Being completely honest - I usually use the double tap for LTT and most other ads, even though it's just a 10 second plug in most cases. I pretty much always watch Bob's ads just for the amount of entertainment that can be found in them.
It's always a good ad segment when all of Wulff's relatives decide to awkwardly show up. One day they'll understand your shooting a professional commercial.
The N64 was one of the first consoles I ever played, so I’m so happy to see it here. I will buy the controller for sure, and I love how genesis is coming as well.

Considering that a lot of things were changed in the 3DS remake, for anyone who is a huge fan of Majora's mask, the original N64 version still has a lot of replay value separate from the 3DS version

I just realized. This could be a way for them to allow transfering pokemon from gen 1 and 2 to pokemon home. They could let you use the og transfer packs, or make new ones to transfer into pokemon stadium if they put them onto online, and then onto home

@@dist221 NES and SNES Classic Editions aren't made anymore. Nintendo only made limited number of those to hype up for the Switch. Also, I feel old school games should be more ported often to buy. It puts more preservation for these games and introduce younger audience to get these games without having to get the original console and cartridges, which are not made anymore and the prices of these cartridges and consoles boost significantly, especially online stores. Porting these games is the solution. That's why I applaud Capcom, Namco, Konami for making new compilations to buy their retro video games because you actually own these games with a really good price. I feel what Nintendo did themselves with NSO to rent these games is steps backwards from the Virtual Console since in VC, you can purchase and own any classic game you want.

I still collect cartridges(The ones I can easily afford) and play them on actual hardware, mainly clone consoles since they're more affordable to get and more convenient. Unfortunately my actual NES and SNES doesn't work anymore due to age. My N64 still works like a charm though. Also, have you ever tried hacking your NES and SNES Classic Edition? You can easily add more NES and SNES games in these :)
There’s an officially licensed Sega Saturn controller for like $30 on Amazon. It’s got the same layout essentially as the six button Genesis controller with some more shoulder buttons.

Saw n64 stuff coming and was immediately excited, i havent experienced many n64 games so im super stoked to be able to start exploring that era of nintendo. First thing i felt when i saw genesis was definitely confusion, followed by more excitement. Even though i do have the sega genesis classic collection.

HOLY HELL... I had to pause the video the moment you said Perfect Dark. Ever since I saw the n64 announcement in the direct and all through the first half of your video I had been wondering what the chances of getting Perfect Dark would be. It was, for my own personal reasons, a HUGE part of my childhood so it's ultra nostalgic. I remember having to go out and buy the 8mb memory addon just to be able to play it properly hahaha! So I'm really glad you mentioned it man! People will hate that I say this... but it was SOOO much better then Goldeneye. It was basically Goldeneye 2.0. Used the same engine but had a ton of improvements that made it so much more fun. It even features the ability to unlock the golden eye guns and some of the golden eye multiplayer levels. It was honestly like a Goldeneye 2.0 but flew under so many peoples radars.
Pretty sure everyone and their grandmothers expected Nintendo to do this during the Direct considering the unhealthy amount of predication videos that came out beforehand.

I really do love the release of classic N64 games but personally I’d rather have a N64 classic. That way it’s a one time purchase and scratches the nostalgic feel with a mini console as well. Also will have longevity as it wouldn’t depend on the games being hosted on a server that will eventually go away. I also don’t like how everything is subscription based. I’d rather just buy the game outright then pay a monthly fee to play them.

The company that made those games (3DO) went under in 2003. Recently all of tie IP from them was purchased though by a company (Ziggurat Interactive) who re-releases/remasters old games so it could be coming out in the next few years
The funny thing is Sin and Punishment is already fully voice acted in English. So it doesn't even need a translation, besides the menu option. But it's pretty easy to navigate, I have it physically! It's super fun :) probably one of the best games in N64 tbh
Of course it'll work the 64 games have you forgotten they had Nintendo 64 games on the original Wii system and Wii U so don't give me that free online service that they won't work on the switch I'm not stupid even I know that's possible for them to work in the switch since they had them on two generations of the Wii system Nintendo 64 games I did a comparison and I noticed that in some ways the ones that were on the Virtual Console actually look better on the switch they display the image of the game much nicer and much smoother compared to the Virtual Console versions and by being on free-to-play some of the games you don't have to have them right in the middle of a game where they left off this way you can actually save it at that point this way it's not stuck there on purpose like in the Virtual Console versions
I think the funniest thing is that this will have 4 versions of sonic 2 on the same console with the genesis collection, the standalone release, the sonic collection coming up as well as this

