  • Hello everyone! It's been a long time since I've made a video. But this one was sitting in my backlog forever. I hope the sound quality is not a bother... I made it with my backup microphone. But, I decided to go for it anyway. I was excited to get something posted since it has been an extremely long time. I'll talk about the reason why I've been away in my next video, but I wanted to get this posted this morning. In this video, I talk about how an artist can use blend modes to quickly enhance the feeling of light in a scene without doing a lot of repainting. This technique is also helpful for rapid testing of colors and contrast.
As always, there are a lot of tips and tricks embedded in the painting process. I hope you'll check out the video and keep coming back for more. I hope I'll be back as well! I know it's been an extremely long time since I've made content. And I hope you can forgive that and jump back into this journey with digital painting with me!

Great video, thanks. I'm getting back into digital painting after a few years of not doing it and have always wanted to get that look of painting light with big strokes in a painterly alla prima kind of look in my landscapes. I always picked colours directly and never experimented with layer blending but it really seems to make things pop, that intensity of the light and the cool feeling of the shadows is what I really always strived for so I really need to give it a go.
