What other alterations do you want me to show you guys next let me know in the comments! :)
Nice! Definitely a good skill to have to taper your old shirts so that they can fit you again! :)
@your normal crazy noisy bizzare youtuber No problem man!
Darts maybe... not really sure if you can do that by hand though or else they'll tear when you flex lol. Also maybe add the scissors and cutting the extra off for bigger tapers. Those need a sewing machine unless your an expert hand sewer lol
@@dansmith5783 Practise makes perfect haha
A tee shirt
As a lady looking to cinch my blouses at the waist , never thought I would learn about it from a gentleman who'd talk about it with such a huge amount of energy while having the most chill lofi music in the background lmao , definitely made it a lot more fun experience
Nice! I’m glad you enjoyed this video☺️💪
I just did this on a dress and it worked beautifully! Thank you 😊
Nice one Tamara! I’m glad you found it helpful! 😎💪
I really feel confident to alter my shirt after watching this
I’m glad you found it helpful! 💪
@Black Shadow 2 months ago I was lazy to do this but now I have gained weight, so no need 😅
Bruh I love the energy you have as you explain how to taper a shirt, you’re great
Thanks bruh I appreciate it!! :D
I absolutely love how thoroughly you break things down. I really appreciate you! Thank you so, So, SO much!!!!
No problem! I’m glad you found this helpful! 🤗
This is awesome. I do not have a sewing machine, but I do make hand embroidery, so I love to hand sew. Exactly what I was looking for, thanks!
Nice! I’m glad you found this helpful!☺️💪
I wanted to fix some shirts I have that are like this, but I was afraid of undoing the seweing and redoing it myself cause they're done in overlock stitches that I can't really replicate, but it never crossed my mind to just... Not remove the extra fabric.
I'll definitely be trying this until I'm confident enough to make permanent changes to my clothes! (if I even actually need to)
Nice one!😎💪
I just finished tapering my white shirt and it worked like a charm! Definitely one of the most helpful videos I've ever seen on RUclips..Thanks! Much love from India :)
No problem Anushka! I’m glad you found this helpful! ☺️💪
Aw amazing video! Thank mate:) it’s smart to save money AND time by going to a tailor for things that we can actually learn and do ourselves haha. Great video! it was helpful
Thanks for your kind words mate! I’m glad you found this helpful and stay tuned for more! ☺️💪
I have to do this to my husband's shirt and your video definitely answered all the questions I had. Thank you ❤️
For such a short video, it's so packed with good info. Thanks for the awesome tips!
Thank you! I’m glad you found this helpful☺️💪
Don’t we all hate when it says “slim fit” but it’s barely even slim fit it just feels like a normal shirt.
😂💪
I feel like slim fit js means the arms are tighter and nothing else 😭
Yoo this was amazing just what i need it.
I'm glad you found it helpful! :)
I love this video so much, super informative and entertaining! Can't wait to alter my dresses and shirts to fit better!
Thank you! This tutorial was exactly what I needed.
I’m glad you found this helpful!☺️💪
Awesome. Just fixed a favorite button up. I took a 3XL shirt down to a XL.5. Lol. Not a 2XL & not a XL. Mucho appreciation.
Nice man! I’m glad you found this helpful!☺️💪
Super simple explanation. I never even knew that was a needle threader. Thanks for the video.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! My beach shirt was baggy and just didn’t fit right. This video was so straight forward!!
That's cool as hell, Evan. Even though I hate sewing, this looks easy to do.
Thanks.
No problem Kevin! I’m glad you found this tutorial helpful! 😃💪
@@YourAverageGent yessir
Wah...Steadilah Sir, you can sew! 👏🏼😯👏🏼
Thanks Sir! Anyone can sew haha just takes a little practice 😆💪
Man, thanks. I just got some shirts that are fabulous and want to taper them. Will use your technique.
No problem man! I’m glad you found this helpful! 😎💪
This is probably the best video I've watched this week.
I'm glad you found this helpful! :D
Simple,easy,short,...loved the video
Thanks! I’m glad you found it helpful! :)
Best intro to a RUclips video I've seen so far 😂. Love it respect to you sir!
Thank you brother!☺️🙌
Please make a video on how to lengthen a t shirt's sleeve to 3/4". I have an arm defect I have to hide so the shortest sleeve I can wear is 3/4". Thank you. Love your energy 💜
Thanks man! Oh no.. I have never tried to lengthen my sleeve before, maybe take it to a tailor? :)
I like the positive goofy presentation. And the most sick time lapse. thx!
Definitely going to try this. Thanks so much for the awesome tips
No problem I’m glad you found this helpful!😎💪
Thank you!! This is going to revolutionize my closet. You're a hero!
No problem! I'm glad you found it helpful! 💪
this helped me loads! thanks alot man!!
