Awesome personality, he really seems to enjoy his job. Thank you for the video. I just discovered these cold weather flowers last year. And we really like having some color in the winter
I know this was 1 year ago but in the off chance you read this -- I'm in zone 9 and pansies are sold starting in March through mid summer here. Summers are in upper 90's to low 100's Fahrenheit; in the late summer from mid to end of July thru mid August, temps hit 110° - 115°. Pansies bloom year round and even thru SUMMER! They are a perennial here and i have one pot that is now 2 years old. Also, another plant labeled as an annual are Gerber Daisies! I recently lost a Gerber after 12 years 😭 and that made me sad... We keep Pansies hanging in the eves out of direct sun. I use Miracle Grow all purpose and dead head as needed. So i just thought I would let you know that just maybe you don't need to assume pansies wont last!
Yeah, I was thinking in zone 9 they would have to be cool shade plants. You can usually find a microclimate in your garden to push your zone boundaries just a bit. I had a spider plant that would come back from the roots every year in zone 7b. 🤷
Thank you for the info this is my first fall season of planting pansies and your info is great I am going to pick up some of the Bio-tone today for the plant food
Didn't mention pinching off blooms when faded. In spring pinch back for fuller foliage and flowers. Blood meal is a great fertilizer for pansies. Mix a little in your potting soil. I would put the fertilizer he mentions in with ground potted pansies. Cover lightly with some pine needles in extreme cold weather. Where I live not much really freezing temperature. Plant on east side of house if you can and the flowers will be pretty for spring. West side to hot with warmer climates. Northwest part of house is good. East side gets morning sun afternoon shade. Best side of house for hotter summers for flowers. I put flocks in purple and pink and they were pretty all summer. Put some warm castings in with your ground dirt if it's to hard. I always put my mowed up leaves in my beds during winter. Hate mulch. I put coffee grounds, banana peels, egg shells and scraps to add to soil. I'm all natural on what I put in my soil over the winter months. By summer you have a good bed to work with and plant flowers.
I have done a starter tray of pansies. Everything i saw said i need to leave them in the dark so i have been. They are sprouting now and are adorable. Im wondering when i can move them out of the dark? A few hasnt sprouted yet but most have. Some of the sprouts are about an inch tall.
You're really good on camera, and easy to follow your instructions. You editing is good too! I love Bio-tone, makes a huge difference! I live in Northwest Arkansas! My son handles lots of social media for commerical clients., you need more exposure. You would be a really big hit with the garden community! Should I have him contact you?
Good Lord!! I came for the pansies but I stayed for that spin!🥰👏👏👏👏

No care involved in this video . Was more like an advertisement for land scaping . Click bait video
There’s literally a whole section for care. Very very clearly did not watch the video
