Parasite Eve was the more innovative title. However, Parasite Eve 2 is more fun to play plus explore. It doesn't really do anything new per sé...but it makes the most of what it has.

+Ragitsu An enhanced edition is just an upscale of resolution and possibly tweaks to the gameplay to make it feel more modern. A remake is just as the word entails. The game is built from the ground up. I.E: Final Fantasy 7.
+Pg TrAxX An enhanced version of PE1 I can be happy with. But PE 2 really needs to be remade, not just enhanced. Still loved it, was just held back WAAAAYYY too much by the PS1 capabilities unlike the first game in the series.

i just beat this game a few days on epsxe 1.9 for old times sake, and i think this game have the best grapics of the psx era, squaresoft (not square-enix) was the best company in the gaming industry of the 90s, they did FF7, 8, 9, PE, PE2, and Crono Cross in what, 5 years? they were doing alot of excelent games and fast, to this day i still dont know wtf happened when the new era came in...
It's amazing how much this game was an improvement from the original PE, better combat system, better graphics, better story, better magic system, better everything. Usually game series got backward after the first game but not PE2.

all these games from that era had similarities. Grandia, Final fantasy, resident evil, parasite eve, etc.. There is a reason they were all so awesome. changing the formula is why any newer games in those franchises sucked ass. lol

I've never seen a game with the same dense atmosphere again after PE II. Especially the beginning and the CG quality is top notch even for today's standards.
The tower level reminds me of Die Hard, with the helicopter exploding. One person fighting an entire building full of bad guys. And the people outside watching.

Akropolis Tower part used to scared me so much when I first played this as a kid. They nailed the atmosphere of dreadfulness and an uncertainty so much. Took me years to over that fear and finally get pass it. What a game in certain areas it was better than Resident Evil 2.
This game was one of the last games to come out for the ORIGINAL Playstation (PS1) - as such the graphics are phenomenal, especially in the cut-scenes. I'm wondering, are you able to save the game using an emulator? Are you trying to unlock bonuses for subsequent rounds, or playing once just for kicks? You're obviously an experienced player, knowing all the trigger points even without the map. Yet you used items like protein capsules and belt pouches which are normally stored in a box for massive bounty points useful for a next go-round. PS there's shotgun slugs in the trunk of the car on the lift puzzle, and No 9 HATES slugs. Also there's many great guides/walkthroughs on gamefaqs (dot com) which will answer many of the questions people have here in the comments section. Thx!
The emulator has a built in memory card for the normal playstation saving, and that save can be used for replay mode as per the playstation, but you can also use save states and save and load the game instantly at any point in the game.
+ajmolaliful It's actually quite short. If you factor in the backtracking you have to do in order to clear all the hotzones everytime they respawn then yea, the game can be pretty lengthy, but just playing through the game- you can finish it in about 2 hours. The world record is like 1 hour and 30.
But imagine playing it as a kid in late 90s. No internet that we know today to kack you up when you stuck on boss or puzzle. Most of you english knowledge is from dictionary laying on your lap. It's long on first playthrough, speedruning is different thing - world record for Morrowind is like 5 minutes.
i still remember that time I got the last weapon Gun Blade, Squall's sword(FF8).. Sadly, when play until half way, the disc seems stuck and unable to proceed.. Nice game.. Just love it..

i still remember that time I got the last weapon Gun Blade, Squall's sword(FF8).. Sadly, when play until half way, the disc seems stuck and unable to proceed.. Nice game.. Just love it..
I'M NOT HESITANT TO SAY THIS IS MY FAVORITE GAME OF ALL TIME!!! I'VE REPLAYED IT LIKE 15-20 TIMES IN MY LIFE, THEY JUST DON'T MAKE THEM LIKE THIS ANYMORE, I'D SAY WHAT REALLY STANDS OUT IS THE CREATIVITY OF ENEMY DESIGN AND LEVEL DESIGN TO THE SCI-FI BIO-ENGINEERING DEPTH OF THE GAME AS WELL.
i'm glad i knew old game masterpiece like this even tho' i'm 18 yo, my dad recommend this game when i was like 7 yo.
it's unfortunate many nowadays game aren't unique like this anymore.