The point is this shouldn't be the only standard to every company. Just because Sony and Netflix are doing this, doesn't mean Nintendo has to only do this as well. I mean they can do this, but the worst part is Nintendo doesn't give an option to buy these games. Rental Premiums aren't for everyone, and it shouldn't be forced as the only way to play these games. Honestly it's more annoying on games than movies. The reason why Netflix isn't that annoying is because you have alternatives to watch movies, heck, like *buying* them for example on DVD, Blu-ray etc, that gives the consumers the choice of their preference what they prefer to watch the movie, they want to rent or buy the film, or both. And lot of Netflix series got DVD releases as well. In Nintendo's part, let's have Super Mario World for SNES as an example. The Switch Online is the only modern way in an official Nintendo console to play Mario World. There's Virtual Console on the Wii U and 3DS, but the Virtual Console will end soon like what happen with the Wii Virtual Console and Wii U is not made anymore, along with 3DS. How about SNES classic Edition, Nintendo sold those for limited run and they don't make those anymore. That just leaves to Switch Online, the rental service. No modern way to buy it. Don't get me wrong, there's benefits in Online services, but there's disadvantages that leaves to buying classic games as still a valuable choice to a consumer.
I've never managed to really get into the N64 library (was a PlayStation kid, and N64 emulation is a pain in the ass) so I'm beyond excited for this. And thank you for speaking solely about this part of the direct. Nothing else was really interesting for me.

it doesnt make sense to pay yearly for a 3rd and 4th online emulator. it doesnt make sense to have to take the first nes snes emulators for 20$ in order to have the 64 and sega emus for an extra charge and no stand alone charge or right out purchase price..

Phantasy Star IV always gets left out of all the Phantasy Star re-releases so this makes me happy. Still unhappy it's a service and not able to buy these outright.
Banjo Kazooie, Banjo Tooie, Donkey Kong 64, Conkers Bad Fur Day, Goldeneye, The World is Not Enough... Would be nice to have all of these on the Switch. Resident Evil 2 port would also be nice. Oh, and how can I forget: Megaman Legends/64. Some people hate that port, but it's a perfectly valid way to play it, be it on the go or on the big screen. Especially if it's a convenient way to popularize with casual gamers. It's WAY better than not playing it at all.
I'm stoked for N64. I've been wanting these games for years now. I've never played any genesis games so I'm excited to try them out without feeling like I am taking a small risk on them by spending money. I would definitily pay 100 bucks for a gameboy classic with just pokemon game boy games.

I just realized. This could be a way for them to allow transfering pokemon from gen 1 and 2 to pokemon home. They could let you use the og transfer packs, or make new ones to transfer into pokemon stadium if they put them onto online, and then onto home
N64 games could use the right joystick as C buttons and it’s how I play games through emulation often. It works incredibly well, which is good.
Couldn’t care less about Nintendo’s pay monthly virtual console. Glad to see a 3D Kirby and Disco Elysium.
Nintendo doesn't even give an option to buy these games. rental premiums aren't for everyone.

@@dist221 NES and SNES Classic Editions aren't made anymore. Nintendo only made limited number of those to hype up for the Switch. Also, I feel old school games should be more ported often to buy. It puts more preservation for these games and introduce younger audience to get these games without having to get the original console and cartridges, which are not made anymore and the prices of these cartridges and consoles boost significantly, especially online stores. Porting these games is the solution. That's why I applaud Capcom, Namco, Konami for making new compilations to buy their retro video games because you actually own these games with a really good price. I feel what Nintendo did themselves with NSO to rent these games is steps backwards from the Virtual Console since in VC, you can purchase and own any classic game you want.
@@retrofan4963 Well I got both the nes and snes mini so for me to play these classics on Switch would feel awkward. Besides, even though they are sold out you can get them on ebay. Sometimes I use my old nes and that's a nostalgic feeling that a new console such as Switch can't provide. But sure, it might be a good introduction to the younger audience

Nostalgic feeling is good and all, but to me, as long I'm able to own and play a classic game, even on a modern console, I'm equally as satisfied. But I totally get you. I still collect cartridges(The ones I can easily afford) and play them on actual hardware, mainly clone consoles since they're more affordable to get and more convenient. Unfortunately my actual NES and SNES doesn't work anymore due to age. My N64 still works like a charm though. Also, have you ever tried hacking your NES and SNES Classic Edition? You can easily add more NES and SNES games in these :)

There’s an officially licensed Sega Saturn controller for like $30 on Amazon. It’s got the same layout essentially as the six button Genesis controller with some more shoulder buttons.

I honestly want Goldeneye and Perfect Dark as well but I am guessing getting the license to release GoldenEye would be a pain in the ass plus both games are under Rare, and most importantly the Nintendo switch is not known for having good analog sticks so we will have to wait and see.

