thank you. I have seen other people do their distressing for a layered look, but this one seems simplest. thank you very much. I will revisit this video when I do my next project.
Great video. I'm so excited, I I asked everyone to give me your products for Christmas this year. Can't wait to try your paints! You have some beautiful colours.
After learning about this paint, I want to paint "all the things"!! I have a 5 foot shelf in my garage that my hubby and I are super close to completing. I took the stain we had picked out back, in anticipation of painting it with your paints instead! I can't decide on the color!
Love this effect and your tutorials! Can crackle medium be added between the top 2 layers to have a little crackle effect together with the distressed effect?

Quick Question: If you are going to do something like this on a larger piece of furniture, would you have to paint small parts and distress it as you go because this paint dries quickly?
It depends a bit on how large the piece is and how quickly you paint, but I would say you should be fine to paint your whole piece then distress it afterwards! I like to let my paint dry for about 20-30 minutes before I wet distress it, so if you find it's taking more than half an hour to apply a full coat to your whole piece, you could certainly do it in sections instead.

Hi Reece, This was done using Country Chic Paint which is a chalk-based paint. Acrylic paint may work but it tends not to be as easy to distress. We haven't used every brand on the market of course so it may be worth experimenting with!
Hi there, so how long do you wait for the base layer to dry...and then the middle layer after distressing? I tried this but with the third coat and distressing I only got the base layer to show through but not second layer? thanks
Hi Lauren, With wet distressing, you only need to let the paint dry for about 20-30 minutes before you start gently rubbing it with a damp cloth. To make sure your second paint color shows up as well as the first, make sure you start out by rubbing VERY gently. It sounds like your distressing rubbed right down to the first coat so to avoid doing that everywhere, just be very gentle. I hope this helps!
ok, its a bead board wall and i want to have a bit of pine peaking through so thought i would use the graphite glaze on it. Also can paint go over the glaze for a reverse method?
love your videos bit you need to fix the left and right audio issue. The music is always great but voice audio is always on the left. Aside from that I find the videos very helpful. Apologies if this comes across rude.
LunnyBear Hi there, we definitely appreciate your feedback! I would recommend double checking to make sure all of your audio equipment is plugged in and your settings are all normal. Usually it can be fixed by making sure your headphones/speakers are plugged in all the way. I hope that helps! ~Sarah
No need for "special" paint. If you use any wax, it will yellow and degrade in sunlight (not UV stable) and will be a an abs' pain to remove. Been doing this for great many years and fail-safe method is to use egg shell water based emulsion with good quality brush - as with all painting less is more so do not be tempted to apply paint in thick coats. Wait for approx one hour (in 17°C) when it should be touch dry. Then use small piece (10cm x 50cm) of dampened decorator's sponge (as sold for tiling and which do not break-up) to remove paint. A rag is not as good at replicating wear based erosion and rub-sponging leaves a much better finish. Apply at least 2 coats of paint and repeat process - this gives you some practice at removing paint. Eggshell is excellent durable finish. Voila.
Very Cool!!!! You Made It Look Like I Might Even Give IT A Try. 🥰
I hope you do! We'd love to see how it turns out. Happy painting!
I adore watching this lady. She is so serene and lovely, and clever. Thanks so kindly for all you do.xx🌹
Thank you so much!

I'd love to try it on my coffee and end tables. Thanks for the helpful video.
Helpful video and a technique I haven't tried yet. I would use it on a vintage chair I have.
I've always used sandpaper to do my distressing but love the results of this! Can't wait to try it on a table I recently picked up recently.
Great technique. I'd love to try this on several pieces... end tables, bookcases and shelves.
Great video. I have a vintage suitcase that I would love to do this on
Thanks for the video! Would love to try this on my nightstands!
I'd love to try it on a dresser I have!
Me too
It already has three coats of different colors
This way I won't have to take any off
:-)
Can I do a table with this technique with 3 different greys? Or would it not contrast well? I'm brand new
ar this.😊
Nice thanks for the info
Can I use non-chalk paint as my base/primer coat and then paint over it with chalk paint that I will distress to show the color of the base paint?
Was the wood sanded first before applying paint ?
Thanks

Hi Jiawei,
Yes, you could definitely do that! Thanks for watching :)
What sort of paint is best to use..oil or emulsion..?
And what sort of wax.. liquid or solid..?
Love this!!...my mind is going crazy thinking about the things I could use this technique on. I would love the opportunity to be entered in your draw.

This is Country Chic Paint!

is your paint water base? acrylic? just regular water paint? thank you.
Hi Laura,
Our paint is a water-based, clay paint :)
could i use a glaze over this to create the same technique?
You could definitely use a glaze over this, but it won't look quite the same.
ok, its a bead board wall and i want to have a bit of pine peaking through so thought i would use the graphite glaze on it. Also can paint go over the glaze for a reverse method?
Yes, you can apply our paint over top of our glaze :)
thank you. :-)
