    I have no trouble with Bm, but I love this chord. It's so pretty, and fits perfectly if you immediately play a D-flat on the B-string for the next chord. Just a pretty sound IMHO. Also sounds great if you don't mute the open D-string.

    I didn't know there's an A note in a B minor chord, I thought there's a B, D and F#

    • @TwentyMinuteGuitarPlayer
      @TwentyMinuteGuitarPlayer  2 месяца назад

      You are completely right. The Bm I’m showing is a Bm with some extensions on to make it sound more interesting or “pretty”. The flat 3rd is the note that makes the chord minor so the “d” note here. The A would be an extension or ornamentation to give the chord more color!

      @@TwentyMinuteGuitarPlayer Thank you for replying, and thank you for the useful information.

    • @TwentyMinuteGuitarPlayer
      @TwentyMinuteGuitarPlayer  2 месяца назад

      @@alanhales6369 No problem! Thanks for watching! Hope my explanation helps. A minor triad is 1 b3 5.
      A minor 7th is 1 b3 5 b7. Then you can add the 9, 11, and 13 to spice the chord up more. Those are the extensions. The A in this case is the b7 making it a type of minor 7th. Then the “e” is the 11th and makes it a B minor 11th chord.

    Great video. But if you have been playing guitar for a while and you are struggling to play simple bar chords, then it probably means your action is too high and your guitar needs a proper set-up.

    • @TwentyMinuteGuitarPlayer
      @TwentyMinuteGuitarPlayer  Месяц назад

      Ya so true! High action can be a real discouragement, thanks for your comment!

    • @wulf67
      @wulf67 Месяц назад

      …or it could be the fact that barre chords are relatively difficult to play, especially for some individuals. The good news (as indicated in the video) is that hardly anyone ever plays entire barre chords. They’re more of a learning aid for memorizing the notes of the chord. Play me a barre chord, and I will show you a way to play it that’s faster, easier, and SOUNDS far better, especially on an acoustic. Open strings are what produce the rich harmonics that make an acoustic guitar sound so good. A barre chord is the opposite of that scenario.

    What you played didn't sound anything like a B.minor chord, it simply wasn't a B minor, and you're teaching beginers to play something that is completely wrong, beleiving they're playing the corect chord, that's an awful thing to do for beginers.

    • @TwentyMinuteGuitarPlayer
      @TwentyMinuteGuitarPlayer  4 месяца назад +1

      Thanks for watching! It’s actually a Bm11 chord! I use it all the time…it doesn’t fit all styles of music…you have to use it to taste like I said in the video! Sounds awesome!! I’m just curious, how is it completely wrong? Like in what way is it wrong to you?

    • @dennisberceles7387

      i agree with juan, your Bm isn't sound like Bm - that's B11 hahaha.
