  • In this video I make a mount for the drone controller so I am able to connect it to the Quad lock mount and hopefully all goes to plan for the upcoming trip.

A few little tweeks to do, but I think it will work well, definitely much better than my mavic air.

I had the same problems with my AIR2S in the same sort of terrain, works great in open outback country.

This one should go well, it just did a firmware update and the auto tracking seems to be better now. Will be fine when im in the middle of nowhere.

I've just got the Mini 4 Pro as well (after I lost the 3 Pro in the Murray!) and was keen to see how your mount worked. I guess with a max drone speed of ~47km/h you won't be thrashing the controller too much but I'd still put a lanyard on it - just in case. Also, Sports mode disables the collision avoidance sensors, so don't try that! Shame we can't get the Skydio here in Oz. The DJI follow me functions just aren't good enough on these small drones, especially in obstacle rich environments. Thanks for the post though. Look forward to following a brother DX owner.

It should be ok for what I want to do, once I get out into the desert im going to test out sports mode, but knowing me, ill still manage to find that one tree to hit haha.

This place was a bit better to ride before the Bushfires in 2019, but it will get back to being a bit better one day. Where abouts do you ride?

I had a nap on my 890 with that mount and the vibration damper with my phone on it, it broke the vibration damper part so I’d keep a close eye on that if you’re putting even heavier things on it.

Im definitely keeping an eye on it thats for sure.

How long have you had the Anti Vibration mount? I found mine needed replacing as the rubber blocks had excessive play and my phone wobbled around too much. Replaced it with a spare I had and all good again. They obviously have a lifespan where the play becomes unacceptable.

Yeah, had this one since I got the bike so about 14 months, its fine for the phone at this stage but yeah does wobble a bit with the controller attached. Might be a good idea to replace it before my big trip.

this is interesting as mine also wobbles a lot but i think that's just how it is. I did reinstall it thinking something must be loose.

If this is what you want to use the drone for, you got the wrong drone.
