Last month I purchased a 2023 Martin D 18 1937 authentic stage 1 aged at a music store in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee while passing through. One of the most beautiful sounding guitars I’ve owned and I’ve had many in my 67 years. 😀
Have owned 5 Martins, 3 at present. Favorite is my OMC16e Ovangkol, also a D12-28 and D35 on my wall. Looking for an OMC35 now (talked to John in your shop a couple weeks ago, had a tenor banjo with me). Excellent description of the Martin line. Looking for more songs to lift from you guys too. Enjoyed your hospitality in your shop.
I have a custom Martin Tenor with a baby dreadnaught body made in 1985. Polynesian KIA back & sides and European Spruce top. Beautiful sound with Phosphorous Bronze strings.
Looking into getting a D-15. Love the sound and need a full mahogany guitar. I have more expensive guitars in my collection but I think D-15 really represents the Martin sound. What you think?
Loving this video 😊 Under the "Body Styles" slide, neither the M36 or J40 are shown. Both are OOOO, but neither look like the Jumbo listed. John did briefly mention them 🙂👍
I've seen many people are selling their Martins and buying for half prices a Eastman or Recording King similar... It's a lot of cost for the brand name in these guitars...
Of all the authentics….. 1929/39….1937 or any of that time ….. which stands out as the best of that time (made today)? My guess is it’s a D-28 but which of those years?🙏
To me it sounds like I’m spending $500 to $800 for a Guitar made from cheap materials. When I could put that money into a guitar made in Indonesia or Japan from real wood. Has Martin priced themselves out of the market?
My favorite martin guitar is the000 15 sm 12 frett mahogany guitar. I have a 0028 modern delux and it is a lemon. I have played martins all of my life ,whoopee ... the only martin i would like to own at this point is the ceo 9 made from curly mango.
Hpl sucks, it doesn't look real and it isn't attractive just like the formica on your kitchen counter. Do you really want a guitar made out of formica. And at the price of 500, 750, dollars, that's crazy. Buy a Yamaha FG 830 a wooden guitar, solid spruce top, laminated rosewood back and sides, mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard and bridge, for 350 dollars, and it sounds better than the Hpl and x series Martins. A better guitar, a better sounding guitar, for half the money. It's a no-brainer.... Unless you're just one of those people that has to have the Martin logo on your head stock to make you feel good and warm and fuzzy inside...
You guys just wasted 15 minutes of my time looking at your video and I still have no clue which Martin I would like to buy what a waste of freaking time

Nice!
Thanks, John and Jeremy
I have 3 Martins and want another one. Great affordable guitars that will fit anybody’s budget.
Very informative guys! Thanks for sharing.

I believe the D10e is the only one in the road series that has solid back and sides, not laminate.
For the Authentic series, when you say "aged," are you referring to the "Vintage Tone System" (VTS) or "Relicing"?
VTS is Martin's term for torrified wood. Aged toner or aging is something else.
@texhaines9957 Thank you Sir... see ya Tuesday 🙂👍
You're a great American picker

I would never consider buying anything with a price ending in 99.
Hahaahahah. Lol😊
Maybe we should try ending with .88 🤔
😂😂
😂😂😂😂
What was the name of the song at the beginning of this video?
Farewell Angela
Yup, it was Farewell Angelina!

It’s the American way
No way I'd buy a premium guitar without a 2way truss rod.
The best thing you should do is not buy a Martin guitar. Sound beautiful. play like crap and Martin isn't in your corner
That brown one is ugly.

HPL makes a great tabletop for camping. You get a guitar and a Formica table all in one package.
And people make fun of my Ovation 🤷🏻♂️🤣🤣🤣🤣
