Thank you so much for this amazing video. My son is 2 and we just experienced this a few nights ago. We thought we were losing him it lasted 7 minutes we knew it was a seizure but had no clue how to stop or help him through it. Incredibly scary.

Thank you so much for this my son had his first febrile seizure today and it was the scariest thing I’ve ever seen. This video really helped me I’m not in school but I like to understand the ins and outs to things
Well Hello there, my 8 month old daughter just had it 3days ago too. We just got released from hospital. And here I am Googling this thing as I have never heard of it. But this video explained it A LOT more than 3 different doctors we have seen, including a neurologist
My 5 year old son had his first and hopefully last one yesterday, convulsing, spasms, foaming etc, purple lips, bit his tonguebso the foam came out semi-read. I thought he was dead, I never want to feel that again.
Mere bete ko tej bukhar ke wajah se mirgi ke doure aana shuru huye ASSICON SYRUP AUR BRANOCON SYRUP 8_9 mahine Diya jhatke aana he band ho gaya Accha work karta hai...
Those corticosteroids deplete multiple nutrients: Beta carotene, vitamins B6, C, D, folic acid, calcium, magnesium, zinc, potassium, selenium. Boosting 25 OHD blood level (vit. D) is important and pretty basic for MS. Zinc stabilizes the endothelium and helps normalize inflammatory cytokine release. Selenium (selenomethionine, not selenite) plays a key role in changing sulfhydryl groups (SH) to (HSe) in selenocysteine. Selenocysteine is needed in thioredoxin reductases, glutathione peroxidases (GPx4 is the only substance that will rescue phosphatidylethanolamine from oxidation in the lipid bilayer of the cell), and other important enzymes. Great video, as usual! Plan to watch it again later.
Brilliant stuff: A few comments: Blood workup includes Sodium, glucose, and calcium.GIT: A history like diarrhea or vomiting with routine stool exam and culture and if clinical needs then an ultrasound.
Have you ever heard of a recurring febrile seizures every 35-40 days? No rash. We have been to every kind of doctor and all we have is a steroid that stops the fever to stop the seizures. The 4th fever was the second seizure that turned into 3 small seizures in a 3-4 hour period. No UTIs and no pneumonia. Would like your thoughts.
Mere bete ko tej bukhar ke wajah se mirgi ke doure aana shuru huye ASSICON SYRUP AUR BRANOCON SYRUP 8_9 mahine Diya jhatke aana he band ho gaya Best hai..
Would have loved this when my kids were babies. Very traumatizing to watch but all the docs explained it to me as if they tripped & would be ok LOL Sent my kids/niece/nephew this for their future/family knowledge. Thank you SO much!!!
Thank you for the lecture. Just a few points worth mentioning: post ictal phase can be up to 1 hour in simple febrile seziure. Also most focal febrile seziures are short (less than 5 min). No need for any imaging for gastroenteritis. EEG is not needed for febrile seizures. Rarely EEG requested for reccurent episodes.
My 2-yr-old son has had three, each one about seven months apart. He's in pre-pre-K school, so viruses are plentiful lol. We just try to keep both our kids healthy (4-yr-old sister). His first EEG was clear, and he's got another one next week, so we'll see. This last seizure was less than 30 seconds, and after a 20 minute nap, he was running around like normal. The first two, his temp was around 102F, but the last one was lower, so he must be real sensitive. His head wasn't warm, but his body was. He was out of it quickly, so we did not call an ambulance (doctor visit the next day). We aren't sure what caused the first one at 17 months, his second one was a week after his mmr vaccine, and this last one, which was last week, he ended up having strep throat. We give him an elderberry/zinc gummy every morning, and a couple zinc/ginger/elderberry/vitamin C drops in his daily water jug (it's a tincture mixture). Any more suggestions? Kind of a rant lol, but hopefully this eases some minds. It's definitely scary stuff. God bless.
My 3 yo daughter just had febrile conv 😢 it really2 scares me even now (already home yesterday).. Her sodium level is a lil low, has fever & infection (blood test), and covid positive.. It was the scariest nightmare 😢😢 i cant sleep well these days, try to collect info as much as i can, so i can ease my mind.. Thanks for the video, it explained so much that yes : my daughter has viral infection + sodium down + fever and fortunately it was simple one.. 😢

We love ninja nerd You are adorable wish that you would restrict using the medical abbreviations so we can recall them easier when we revise the lecture from your board
Thanks so much and by the way, a question: I saw in other videos that it says that acetaminophen doesn't actually reduce fever. Why is there that belief? Well, in the video you say that it does work. Thanks again for the video and greetings.🙃🙃
This is your first video that I have watched, and I absolutely loved it. (+1 subscription) I am not a doctor, but I have understood (I think) a great part of the video, Thanks a lot! Calcitrinol, which is active vitamin D, form can inhibit COX-2, so could there be potentially some benefits of using it for a fever? Or does it take too long to be effective?
My grandson has periodic fever syndrome, an autoinflammatory disease that presented when he was 18 months old and continued until today. He is eleven years old now, and seems to have fewer episodes. At times, His temperature went as high as 105-106 degrees. This is not caused by infection. I was always afraid that he might have a seizure with such high temperatures, but he never did. Fever treated with Tylenol and Advil.
as far as i know, infections also cause cytokines and cytokines help excitability of neurons. infection (cytokines) + fever + alkolosis = likely seizure but your grandson doesn't have infection, one factor eliminated = seizure unlikely
Being a computer science graduate I could understand the topic with so much clarity after watching this. My kid had a febrile seizure yesterday and I am here today to understand this after being so worried about it.
For medical student conceptual clearity very important. But when it comes to medicine etiology part is what we should recall from pathology (ref.robins)
Can Hypernatremia cause seizures? And what's the point of assessing sodium ion levels in febrile seizures (unless altered sodium ion levels itself is a known cause of fever)? There are many proximate causes of FS as you explained in the initial 1/3rd of the video.
Guys plz if anyone can send me the link to NSAIDS lecture? I can't find it.....when i started watching NN , i've seen it in pharmacology playlist then when i needed to watch , not found......
