Although I’ve never read a Jane Austen novel, there’s something calming about watching your character map videos! Also, I love your rug. It’s so pretty!
Thank you Emma! These videos so helpful - I’m an English major at William and Mary and currently in a course on just Austen works! These character maps are just wonderful for a general understanding (I even shared them with my class!) 💜
I loved this character map! Would you ever consider making your maps into PDFs? I'd love to add your map to my reading journal and I can't quite see or read it well enough from the video. I can't wait to go back and watch the rest of the character map videos!
Mr. Tilney is sooo dreamy! And Catherine is so young and sweet! Austen's heroines, heroes, and plotlines are all so different. That always impresses me 😂 Have you read much Gothic fiction?
I have not! I've read some of Austen's contemporaries, especially the ones she admired like Fanny Burney and Maria Edgeworth, but I need to pick up a Mrs. Radcliffe or some gothic fiction!
@@BookishPrincess OH MY GOODNESS YES!!!! haha that would be SO fun! I love it! Febregency totally rolls of the tongue, too 🤣 But if you wanted to change it, that is also totally fine. I love this idea soooo much!
I completely agree with you about Henry Tilney 🥰 I think his character is "Just as a young man ought to be." I think I could get carried away talking about diction with him
@@BookishPrincess Uhmmmm interesting. I know a lot of Britain’s pronounce it Bath. I think you are confusing their accent. But anyways thanks for answering.👍🏼🥰👌🏼😜
North anger Abbey is one of my favorite books! I love the spooky dark setting and how the heroine views the world based on books she read.

Yess that flower one🥺😍
I love Northanger Abbey! You're so right - Henry Tilney is the best. 😍 I feel a reread coming on...

That's so lovely to hear, haha, hope your class enjoys them! 😊 A course on Austen sounds delightful, hope it's going well!
Thank you! I agree with you, Henry Tilney is my favorite Jane Austen hero as well!

Thanks! And ohh that's a neat idea, I will see if I can get a good shot of it at some point.
@@BookishPrincess Awesome! :D
Oh this video has come at the right time! I'm actually reading this right now and loving it 😍
Yay! Northanger Abbey is so good. 🙌
What perfect timing! I just started listening to the Emma Thompson audible reading/dramatization of this 🥰
Lovely as always
Aww thanks! 😊

@@BookishPrincess so do I! I haven't read much Gothic or even Austen contemporaries 😅 It's a big hole in my reading!
@@BookishPrincess Victorian gets so much attention here on booktube 🤣
lol, wanna start a Feburegency next year? Maybe we can work on the name - Victober is admittedly hard to beat, it has such a great ring to it. 😂

This is my FAVORITE Jane Austen book! And YAY! for someone else preferring Tilney over Darcy! I far prefer Tilney. Never saw the appeal of Darcy...
Why do you pronounce Bath like Bauth? Just wandering. It’s Bath like Bathroom!
The British pronunciation of the city name is Bauth!
