More people need to realize what Elzhi is talkin about right here. Hip hop is filled with different complex rhyme schemes that follow a pattern and at the same time tells a story and also is packed with punchlines and wordplay. What other genre of music requires so much understanding of language and displays incredible wit? NONE.
its debatable but elzhi is up there for sure. I would of have chose royce instead of em. em on another level. but i believe royce and elzhi is a good discussion
lol once elzhi is done explaining his patterns the look on T3's face is like "how da fuck am i gonna follow dat nigga?" like he has to come up with a formula to his "stylin" now lol
see? this man can rock ill rhyme structures and flow patterns with nasty wordplay..and STILL tell a story! that's what's lacking in a lot of MC's... i'd love to see El and Pharoahe Monch on a joint
Maybe they're not basing their judgment on solely schemes and patterns? El is obviously the better technical artist, but Wayne has a bigger impact on my generation. That stands for something because now you start judging one from an INFLUENTIAL angle. If Elzhi didn't IMPACT a lot of these younger cats, how can you expect them to think El is better? They can't really relate. TWO different eras. ENTIRELY different sounds. WHOOOOOOLE different artist. I'd pick El in an instant, but I also understand why ppl love Wayne. The way he writes is easier to digest and some people don't have the patience to understand exactly what El is doing like we do. It's as simple as that, and it ain't hard to tell!
the way its done it doesnt have to be to every snare as long as ur words are smooth and ride the beat and arent rushed. its all good, i had the same problem didnt really perfect it til i was 19, just turned 20. freestyling helps a lot, and i noticed when im high u dont even pay attention to beat it just comes natural
shadow boxing is when you start with one style..switch to another one...then jump back to the original like Yeah, yeah, yeah; I'm a beast I'ma be leavin y'all sleep all in them trauma sheets The pall bearer the one, the two carryin you to who buryin you on the count of three I'm the llama to squeeze I can promise my knowledge degrees has started a lot of beefin The gall of you the call to of all of you to pause {*gasp*} The fall of your momma's cheeks ~royce
This was some real informative shit. If a niga wants 2 hone his craftmanship-my man laid down some education in that regard. It was real beneficial 4 a TRUE musician. Well appreciated 4sho. Yall definitely know yall shit!!!
@TommyWaters Out of curiosity, who exemplifies good rapping to you? I agree there are better artists as a whole, but how can you say Elzhi is whack when he demolishes "heavy hitters" like Lil Wayne easily? Are you basing it off his discography or just this video alone?
elzhi is super dope, his best verses on trinity but the best slum album to me is that fantastic vol 2. thats what put them on the map. if you want a classic hip hop album go cop that. that was dilla at his finest. p.e.a.c.e.
i think elzhi was talking bout rhyme schemes when he said shadowboxes and typewriters, like how A rhyme and B rhymes are positioned in lines and such, i could be wrong but thats my best guess
Is there a name of the song in which he teaches people how to rap? If so, what's the name of it? Did it come out on an album or mixtape? I'm dying to hear the rest of it. I've been looking, but I haven't found anything. Thanks in advance.
Ay what's the name of the song at the end where he teaches people how to spit cuz man he killed that shit so if anyone know the name of that song let me know
typewriter is like when they go straight through with no pauses kinda like the way graph or joe budden raps which is like a-b-c-d-e-f-g_h-i-j-k-l-m-n-o-p and shadowboxes is like the quick uneven pauses like meth, the old lil wayne, or jay z. its just like a-b_c-d_efg_h-i-j-k-_l_M...... if that makes sense lol
Let me try this pattern stuff. Ima keep it simple Im hungry so i look for my prey Pull out the AK and spray for a day Now i pray for my prey while it lay on my tray
@CDsnuts000 Nice dat was cold as ice Your lyrics git into my head like lice You gotta pay attention but i aint gonna tell you the price You aint got the money so your grab the dice Hahaha i kno i cant rapp
Yo i got well known flows you know im cold as dice/ my whole Soldiers suppose to fight, and steal ya bones then jet to open flights/ We got henious raps, basically bake and rape the track/ To claim are stats and tame you cats/ You send disses with sick tension who you aiming at/ when i throw grenades you slow your brakes/ Open the safe give me that coke in the case/ Before my people plunder and show with the flame/ Cocaine tooken Blow brains like cobain we broken your face./ Exposing your saftey you tried to hide/ From the sniper light we kill in these rival fights/ Not trying just an example to show what he was talking about.
Why you say that? lol I wouldn't be surprised because Los actually has a wide scope of knowledge on this kinda thing. He even studies the newer generation of artists.
guru is slept on mad nice, elzhi got him but not by a huge margin... alot of gurus best shit people never even heard lol **"what im here 4"** "moment of truth"
