completely different if you have previously coloured hair. this is only possible with virgin hair, or hair that has only been lightened and not dyed.

@@mariawtr i mean people's ends are naturally lighter than their roots. sun damage, heat damage, and mechanical damage all lighten the hair over time so the longer your hair has been on your head, the lighter it will be. unless your hair is literally black haha

Well it's alot easier because she has virgin hair. She didn't have a ton of box dye in her hair.

It's not as hard considering she has virgin hair that tend to bleach and process way faster and easier which means she didn't need to bleach it for extreme long amount of time.
Ruckizzy virgin hair is a LOT easier to do.

Kazumi did an incredible job and her hair looked great. Not damaged. Nicole's natural hair is so beautiful that I did not want her to ruin it. It is hard to keep the blonde color so she has now let it slowly get back to her natural color with great highlights. She looks great. Of course I am bias.

the hair itself looks good but it definitely does not suit her skin. shes too pale and with the yellow undertones, it totally washes her out. makes her look sick.

I just mean that white people often have more pinkish undertones which makes really like hair pop! I am very yellowish, like a lot of Asians, and I could never pull it off. Very dark hair, in return, does rarely go well with pinkish skin.

The color looks BOMB. So professionally done too, I absolutely love watching hair stylists who just know what they're doing!
and my hairdresser told me "i can't dye your hair that color, nobody has it that light it's impossible to do" dude.
At least they were honest with you and didn't just try and ruined your hair in the process. It is definitely possible, but it is extremely difficult. You saw how many foils there were, and it would always need to be bleached at least twice. If you had any dark hair color or box color in your hair, or your hair is very long it would be impossible in one day. That process took at least 6 hours, and would cost well over 400 dollars.

I’m a hairdresser, she’d be there for hours and hours. Virgin hair is easier to work with vs multiple sessions.

@@SpeedDemon-vm2lp honestly, probably not very long. A skilled hairdresser can do a whole head of foils in less than 20 minutes. Plus, it looked like she had assistants, so of guess 10-15
@@maddiehass3981 I'm 100% sure that took about one hour, that many foils is impossible to do in 15 minutes
@@richellevanlisdonk 30 minutes tops, she had help and if it took an hour her hair would have been fried since 90% of the foils were still on her when she went to the wash bowl.

She had to do reeeallly small sections i think so that the bleach really gets into each and every strand perfectly and evenly esp since her hair is dark. Asian hair needs more attention usually especially when bleaching.

Perfect job! I love that you didn't take the fast & easy way out by taking thicker sections just because it's a global bleach. And then you did a second round to hit the missed spots. You waited to do the hair close to the scalp in the second round, knowing that the heat from her head would lift faster. Your attention to detail and willingness to put in a little more work really shows in your finished product. Beautiful job!

Evelynn Renae I think she looks beautiful both ways. The problem IMHO is that everyone nowadays seems to want *platinum* hair and platinum hair is incredibly difficult to pull off for ANYBODY. Natural blonde looks way better, the platinum craze is just weird. That said, this girl pulls it off better than most and, more importantly, she seems really happy.

@@refinery29 I really love the transformation but is that much foil (producing more trash) necessary though?
@@sarahlbl4382 it is, unfortunately, pretty necessary. Its all in foils so the hair processes all evenly (no dark spots and lighter in others) and so it is kept neat and away from the scalp while that process goes on. If you do it without foils or bigger sections for each foil then it often comes out splotchy and will need way more lightening applications, thus making it harder to do and more damage. The foil also helps the bleach not dry out, therefore it keeps working.
The only other options are plastic wrap or foam sheets but those arent any better for the environment. Luckily they are trying to get out reusable foam sheets but most people dont use them since its messy, sometimes heavier and more clean up.

My mother didn't allow me to dye my hair when I was young either. Of course when I turned 18 I went bleach happy and dyed my hair blonde, then pink, then red, then it almost fell out. Lol. Either way it worked out for me since my hair thankfully isn't damaged from it, I'm pretty sure it's because it retained a lot of pigment. I have an ungodly amount of red in my hair

I've never heard of Kazumi before this! The salon team and Kazumi seemed super professional and did an amazingggg job. Nicole's attitude goes from brunette and demure to blonde and super confident.... She looks so happy now that she has the hair color she has always wanted! 🤩

the trick is you let your hair grow out as much as possible so that when you inevitably has to cut some of it away, you will still have some of it left. - from a person who DIYs her hair for almost 10 years and has done nearly every color in the rainbow

That hairstylist did an incredible job. Most people cant achieve that color in multiple processes and she did it in one and her hair still looks healthy.
