If you lived here in KC you’d understand. We LOVED the old Zinger. Ever since it went away we have been screaming at WoF to bring it back. My dad was so upset that he has refused to visit WoF for 20+ years. When he heard about the new coaster on the news he was open to going back for the first time when I pitched the idea. I rode the old Zinger as a kid and I can’t wait to ride the new one.

I have been going to this park my entire life. After 35 years I have some very fond memories that I will cherish forever. I remember going to dolphin shows and lazer light shows when I was a kid. I remember when Mamba was put in and when Camp Snoopy was created. In my opinion there are 2 things keeping this from being a world class park. A gigacoaster and a launch coaster. It has the room for both and plenty more.

I think this coaster will actually do wonders for Worlds of Fun. I think this coaster will be a hit amongst families and will really increase attendance and season pass sales amongst families, which will ultimately spend the most amount of money at the park. I think this could pave the way for larger investments down the road. With Kansas City being a city that is growing at a fairly quick rate, I do think it has the potential to be a better middle tier Cedar Fair park. Something more in like with CGA or KD.

The park was packed in the 80's do to its newness and rides offered. It fell off in 1995 after Cedar Fair purchased it..........
Cedar Fair tried to bring back that nostalgia with the unique Mamba opening in 1998. Living in the St. Louis area, I definitely hit up WOF at least once a year for Halloween Haunt (this park does it better than anyone else), but with this new addition, I may have to bump that up to at least 2 visits.

It seems to be a trend where most new roller coasters are wooden. Maybe that’s because I live in Missouri. Silver Dollar City added Outlaw run a few years ago. But they broke the trend with Time Traveler.

The original Zambi-zi Zinger was a family favorite of ours in the 1990s. So disappointed when they moved it to Columbia and very glad they're bringing back something vaguely similar in the same old place.
However, I went to the park today and this ride is not open yet. Its opening has been delayed and we're not sure how long yet.

The original Zinger also had a short tunnel. Nothing fancy, but enough to get dark in the daytime. They really need to include that to truly pay homage as it was just as iconic to me as the spiral hill.

@@AdamSmith-gs2dv Is that really how it works? I mean, that's weird. It should simply be if there's a mixture of two tracks, it's a hybrid. Simple. That's like the 3rd definition of what a wood coaster is I've heard too. Seems we should agree on a real basic definition. I mean, White Lightning is considered a hybrid on RCDB. And its only got 55' of Titan track.

It is quite interesting that both corporate Missouri parks have gone with 3 woodies. Albeit each has a very different trio - Six Flags having three different manufacturers with 3 different train designs so they have no part commonality.
