I got 2 Matt Boldy pro stock sticks and they both have black spray paint on the bottom. I think it looks sick and am definitely gonna do it with my next stick
Yes. Always painted the blade black though. Going from Louisville wood-colored wood sticks to replacement blades in 2-piece aluminum/composites to the (mostly) gray early Synergys. After that, aside from a few exceptions, most 1-piece sticks were usually black anyway. Would go out on the back porch, sprawl out some tarp, put some masking tape above the area I was gonna paint (I wanted those clean/sharp lines), spray paint the blade area and sit them standing up against wall (over tarp) to dry. Sometimes would do a quick second coat, let ‘em dry a few minutes, then get the heat gun & give ‘em a quick once over 😎
@@coyotwolf8 ya ik I noticed that too and I’m curious to know how he does it to because it looks clean I’m assuming he tapes the shin guard to the tendon guard then puts his sock over it

YES or NO? Have you ever spray painted any of your gear? If so what was it?
Comment below, we can't WAIT to hear what you guys come up with 👇
No but maybe I’ll try
I do

You can try to guess a player only by his stick. Little quiz topic idea 🙂
Such a good idea 👍
they still needa do this

Bardown Quiz: Replicating stick tape jobs 😂
oh god that would be a great video
Great video love these ones where the players talk about there gear, wish there was more of these!
Hockey players are so weird lol… But, I’m here for it. 😂
I love this type of content, more leafs stick insight
Yeah, that's what we need more Toronto Maple Losers content
More vids like this😔
Bardown quiz: guess who’s tape job is on a stick
I was so curious about why he does it & how 😂
Thank you for this amazing video 😊😊😊
Glad you liked it!!
Never spray painted a stick, done other stuff with grips/tack rag/stickers. Marc Savard breaking down tape jobs would be the perfect add on.
Love his cap, Börje Salming RIP!
Yes, painting your stick magically turns you into Wayne Gretzky.
We need more Great ones.
@@arlenstrauch Wayne is the only one :)
my coach wears a gretzky99 oilers jersey to training and i cringe every time
Been doing this since i saw the white ccm in nhl14
How to spray paint your own stick. Step 1: spray paint stick.
Played two years w spezza & steals his style
Willy is such a beauty
Nylander is why the leafs are serious ✔🇨🇦🇺🇸
Always thought his sticks looked good in white didnt know he spray painted them
i cannot believe that sherwood dont just give him a mostly white stick like it cant be that hard for them!
He points it at the stick and presses the button on top.
Lol top comment. It's like... seriously? 😅
Willies friends:
Bro you are skilled without the spray paint.
Willie: No boys the paint gives the twig about 20 extra horse power.
Spray painted the white RBZ bottom black back in 2014. A buddy from the Kinston Voyageurs passed on to us
My question is does Willy (or any of the guys really) TALK to their sticks. I've heard NHLers say they do so that's what i want to know.
😂
You don’t talk to your stick?
@@SimRacingVeteran i do i aint gonna lie
I used to do this back in 2010-11, after wizniewski from the montreal canadians

Ask connor bedard how he does his sock tuck please
dont pull the sock down all the way, wrap clear around ur shins then tuck the back tendon

i really get starstruck everytime i see nylander he such a great guy and player
Bought a game used Willy stick in 2017 when he painted them black still and always wondered why he painted them
Ses quoi la peinture utilisée
does nylander use a taller stick than normal? how tall is his stick and how tall is he? where does it sit standing with skates? thanks!
Who didnt kno he spray painted them white after he got injured for about 3games a couple seasons ago
"It's all in the stick." Of course it is. And he likely says it's all in the skates as well. LOL We know where the real skill is.
So off topic but i need that half zip Willy is wearing those colors 🫣
Does his tape go from toe to heel, or heel to toe? Can't tell from the video.
I don’t think spray paint will help my game any.
Superstition that's all it is.
I used to like the fluorescent pink Titan wood sticks back in the 80's. I don't think I would paint over those ones.
Don't be breathing in the paint 🤢
didnt know he used a sherwood
What kind of paint ?
Sherwood on the come up
Seems gimmicky
What a year breaker for Nylander 🇨🇦🤣🌐

It's funny just the other day I was saying how I hate the white bottom to his stick.
I think he should order paint a tiny bit off-white to match the tape better. Now it's too white.
