Hey Casey,
It matters not who painted the trailer.
What does matter is it looks so much more like you take care of your equipment.
Which you do for the most part.
For those who do not know, It is a fact that the highway patrol and or DOT will look at trucking equipment and instantly form an opinion as to whether or not your equipment is junk or well maintained.
This matters because junk is going to be scrutinized much harder that good looking equipment.
Junk will cost you way more in fines and repairs than well maintained equipment.
Well maintained equipment is safer than junk.
Sometimes you see trucks on highways that look like show trucks, yet they are working and making money.
Those trucks seldom get pulled into an inspection station.
Just thought you might like to know.
You are flat out WRONG!
Every DOT officer out there will tell you that there a way too many guys out there who put way too much effort into trying to look “cool” and not nearly enough into actual maintenance.
Anyone who’s been around trucks for any amount of time knows that a shiny truck does NOT mean a well maintained truck, and a dirty working truck does NOT mean a lack of maintenance.
@@CaseyLaDelle OTOH...
A trailer with more rust than paint isn't a good sign...
@@CaseyLaDelle I knew when I posted that I would get flack.
Having run long haul coast to coast as well as short hauls in and around southern calif. for ten years in nice looking and not so nice looking trucks for ten years I think I am qualified to say what I said.
But I guess as it is your channel, your opinion is the only one that counts !
@@chuckster6513 your last sentence is correct
@@Tinker001 wore out paint and rust are two different things. That trailer had no rust.
Thank you David for making it possible for Casey to keep his word with us, his RUclips audience. He didn't paint the trailer!
I'm really glad that I finished my coffee before Casey's announcement that HE DIDN'T PAINT THE TRAILER! Or I might have had a real mess to clean up!
Around 7:20 "We didn't get any work done......My daughter and her friends played in the water." That sounds like the perfect choice for priorities.
Yeah, but sometimes kids are more work than work
@@Chris-bh3cmThat ain't no joke! Especially if you have a bunch of em running around!!!😂
I think that truck was dropped off because Chevy knew you needed a new engine for your 70yr old car
🤣
94 year old car.
I was thinking about the same thing
Easy, swap the engines and call them… this truck makes some weird noises😂
@@020Dutchy😂😂
That cheeky ending 😅
Casey is very smart with RUclips .... This is great for his analytics to have people watching right up until the last second. I mean, it's also great storytelling!
“Welding by braille” 😂
Well said Casey!
Harbor Freight welding hood?
Paint job looks great !!! Good job David.
When the only person who needs to be impressed by the paint job is you the owner, 50’ paint job always looks good because it’s done!
The paint job does exactly what it needs to do.
The trailer looks really good! When someone sees you rolling down the road it pops visually and projects the look of someone who knows what they are doing.
Then to the guy on the ground who is on the job site and up close they know that you don't spend much money to make everything a beauty queen, just make it look good and get the work done.
And to end, it's good to be the boss as others can do the dirty work...
Don’t blame you for getting someone to do the deck, they are such a pain and always take 10x longer than you think no matter how many you’ve done.
It is a piece of equipment that is going to see heavy use. Doesn't need a Robby Layton paint job. But it is good that it was painted to keep rust under control. Thanks David for helping Casey keep his word!
We don’t have rust here. I could sand blast it to bare metal and run it for a decade without issue.
It got the earl schrib paint job 😂😂
@@frankwrogg2515 I"m willing to bet that David didn't paint over bugs, mud, and tar though . . .
Let's say you have two trailers both of them perfectly legal, the first one is rusty and dented the tires are old but legal and the wheels are all rusty, deck looks rotted but is perfectly solid and the marker lights and tail lights are faded lenses and you have a trailer that is exactly the same but the owner put new tires on it painted the wheels, did a Casey LaDelle paint job on it, the deck has been repainted and the tail light lenses are new. Both trailers have been mechanically maintained the same. Now you are a DOT inspector and these both trailers drive by and "pick one", which one would you decide to pick to inspect?
@@davidclemens1578 depends on what the dot number of the truck that pulling it brings up, because that is actually the main thing the inspectors look at.
If it looks good from ten feet it's finished. This is known as the ten foot finish rule.
That's a very handy rule in this situation. It doesn't work as well for quilts though....😂!
It’s weirdly calming to watch some guys painting a rusty trailer, in company-red.
As casey said in replies to the pinned comment, it's not rust, it's 32 year old wore out paint
When its all said and done, you didn’t lie. Maintenance videos are A-OK with me.
Does the Chevy have a standard {lighter} accessory plug?
"...David Did!" - Beautiful ending!
If you can't find it, check inside the center console storage.. that's where they put it in my Canyon
“I didn’t paint the trailer. David did!” 😂😂😂 Typical Casey. You are hilarious, man.
I painted close to 50 semi vans and flatbeds with Rust-oleum paint using rollers in the last 38 years with great results.
