I think he had reason to be at the time. The Leafs back then actually looked alive. I don't know what happened for them to lose all heart in 2020 and in 2021. If the Leafs reverted to their 2017, 2018, or 2019 selves they'd have made it past the first round in 2020 and especially in 2021. Habs had heart and that brought them to the finals.

As a die hard Bruins fan I stumbled upon your channel after Game 1 when a buddy of mine sent me your link. Dude I love your videos. The passion you have for your team is amazing and I loved every single one of these. I was at Game 7 and sat next to 2 totally chill Leafs fans and had a blast. Very sorry for the outcome but you guys played one hell of a series and should be proud of the way you guys played. Both Boston and Toronto have so much young talent I hope this rivalry gets better with each passing year!
Sorry Steve, you guys played your hearts out. As a Bruins fan, I had serious doubts about Game 7. The Leafs played way better than they did in games 1 and 2, and they really gave the Bruins a run for their money. I love the Leafs, just not when they’re playing the Bruins haha. I gotta say, on the Debrusk goal, while Gardiner did screw up, I honestly agree with what Don Cherry said after the game which is that Freddy is the blame for the goal too and he HAS to have that one. With Gardiner playing the body like that, the ONLY place Debrusk could have put it was five-hole and Freddy didn't cover it up.

I remember when I discovered your channel. I was 13 (I'm 19 now), and I was in the basement with my brother on the computer clicking on random videos. Somehow, in the recommended tab we saw one of your videos. At the time, I had JUST fallen in love with hockey after watching the leafs beat the Edmonton oilers at home. It was a crappy team, but I was hooked, and when me and my brother first clicked on your video we thought it was going to be one of those youtube videos that you watch, laugh at for being stupid, and then forget about. That is definitely not what happened. We both have not missed a single video, and watching your channel grow has been the most amazing thing. My love for hockey and the leafs has grown over the years and ive always been a silent watcher, a silent subscriber. Basically I just wanted to say thank you for what you do. Your videos are always bright spots in my day, making me laugh (the Clarke MacArthur bit was gold, hat guy is amazing), and I show your videos to as many hockey fans as I can. It only gets better from here as a Leafs fan, Nylander 21, Mitch 20, Auston 20, a lot of growing pains have happened over just the two years. They are eventually bound for sucess very soon, a few tweaks in the lineup will set up the leafs for a deep cup run next season. Unbelievable past couple of games by the Maple Leafs, it wasn’t the result we wanted by any means but the future is definitely looking bright. At the end of the day I bleed blue GO LEAFS GO

I always feel weird watching these final LFRs. I don’t want the Leafs to win, but when I see how disappointed you and other Leafs fans are when they do, I can’t help but feel bad. Oh well, now the Avs and Leafs are offseason buddies. What’s next? The draft? Free agency? Or what? What do we do now? I know I’m cheering for my second favourite team, the Bolts. The Leafs in 2017, 2018 and 2019 had heart unlike the 2020 and 2021 Leafs. We can mock them for not getting out of the first round since 2004, but 2017, 2018 and 2019 were years where I saw that the Leafs looked alive. 2018 and 2019 against the Bruins could have easily gone the other way. The 2020 and 2021 Leafs were arrogant and I did not feel bad for them losing. Choking a 3-1 series lead to the Habs was glorious after all the ridicule and disrespect the Toronto media and fans gave to the Habs.
Why’d this make me cry laughing and just out of joy for you? Steven Dangle we love you, for god’s sake you’ve made the leafs my second favorite team (gotta stay faithful to the homeboys though, sorry) and there’s nobody i’d rather listen to talk so passionately about a team that ruins his life but at the same time, is his life. Well Steve, I think I am going to have to call you Dr. Dangle because you helped me with the healing process after yet another heartbreaking loss. As a 20 year old Leafs fan who has not had an extraordinary amount of experience with the highs and lows of Leafs playoff hockey, I let my emotions take over last night and I became highly irrational and inconsolable rather quickly...But because of your level-headed and intelligent analysis of this game, I now have renewed optimism and renewed hope for next season. Yeah, we should have won that game, but this team is still rebuilding and you reminded me that this process is long and painful at times. Look man I Actually like Steves videos. I found him after the last regular season game we played the leafs and I enjoy his style of commentary with his humor. Hell i Even like some of his videos. I just enjoy hockey in general and this video was the best commentary ive seen of the game so far. Not gloating I just wanted to show what team i support.
Jake Gardiner. Is. A. Defensive. CANCER! I'M NOT EVEN A LEAFS FAN AND I WANT HIM TRADED, JESUS CHRIST! He was out there for 6 out of 7 goals, and granted Freddy let in a few softies, but that's just what Game 7 Andersen does (Western Conference hockey fan here). Gardiner said he didn't show up, wrong, JVR didn't show up, Bozak didn't show up, Matthews didn't show up (though he opened up the ice for the rest of the team), Jake actively made his team worse. And sure the refs sucked, but its a sport, that's how it is. Jake lost them that game, and as an Anaheim rival, I love criticizing Andersen, but he was left out to dry. "Oh he had a 50-point season" he's a DEFENSEman, he should know how to play DEFENSE, he's talented, but not as a blue-liner. Bet he'd make a great winger though, eh, eh.

