    Hey everyone! Welcome to my channel. I will help you learn color separations for T-shirt printing.
    In this video, I show you how to create halftones in Photoshop for screen printing without using RIP software. The quality of halftones created in Photoshop is as good as the quality of halftones created in RIP software. The trick is to know the correct settings to use in Photoshop, which is what I show you in this video.

    when I'm going to send to be printed on film do I need to export to jpeg on 300dpi resolution? or what format should I use?

    • @learncolorseparation
      @learncolorseparation  8 месяцев назад

      You can use the PDF format for printing on film. Ensure a resolution of 600 DPI or higher for high-quality prints. Check out the video for more details: ruclips.net/video/MLJ1KZl4WtE/видео.html

    Thank you for sharing this video man, can i use also this in DTF halftone designs in a 1200dpi?

    • @learncolorseparation
      @learncolorseparation  Год назад

      You're welcome! While halftone conversion isn't typically needed for DTF printing, you can still use it in your designs if you want to achieve a specific effect of shades of colors, similar to traditional screen printing. As for the resolution, 1200dpi should be more than enough for DTF printing. Just make sure to use a high-quality image.

    Nice video. Does the dpi affect the lpi when you screen print? For example using 160 mesh count, would you use the same lpi if the dpi is 1200 or 600 dpi? Assume the lpi is 160/5 to get 32 lpi. Thanx for the Info.

    • @learncolorseparation
      @learncolorseparation  Год назад

      From my personal experience, I can say that DPI doesn't affect LPI. Halftone dots at 600 DPI and higher will produce nice and crisp halftone dots. We choose the mesh count according to the LPI.

    If I’m screen printing a large image like 33”x45” on 230 mesh what should my LPI be and will 1200 dpi look good on an image that big or does it need to be higher?

    • @learncolorseparation
      @learncolorseparation  Год назад

      For a 230 mesh, you can use an LPI value 55. In terms of resolution, 1200 DPI should be more than sufficient for your purpose.

    Do you know how do I create an art, with for example 6 spot colors, with halftones with the same angle, but in different positions, so the dots don’t touch each other, in Photoshop? Is there any software that does this conversion?

    • @learncolorseparation
      @learncolorseparation  3 месяца назад

      In Photoshop, you can't use the same angle in different positions for halftones without the dots touching each other. To achieve different dot positions, divide 360 by the number of colors. For 6 colors, it's 360/6 = 60 degrees. Set your halftone angles to 0, 60, 120, 180, 240, and 300. I'm not aware of any software that does this conversion automatically.

    You made it black and white but how do you make it with color

    • @learncolorseparation
      @learncolorseparation  Год назад

      To add color to your halftone image, you need to change the image mode to RGB and convert the background layer to a normal layer. Then, you can apply a color overlay effect to the halftoned layer. If you want to convert an entire image to color halftones, you can go to "Filter" > "Pixelate" > "Color Halftone." This will apply a halftone pattern to your image and allow you to specify the size and angle of the dots.

    i’m not allowed to select bitmap, anyone know why ?

    • @learncolorseparation
      @learncolorseparation  Год назад

      Before you can select Bitmap mode in Photoshop, you need to make sure that the document is in 8 bits/channel mode. To check if your document is in this mode, go to the Image menu and select Mode. If "8 Bits/Channel" is not selected, choose it from the list.