The strategic addition of spray on bed liner would help with traction. I'd say grip tape might work also but how the trailer is utilized means the tape would probably not last too long.
Thats what my brother and i call a "3 meter paint job", because from 3 meters it looks great. thanks for the great videos you make.
Great dodge on painting the trailer, but it still looks alot better.
The out rigger color difference really makes it pop.
A passenger in an overhead airliner saw that you missed a spot😂.
The trailer got itself painted one way or another because it was the right thing to do. First impressions matter and so too does visual safety on site and on the highway 🙂That Chevvy looks cool....
The paint job is a big improvement over the ' rusty yellow ' 👍🇺🇸
Thank you David for painting the trailer, it looks so much better now. You really should do all the lights led, so much better to see it at night..
Nice twist on your promise Casey. It looks good, thanks David.
David, the trailer looks great and now fits the Cascade Heavy Rescue color scheme!!! Awesome job!!! And the new loaner Chevy Truck also fits the Cascade Heavy Rescue color scheme like it was meant for the yard and to “represent”… I think Chevy should give it to you for all the great publicity or at least a new engine for the 94 year old!!!!
You a smart COOKIE 😂 it's looks more desirable, 😊 nothing worse than not being able to see the trailer, your yard is coming along great, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
Awesome job Casey. I think the trailer definitely looks good from 50 foot away. Now you just need to put a big piece of equipment on it pay for the paint job and park it again till the next job.
I spent the weekend of Thanksgiving 2003 in Stockton, CA under my Talbert flatbed doing a Rust-Oleum refinish .
Simple sanding, priming and painting using foam brushes and rollers.
Came out great.
Five years later I saw that trailer and it still looked great even after all those Midwest winters.
I was amazed...
The trailer looks very nice. Great job David!!!!!
I don’t blame you on the heat, I had to get towed from Speedco to the shop over the weekend and it was 116°. I’m looking forward to snow!
Trailer looks great on camera!!! And, to us, that's all that matters!! LOL!! I'm sure that it don't look THAT bad up close either. At least it shiny😁
Ha,Ha, Ha, the smug look at the end was priceless !! 🤣😂🤣 !
I love it. Glad you changed your mind because it looks great
Looks very nice from the camera view 🙂 Well done David.
New paint job looks like a more impressive business image.
looks good from my house... lol nice update!
It may be a 50' paint job in your opinion but from what I see on video, it looks 100% better and for the way you did it and the products you used I will say you did a good job or David did a good job.
I think the folks at Chevy have been talking to Yankum, Zacklift and Collins: "Hey, if you've got something you want broken in, Casey's the guy to give it too." Note: Emphasis on 'broken'.
Looks awesome! Great decision ❤
Great job David, now it needs more lights for sure.
for work they got us a chevrolet 1500 z71 basic work truck trim, and we equipped it with lights siren and radios and its a great truck, and it will now spend its life on gravel/dirt roads almost 24/7
"I didn't paint this trailer.... David did." I wonder if the bus driver felt the bump as he ran over David just now.
Ah welding by braille, we all have to do it at some point. Looking good!
For sure! I've safety squinted a bunch of weld's. Isn't that what a grinder is for??😂
Hi Casey, when I watched you move the snow cat I thought, "Either get a junk tractor unit to haul it or paint the trailer". You must have heard me.
Thanks David
Nice looking equipment says a lot about the owner .. Nice looking job, guys!
Very professional looking.. it’s not going to SEMA…
Good idea on welding on the round stock. Simple and effective!
Looks great! Saw it in the teaser yesterday and was hoping the video would be soon!
Looks great Casey! Glad you "didnt paint the trailer" 😆
Love the chevy pickup.
"Welding by braille". In my years of mechanic work I've noticed a lot of vehicles that appear to have been driven by braille. The trailer looks good. It is the first one that I've seen with it's own power to operate the gooseneck in to a ramp. There is another RUclipsr I watch that I think could benefit with one like it. Try to keep cool and safe and looking forward to new adventures.
I never thought you’d paint that trailer. But; I’m really impressed that you did and the finished product looks slick!
It looks awesome from Michigan.
Casey is to have fun with the Chevy--with the right color, and smells new. And with Casey's adventures, Chevy gets free advertising! Sweet deal for both. Casey was right--he didn't paint that trailer--always a man of his word! The trailer does look good. Great job, David. Looks as good as the red/black on my 40 year old yard machines I rebuilt. Well, here in Central Virginia it has been 102 degrees numerous days, with high humidity.
I said I was never going to paint this trailer. I had him paint it, I kept my word.
Politicians everywhere.
those 50 50 jobs are great, looks good from 50 feet away or at 50mph
I think the trailer looks great, even if it is a 50 foot/60mph paint job. You run a top notch company with nice-looking equipment. Might as well spend a few bucks and make the trailer look as good as your trucks.
