Only exception I can think of are the winners of this years US X Factor, Alex and Sierra, who came out as themselves, quirky and neurotic, sang 'Toxic' by Brittany (another singer whom I think is awful, just plain awful, and crazy and not sexy at all)…stripped down to just the melody with their harmonies, and stayed themselves, neuroses and all, throughout, and won. They are the only exception. Neither have gr8 voices, but the way they expose themselves and their relationship, is just amazing. Also, thinking about it, the winners of this years BGT, a shadow dance company from Hungary, Attraction, who without uttering a word, moved their bodies in shadow dancing telling stories, and blew everyone, including the judges, away. I cried at their audition. Anyway, sorry to have gone on and on and on…if you've even read thus far….just wanted to point out why I feel the comparison with Adele, difficult as they are so different. Why compare? This show is not about singing a song better than the original artist. It is about doing the song justice and making the performance unique in your own voice.
Elann C You are right and I agree, which is why I write that comparing this singer to Adele was like comparing apples and oranges. They can't be compared as their styles are completely different which is good, because if everyone sang songs the same way, we would be intensely bored. No? Every singer, from Beyonce to Adele to Ms. Mitchell, above, has something to offer a song that is theirs and has to do with their experiences. No point in comparing. Peace Out!

You are supposed to over sing it to show the judges your range and vocal talent. Basically to show them what you got.

It's sad because I watched this right after I discovered the Beyoncé song and now whenever I listen to the original I just feel disappointed that Beyoncé didn't hit any big notes or didn't do anything fancy like this girl did in her audition, she just keeps it plain and boring so I have to say I like this audition better then the original

Beyonce could've hit notes if she wanted too. Everybody knows she would blow it away if she did. But she kept it low ranged on purpose. This woman just did a cover. So she can do whatever she wants with the song

I think Jessie and Will did not turn because they realized they could not coach such a voice. I like Jessie's singing but she's very much into effects, gimmicks, clothing etc. in short, putting up a show! Will is even more into it. And you can clearly tell just by listening to Leanne, that her voice is the opposite of all that, it's old school simplicity, which is perfect for Tom Jones.
basically because shes too good
not being your strong point doesnt mean you cant coach other singers, to coach you mostly need knowledge of how things work or should work, for example a singer whose range isnt that high can still coach people with a higher range if they know enough about it.
im not saying they could coach her, im just saying that being able to sing and being able to coach in the same genre/style are two very different things.
One example of her vocal control and her amazing voice is she sinsing Nobody's perfect with Vince kidd... just amazing, she don't need to be jealous of anyone to have talent...