I like nightshade for the NES. Playing a detective investigating and escaping scenarios from a really campy style villain is pretty fun.
Saw n64 stuff coming and was immediately excited, i havent experienced many n64 games so im super stoked to be able to start exploring that era of nintendo. First thing i felt when i saw genesis was definitely confusion, followed by more excitement. Even though i do have the sega genesis classic collection.

HOLY HELL... I had to pause the video the moment you said Perfect Dark. Ever since I saw the n64 announcement in the direct and all through the first half of your video I had been wondering what the chances of getting Perfect Dark would be. It was, for my own personal reasons, a HUGE part of my childhood so it's ultra nostalgic. I remember having to go out and buy the 8mb memory addon just to be able to play it properly hahaha!
So I'm really glad you mentioned it man! People will hate that I say this... but it was SOOO much better then Goldeneye. It was basically Goldeneye 2.0. Used the same engine but had a ton of improvements that made it so much more fun. It even features the ability to unlock the golden eye guns and some of the golden eye multiplayer levels. It was honestly like a Goldeneye 2.0 but flew under so many peoples radars.

I really do love the release of classic N64 games but personally I’d rather have a N64 classic. That way it’s a one time purchase and scratches the nostalgic feel with a mini console as well. Also will have longevity as it wouldn’t depend on the games being hosted on a server that will eventually go away. I also don’t like how everything is subscription based. I’d rather just buy the game outright then pay a monthly fee to play them.
I really hope Diddy Kong Racing comes to Switch Online at some point. That game was a hallmark of my childhood. Many intense battles with my sister.

The company that made those games (3DO) went under in 2003. Recently all of tie IP from them was purchased though by a company (Ziggurat Interactive) who re-releases/remasters old games so it could be coming out in the next few years
The funny thing is Sin and Punishment is already fully voice acted in English. So it doesn't even need a translation, besides the menu option. But it's pretty easy to navigate, I have it physically! It's super fun :) probably one of the best games in N64 tbh

Of course it'll work the 64 games have you forgotten they had Nintendo 64 games on the original Wii system and Wii U so don't give me that free online service that they won't work on the switch I'm not stupid even I know that's possible for them to work in the switch since they had them on two generations of the Wii system Nintendo 64 games I did a comparison and I noticed that in some ways the ones that were on the Virtual Console actually look better on the switch they display the image of the game much nicer and much smoother compared to the Virtual Console versions and by being on free-to-play some of the games you don't have to have them right in the middle of a game where they left off this way you can actually save it at that point this way it's not stuck there on purpose like in the Virtual Console versions
I think the funniest thing is that this will have 4 versions of sonic 2 on the same console with the genesis collection, the standalone release, the sonic collection coming up as well as this

The point is this shouldn't be the only standard to every company. Just because Sony and Netflix are doing this, doesn't mean Nintendo has to only do this as well. I mean they can do this, but the worst part is Nintendo doesn't give an option to buy these games. Rental Premiums aren't for everyone, and it shouldn't be forced as the only way to play these games. Honestly it's more annoying on games than movies. The reason why Netflix isn't that annoying is because you have alternatives to watch movies, heck, like *buying* them for example on DVD, Blu-ray etc, that gives the consumers the choice of their preference what they prefer to watch the movie, they want to rent or buy the film, or both. And lot of Netflix series got DVD releases as well. In Nintendo's part, let's have Super Mario World for SNES as an example. The Switch Online is the only modern way in an official Nintendo console to play Mario World. There's Virtual Console on the Wii U and 3DS, but the Virtual Console will end soon like what happen with the Wii Virtual Console and Wii U is not made anymore, along with 3DS. How about SNES classic Edition, Nintendo sold those for limited run and they don't make those anymore. That just leaves to Switch Online, the rental service. No modern way to buy it. Don't get me wrong, there's benefits in Online services, but there's disadvantages that leaves to buying classic games as still a valuable choice to a consumer.
I've never managed to really get into the N64 library (was a PlayStation kid, and N64 emulation is a pain in the ass) so I'm beyond excited for this.
And thank you for speaking solely about this part of the direct. Nothing else was really interesting for me.

I'm stoked for N64. I've been wanting these games for years now. I've never played any genesis games so I'm excited to try them out without feeling like I am taking a small risk on them by spending money. I would definitily pay 100 bucks for a gameboy classic with just pokemon game boy games.
Nintendo's next step (after GB/GBC/GBA) should be gamecube and bring Sega's Dreamcast as well since they're already doing the Genesis