No problem Narin I'm glad you found it helpful! 💪
I love the video but im kinda confused what do you do with the extra fabric that is next to the stitches do you fold it then sew it or do you cut it off. Because in the video the extra fabric was just gone and the shirt was smaller. great video though :D
I left the extra fabric as it is so that next time if I wanna make it looser I can take the stitches out! But you can definitely cut it off if you plan to taper it permanently! ☺️💪
What a wonderful video!
I'm glad you found it helpful! :)
I find that putting the thread in my mouth before threading helps with a small eyed needle. Thanks for the post.
Amazing, exactly what I needed! Thanks
Really Quick , I Mean You Are So Amazing Dude 🔥Love From India 🇮🇳
Thank you dude! I appreciate your kind words! 😎💪
Nice tutorial! I like that there is no 'cutting' but I guess there is extra material in the slack that would cause discomfort. I will try this with a t-shirt I just bought. It fits perfect in the shoulders and chest (wide) but is super slack around the abdomen which I hate. Everyone says no it looks fine but when I look at it I really hate it and wanna rip it to shreds! Gotta try atleast your method before I do that!
The extra material in the slack isn’t won’t cause discomfort at all, I barely feel it haha. But yes definitely give this method a try💪
@@YourAverageGent After I alter it I will comment on how it feels and looks ...thanks
Cool, now I won't have to beg my husband to gather and pin my loose tops😂 however I will use my sewing machine and trim if needed but I love how now I can just use a pencil. He's been replaced by a pencil 😂
From Japan I love your video and every sewing by self without machine it's so helpful for us 😊
Thank you! I’m glad you found this helpful!☺️💪
😊 I never knew that was a needle threader haha thanks for the tips
I was searching for how to take in a blouse. Liked your rendition best. No frills and without a sewing machine. Erm, can a lady wish for a vid on how to take a spaghetti-strap dress in or is that way off-course? :)
Nice! Haha I don’t have a spaghetti-strap dress but it should be the same method taking in the sides! 😎💪
Love this energy
Thanks bro!😎🙌
Thank you so much for showing me the most effective way of using a needle and thread ❤🎉😅
uh! i love ur confidence! thanks for reminding us that we don't need a sewing machine for every project. God bless you man! #thepowerofourhands #timesofinflation
Bro i have only one pair of college shirt because of you
Its not be fit but i got a lesson after cut my shirt
Nice bro!😎🙌
Omg it worked well!! Thanks so muchh🔥🔥
Very cool! Question - do you cut off the cloth on the other side of the stitch? Otherwise wouldn't there be like a huge flap of shirt cloth inside the side of your shirt? I'm asking because I'm about to do this!
Yes! Thank you! I was looking for this comment. I'm also about to do it and I need to know for sure.
It’s on the inside so no one will see it, you don’t need to cut anything
Don’t you have to cut the excess fabric? How I did it is if make the shape, cut the outline, then use a blanket stitch to sew it. I’m looking for a cleaner method though
Sir, you're very energetic 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you Sir!💪💪💪
Nice video brother I appreciate your time and effort 😉
Thanks brother I appreciate your support! 😊
Just amazing intro 😉
Thanks bro! 💪
enjoyed your video! Looking forward to try this!
Thanks a bunch🙌🏻
No problem bro!💪
Good video bro you saved me fam 🙏🤣
I’m glad you found it helpful bro!😎💪
This was a super helpful video, but with the sides, do we need to cut it off after sowing it?
U r my new fave.
Stay tuned for more!🔥
Thanks for this bro ❤️
No problem bro!😎💪
Wowwwwww.. I love this. U make it looks simple and fun😁😂
Thanks man haha I’m glad you found it helpful! 💪💪
@@YourAverageGent bro, wht about a big sleeves. Does it use the same way?
@@hazimmahafiz7245 you can taper your sleeves using the same way too bro!
great vid thanks!
Awesome!
Nice job! I'm I want to make sure. I understand that the sewing is in along an arc, starting just below the chest, correct?
OK i am middle aged inventor engineer general know it all and I have just had my mind completely blown by the existence of the needle threader. Just another example of how little I really know!
This vid created the smile in me.
👉👍💪👏
I’m glad you liked this video man! 😎💪
I never liked the permanent tapering done at the tailors because it often made the arms too tight and was irreversible. This looks like a better solution . Thanks
I just took in a black t shirt of mine and cut a long jeans pants to make them shorts thanks for the tips❤🎉
I dressing like a real young man now much respect ❤🎉😂
actually, gr8 tip..
on a funny note.. having fit body, lats & biceps helps✌️
Thanks bro! Definitely💪
Very helpful,, thanks!