I always feel weird watching these final LFRs. I don’t want the Leafs to win, but when I see how disappointed you and other Leafs fans are when they do, I can’t help but feel bad. Oh well, now the Avs and Leafs are offseason buddies. What’s next? The draft? Free agency? Or what? What do we do now? I know I’m cheering for my second favourite team, the Bolts. Either way, it was a fun ride, for both our teams. We might even see each other in a cup final within the next 2-5 years. Go Avs Go, see you next season.

Bostonian here, heartily appreciate your compliments Steve. I think we seriously overperformed this year and fear our return to earth next year as our rebuild isn't maybe 100% complete. I don't think it's the same in Toronto.

The Leafs in 2017, 2018 and 2019 had heart unlike the 2020 and 2021 Leafs. We can mock them for not getting out of the first round since 2004, but 2017, 2018 and 2019 were years where I saw that the Leafs looked alive. 2018 and 2019 against the Bruins could have easily gone the other way. The 2020 and 2021 Leafs were arrogant and I did not feel bad for them losing. Choking a 3-1 series lead to the Habs was glorious after all the ridicule and disrespect the Toronto media and fans gave to the Habs.
Why’d this make me cry laughing and just out of joy for you? Steven Dangle we love you, for god’s sake you’ve made the leafs my second favorite team (gotta stay faithful to the homeboys though, sorry) and there’s nobody i’d rather listen to talk so passionately about a team that ruins his life but at the same time, is his life. That’s just incredible. You got me in. Are you?

Well Steve, I think I am going to have to call you Dr. Dangle because you helped me with the healing process after yet another heartbreaking loss. As a 20 year old Leafs fan who has not had an extraordinary amount of experience with the highs and lows of Leafs playoff hockey, I let my emotions take over last night and I became highly irrational and inconsolable rather quickly...But because of your level-headed and intelligent analysis of this game, I now have renewed optimism and renewed hope for next season. Yeah, we should have won that game, but this team is still rebuilding and you reminded me that this process is long and painful at times. I appreciate the time and effort put into these entertaining videos, and I AM IN!!!

Look man I Actually like Steves videos. I found him after the last regular season game we played the leafs and I enjoy his style of commentary with his humor. Hell i Even like some of his videos. I just enjoy hockey in general and this video was the best commentary ive seen of the game so far. Not gloating I just wanted to show what team i support.

Jake Gardiner. Is. A. Defensive. CANCER! I'M NOT EVEN A LEAFS FAN AND I WANT HIM TRADED, JESUS CHRIST! He was out there for 6 out of 7 goals, and granted Freddy let in a few softies, but that's just what Game 7 Andersen does (Western Conference hockey fan here). Gardiner said he didn't show up, wrong, JVR didn't show up, Bozak didn't show up, Matthews didn't show up (though he opened up the ice for the rest of the team), Jake actively made his team worse. And sure the refs sucked, but its a sport, that's how it is. Jake lost them that game, and as an Anaheim rival, I love criticizing Andersen, but he was left out to dry. "Oh he had a 50-point season" he's a DEFENSEman, he should know how to play DEFENSE, he's talented, but not as a blue-liner. Bet he'd make a great winger though, eh, eh.
