  • SHOULD EVERYONE USE THIS HYBRID? This year we have seen the launch of the Taylormade Sim range of drivers and woods... for the hybrid fans out there we have a new hybrid... not only do we have one... but Dustin Johnson and Rory McIlroy do too... DJ's new Hybrid and Rory's new hybrid could potentially be the best hybrid out there for all of us? the new taylormade sim max hybrid is causing shockwaves in the golf community... which hybrid should you use? who should use a hybrid? hybrid vs long irons? we all know the debate! lets do it... and lets do it now!

I bought this hybrid on a whim while heading out of town for a golfing trip. Having less than a year of golf under my belt at 51 years old, the guy at Dicks Sporting goods must have must have really scratching his head wondering why would a terrible golfer, like me, be buying a club that I couldn’t hit well during the trial. I had a feeling that it was a good product and that with enough hard work and practice, I would eventually figure it out. Well, I use it quite often on par 5s. I hit it VERY straight for around 230 yards. It has put me on the green on my second shot on par 5s many times. This is my favorite club in my bag.😍

I love my hybrids, I have some older TM Hybrids (rescue). I have a 3, 4, 5 and 6. They are perfect for the senior golfers like me. My long irons are all on the shelf now. I am looking to upgrade this year so I will be testing the new SIM hybrids myself. And yep, I would go for the 7 hybrid.

@@max_w6547 thanks coach but the even numbered 'M' series (M2, M4, M6) are well known to be the game improvement series of clubs for TM.
The M6 hybrid is heal weighted, toe up and closed face (relative to let's say, the M3 rescue/hybrid).
Just in this case, they've gone a little over board in the slice correction.
I wouldn't make the comment if I wasn't hitting every other hybrid straight/slight fade. Handed my club to countless people and had the same result. That's the reason it's not in the bag anymore.

I switched to a hybrid about 12-ish years ago and never looked back. Made the move because i was having trouble with my driver slice and found myself in the rough to the side of the fairway quite a bit, which made me afraid to use my 5-wood. The game improvement was immediate, i soon found i could confidently use my hybrid as a 5-wood replacement, or out of any bad lie, or a deep divot or even a fairway bunker. Always felt i could swing down and harder with it, more like my iron swing. Extremely versatile club to have in the bag.

I am a hybrid person. I use Ping Rapture hybrids which match my irons and I have the 2,3,& 4. 0r 18, 21 & 24 degrees. I also use a 5wood which is a Ping G20. I am thinking of going to the Cleveland Launcher HB Turbo irons or the Wilson or Cobra equivalents. I have been considering Taylormade hybrids as they go down to 6 but it would mean changing my irons as I have traditional lofts (34 degree 7iron) and would appreciate some modern technology.

I swear, over the last year, I’ve improved with fairway woods but I’ve lost ability to swing hybrids. I did get a chance to swing the SIM Max 3wood and it is actually very nice, and I normally can’t stand TM.

I've only ever played irons and never owned a driver or wood. Looking to move some into my bag so thinking of starting with a hybrid and then a driver. Was thinking cobra at first but may look at a 3hybrid of this sim max. Anyone have any help / opinions to offer?

Still use a Cleveland Mashie 3 hybrid for 190 to 205 type shots and more often than that to hit low shots from out of the trees.

I think hybrids are great. Indeed have replaced my 5 wood with one. And below 6/7 iron hybrids are a great club. I have and love the ts2 21 and May add a 19 degree to it. Tried the mavrik hybrids. Did not like them in comparison. Trying the cobras soon to compare and if I get a change the sims but likely to stick with the titleists. Hybrids also help you to reduce the number of clubs you carry and are reliable for par 3s, varying your strike and with the right one - like the titleists- working the ball different ways.

Always had two hybrids in my bag - a 3 and a 4. Used to be Nike, but ever since the TaylorMade M2 (2017) got released I've stuck with TaylorMade.

I game a Cobra Fly-Z 4-5 hybrid. I find it more consistant and more forgiving to hit than a long iron.