No problem Frank! I’m glad you found this helpful! 💪
Your video quality is awesome and you are a very good instructor but i dont know why your channel is growing so slowly. keep going you will be big one day
Thank you I appreciate your encouragement!! :D
really helpful, thank you so much👍🏾 great video❤
Thank you so much!! Takes away so much stress I have to fix my husbands shirts asap lmao 😭😂
I’m glad you found this helpful!😎💪
Hey what did u do with the excess on the sides did u cut it of or fold it over when u stitched I don’t get it?
I didn’t cut the excess fabrics off. So that in the future I can make them looser if I need. But you can cut them off too!
I would avoid cutting it off as depending on the fabric could start to fringe since the ends of the fabric would not be finish.
I like your energy🤗
Thank you!!☺️💪
Hi, thank you for this video! But I’ve tried doing this with a more cropped shirt but it looks really weird around the armpit area like the Botton part is tight but the armpit area has lots of loose fabric. It would be really great if you could reply any way to fix this , thank you!!😊
You could sew all the way up to the armpit and sleeves area to make the armpit and sleeves tighter!😎💪
@@YourAverageGent oh ok thank you! I’ll try that to see if it makes it better!😁
No problem hope it works for you!☺️💪
Thanks a lot!
I definately subbed to ur channel, most helpful vud ever
Thank you! I’m glad you found it helpful! 😎
Very good idea.
Thank you!!!
Hey man, with the sewing do we just sew along the drawn line? (I'm not all that smart)
Yo man! That’s right sew along the drawn line!💪
@@YourAverageGent thanks Man! This is gunna look awsome🔥
@@kieranjackson9206 No problem man! I'm glad you found this helpful! 😎
THANK YOU SO MUCHHH MR. I RLLY APRECIATE IT 😊😊🙌💞💕
What do we do with the big flaps of extra fabric on the inside of the shirt?
I didn’t touch the extra fabric so that if next time I wanna loosen the shirt I still have the option. But you could cut them off if you decide it’s gonna be permanent💪
ThankQ i Only know sew with hand... This was needed 🥺 thankQ
I’m glad you found this helpful!☺️💪
Should you trim the extra material off? Or is it better to leave it on? I noticed in your picture it looks like you trimmed it off
I didn’t trim the extras off. It’s better to leave it on if you think you might wanna loosen it up in the future! 💪
@@YourAverageGent Thanks! And your technique worked like a charm! Now I can wear my blouse with more confidence!
Your presentation is very energetic... Keep going
I appreciate it!☺️💪
Thanks! I will try with my blouses... ;)
Nice!☺️💪
Did u sew the shirt from oudside or inside cos that mAtters a lot different bro
I see it from the inside!😎
What did he do with the cloth that was left when he sewed it 🤔
I left it there so that if I wanna loosen it I still can. But you can cut it off if you’re certain!😎💪
What do about the excess fabric from shoulder to the arm?
Great video..😇
Thank you!!!😎💪
THANK YOUUUU
No problem bro!! 😎💪
Thanks brother 👍👍👍🔥🔥
No problem brother!!!😎👊
Bro I have a black shirt and it's sleeves are very long can you give a tip on it plz ?
The only way is if you make it into a short sleeve shirt bro! If not you’ll have to cut off the cuff to make it shorter.
Tell me did u cut the left ovrs shirt pls
I didn’t cut them but you could!💪
Would you please like to make a video on how to suit-up ?? I really like your video.great technique .
Thanks man! Do you mean how to wear a suit? :)
@@YourAverageGent absolutely yes
I did a video on how to GER your first suit you can check it out here! ruclips.net/video/AmQx8humdj4/видео.html

Nice one!
Hey your so styley
Thank you!!😎💪
Where do you get the shirt from
Bro, your energetic attitude got me hype
Nice one bro!!! 💪
Whoa!!! I am going to try this with a hoodie that is too large to see if I can make a ladies’ tunic out of it.
Nice one man hope you succeed! 💪
@@YourAverageGent So far so good!!! I need to do something about the sleeve area too, but the tapering part went great. 👍
@@nerysghemor5781 That's great to hear bro! You can taper the sleeves area the same way too!💪
Does it bothers when one walks with that extra leftover of fabrics???
Definitely bro!
It really changed the game .....
I’m glad you found this helpful! 💪
Do you cut off the extra fabric after you sew?
I didn’t! But you can too!
yeah I was wondering this too. seems like if you don't, it could feel weird with all the extra material against your torso, but then again if you do it could feel weird because of the raw seams against your torso?
@@thejuggler42 i tried it and it works fine, i cant really feel a difference and fits perfect
What kind of shirt would u recommend for guys with little love handles ?
A shirt that’s not too tight but also not too loose. Best is to wear a jacket with your shirt!💪
@@YourAverageGent oh kk thanks 👍
