Liss starts with a wonderfully breathy delivery. She hit the key change spot on and then powered the song into another dimension. One of the best technical performances of the series so far. Nearly flawless! She has a wonderful easiness on stage and looks like she belongs there. I get the feeling she will be able to handle anything that's thrown her way, and with such talent her song choice (the great Achilles heel of so many performers on this show) should be less of a problem as the competition progresses. I think we have just seen one of the top contenders set the bar for others to reach.

I know now it is Katy Perry's, which has over 786 million views on RUclips as of today. Having heard Liss' rendition and then listened to Katy Perry's, Liss' live performance here was astonishing. It was structured differently, was more rocky, more passionate, and she made it her own. A superb performance. She'll go far, if she is given original songs to record.
This was my favourite audition of the night. The only problem I had was that it went to the family cheering when she hit the good notes and I really wanted to hear them. I think she will get far. :)

So I enjoyed it all, seeing their reactions made me cry with pride, and then seeing Liss cry finished me!
I agree, Ellis. The prog is called the Voice & that's what u want to hear - esp this performance which builds to a crescendo -they seem to fade down the vocal & turn up the intrusive sounds of the buttons being hit & the cheering families just when the performance is reaching its climax!

Wow Liss, now this actually gives me tingly electric goosebumps all over (something i look for when listening to singers), and trust me that does not happen very often. You have a pure talent, i love your version and it's much more powerful than the original, i personally prefer your version, i love the grit in your voice too, can't wait to hear more from you, best of luck not though you need it lol :D x

That's like saying Queen Elizabeth shouldn't act all queenie and such! Maybe do her own laundry. By the way, I'm an American, but I followed the show last year. Christina should have won - hands down. Probably the best voice ever on the UK or the US version. The fact that she's not a major star now speaks volumnes about the Voice franchise.

I have to say, this is the better version of this song that i have heard in ANY talent show, and yeah, this is WAY better than Christina Grimmie's version. Grimmie has a great range but also she has a nassally squeaky tone, it feels like she is screeching,/screaming trough almost the half of the song. This girl has an amazing raspinnes in her voice, she is the best in Team Rita so far, she could reach the final and even WIN, i hope Rita don't let go this girl cause she could be the first female coach to win The Voice with her

I adore how Liss's friend up the back is crying - just like Julianne Moore!!! such a cutie!!!!!! He is such a good friend (or brother) - you can just see how supportive he is!!!
She is a wonderful, wonderful singer, with a tone reminiscent of the great Welsh singer, Bonnie Tyler. Her studio version of Straight Up is powerful too, and very controlled to follow the feeling. I would love to hear her voice very often on the radio, featuring on mega hits; I'd really miss hearing her if her voice wasn't everywhere.

Yes, they undergo a separate stage before the blind auditions to make sure only the best get to perform in front of the 4 stars in the blind audition.