Regardless who painted it, the trailer looks sharp. I think you've got either one heck of a Chevrolet dealer there in Bend, or someone in levels above them like to watch your videos. Either way, it's pretty cool that they drop off a new vehicle for you to play with for a week!
Chevy must of liked your honest evaluation of the last truck and what you put it through, most likely increased overall sales. It will be interesting if it has an old fashioned 12 volt plug in it. 😊😊😊😊😊
They are NOT going to like my honest review of this one..
@@CaseyLaDelleI’ll be interested to hear what you have to say. You are always honest and I appreciate that.
@@CaseyLaDelle that's why we like your reviews
Not bad of a job you guys done! It looks a lot better then it did without paint. The new paint match’s your set up vrey well. Thank you!!!
Worked all day repairing a chain link fence. Stoped at 115. For the day, it got up to 118 by 4:00
That trailer looks great, keep up the good work.
It looks great no matter how the paint got spilled on it.... LOL
Been using the rustoleum quarts and adding the automotive hardener, the results are pretty darned good when spraying it.
I read an article on the 2.7 in that Chevy. They said that engine was basically built to diesel spec. Should be super strong.
That's looking badass.
As someone who has spent too many hours working on chicken lights, getting the connections sealed is key. That means shrinky-dink connections everywhere.
Yep, heat shrink and solder connectors on every one of those stupid lights
@@CaseyLaDelle What, you mean you don't want to use the shark bite connectors of the electrical world!?! (Little blue fold over connectors that "Bite" the wire and often fail after the first trip for those who have not dealt with 12 volt trailer wiring)
@@coopercoveloI thought those were vampire taps? You put them on one night, and they don't survive the light of the next day!
@@coopercovelo I’ve actually used hundreds of those on many different vehicles over the years and never once had an issue with one.
@CaseyLaDelle Ugh. Soldering. That's a good way to waste a perfectly good afternoon, and when you are done, you have wicked the solder up the wires, creating a hard point to break.
Team butt connector, all the way!
a true Richie Brothers paint job.
Another "Team Casey" creative endeavor brought to you by "Little Miss Riley" and company.
I know that you did not want to paint the trailer when you first got it, but it looks much more professional. :)
Trailer looking Good ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Helmet batteries are low. That's why there's a delay.
That trailer looks fantastic, all the rest of your rigs are nice looking now the trailer completes your fleet.
I remember when you first got this trailer I said I would love to see a new deck and a coat of paint on it, and I’m so happy it actually happened lol sucker cleaned up good
Nicely done
Looks much better😊
Hey Casey it is like what Matt over at Diesel Creek says about his paint jobs: They are Socially Distanced paint job! They look good from socially distance, but up close not so much.
Looks fantastic, love the theme colors.
I think the trailer looks Really Good….💪
😂 Casey it does look great. 100% improvement from what it looked like before.
That trailer looks way better!
David did a fine 50' job!
Looks like how I repainted my trailer last week, your already doing a better job then me with the sprayer, I just foam roller-ed everything. We picked the same color too.
love the ending Casey
David did a nice job on the trailer. Looks 1000% better, even if it is from a distance!
At least it doesn't look like a piece of junk now.
Casey, you always have a great play on words. I sad I'd never paint this trailer and i didn't, David did. 😅😅
I think it looks fantastic. Great job. That’s how I paint all of our trailers.
You have contracted (PPNPD) pencil pocket nerd perfectionist disorder, next you will be cleaning the dirt out of the screw heads on your trailer, like I do. Looks good I love it especially the lights.
Trailer looks great. Great video as always Casey
We spray painted my blue Fiat when we were over in Germany back in 1971. Finished it and the skies opened up and pelted it with rain which left it with a crater look. It was a good look for fix it again Tony. Your trailer looks good.
Wow, what a fantastic job on the trailer. 👍
I didn't paint this trailer, David, did. 😂
it does look much better red than the yellow
FYI I did sand blasting in portland and a lowboy trailer would have cost a customer 1,800 -2,200 at 150 per hr for 12 to 15 hrs of work to remove all the paint
You have to love a good loophole.
Good job David! 😅
Nice job!😊
Great job guys. Thank you 😊
that trailer came out sharp dude
Hey David, great idea to paint that trailer! It looks good from my house!
Casey that looks like a brand new trailer you did a very nice job on your low boy trailer 👍👍👍
Trailer looks sharp painted. I haul a 48 foot high deck curtain side and it is all black on black and I have a hard time at night seeing it in the lane so am in the middle of installing lights that shine downward have red behind the rear axle hooked up now and already awesome can wait to get the yellow ones hooked up. Truck is also black and had a guy come on the hwy from a on ramp through the slow lane right into the side of the truck lights are a good thing also planning on hooking up backup lights
Yeah this trailer was basically invisible in my mirrors at night. When making turns at intersections or in and out of driveways I’d have to turn on the LED flood lights on top of my headache rack to see where the trailer was
