@@deborahchesser7375 it has quite a bit of effective horror. I actually think the lack of voice overs (rather than crappy voice acting) helps the game age better.
The idea of where PE 2 was going intrigued me. Aya being like Eve. Two sides of the same coin. The main distinction is Aya using her powers for good while serving as an agent in an organization (MIST) to fight neo mitochondrial creatures. Creatures formed from incarnations of Eve. Everytime Aya kills one Eve, another pops up somewhere like a weed. However, the new Eve adapts due to the memories of the previous one, with a new plan on how to destroy humanity. Aya traveling the globe whenever an Eve incarnation is born while also growing her own powers. I think that would’ve worked well for this franchise.
Necrosis is really good early in the game. Using it on the invisible enemies it poisons them and they come out of hiding trying to shake it off. Plasma knocks those ramming ANMCs off balance so they can't hit you. Later, you get Apobiosis which paralyzes enemies and even gives them seizures. It's useful when it works on most enemies, and stops them from attacking. (It also works on the last boss. You can paralyze her.) Even works on low level golems. Lastly, I think investing into the water magic is useful early and later in game. So you can self suffiently heal, and metabolism cures all ailments. (Unless you are silenced.)

This franchise deserves a true revitalization. It just blows mind how it went dormant for so long... If it were up to me, it would be a mix of RE 2: Remake, with some light rpg and customization for skill sets and weapons. Stages are fine, bit I'd like to see more fully fleshed out maps with multiple paths and detail, with non linear progression.
As far as I know, the author of the original Parasite Eve story (it was a novel) absolutely hated how Square used it and revoked their rights to it. It's why 3rd Birthday is so weird. The author also hated the movie as far as I know as well and I don't blame him, lmao.
I was 7 when I got a PS2, my first PlayStation, but a friend told me I needed to play this PS1 game. I fell in love, but could not beat the main boss at the end of level 1.
At the risk of asking a stupid question - how are you playing this on your PC? My old PS1 is completely toast and my PS2 is knocking on death's door. I've owned this game since I was a kid and I want to play it again, but I'd really like to play it on my office computer if it's feasible. Thanks for the great vid, liked and subbed.
You need an emulator. I used beetle psx hw with vulkan rendering via retroarch for this recording but this is slightly more complicated to set up compared to some other alternatives, such as epsxe. I can't provide any links, you'll have to search around on your own. If you have a PS3 or a VITA, you can buy and play it off the playstation store.
Why do most players of this game like to use that mini machine gun it's so weak and a waste of bullets. Use PO8 with a snail magazine it has a very high crit chance and very efficient when it comes to bullets.
Damage is based on the bullet being fired in this game, not the gun. So, every handgun firing the base handgun ammo does the same low damage. The m950 simply does that low damage relatively quickly and without needing to reload constantly. I don't know about crits, there might be a real mathematical advantage there but in practice you have easy access to endless amounts of ammo at nearly every point in the game so I'm not sure efficiency is that important.
I don't think so. Try both weapons on a whole walkthrough so you can compare. I've beaten nightmare mode for god knows how many times so I know how good PO8 is and that high crit but hey you know what they say, to each their own.
@@Wilpeterlao I'll be sure to do so if I ever come back to this game to capture the other endings, I'm a little curious and I had forgotten about the other difficulties.
With all the 9mm ammo boxes in the game, I'm not sure I'd call it a waste of ammo. After watching this playthrough, I kind of want to play this game again and give the M950 another chance. I had sort of defaulted to the M4 and P229 over it when I was a kid, but it's used to great effect in this video.
