Thanks Gideon. This comment means a lot to me because expanding the classical side of youtube was the whole point of this channel. So I’m so glad that like the video.
Looking forward to seeing this channel grow. Great content so far! I have been playing piano on and off (rather poorly) for over ten years, but I am now 6 weeks into receiving lessons and it's going really well. Your lessons have bolstered today's practice efforts! Thanks and good luck 🙏
you’re playing some really iconic pieces for your repertoire this semester!! Excited to hear more of the pieces. I think it would be cool to see your process of learning a completely new piece, how you approach a brand new piece and how you break down technical passages and whatnot.
Hey Sean! Recently discovered your channel and have been watching a lot! I want to ask you how you decided to go to Melbourne Uni and if you have any tips to help people like me who wants to decide where to go. I’m really lost! Thanks in advance!
Thank you! I’m originally from Brisbane, and I’ve been going to the Queensland conservatory since i was 15. Once I graduated highschool, I realised that bigger cities had more to offer so I decided to make that change. And I’m very happy with the decision I made. But if you’re serious about performing, I just want to tell you that the teacher you get is much more important than which university you are at. So I suggest that you ask around and find out who the best teacher might be for you.
Do you know any piano students at your uni who didn’t practice a ton in their young youth? Is it possible to still study music even if you are behind and really start hardcore practicing with 16?
Don't know about his uni, but I half assed piano practice till I graduated highschool, then didn't touch piano till I was 21. Decided I wanted to pursue it further and got into a decent private college after about 6months of intense prepping. So I didn't really attempt to take piano seriously until my early 20s and still made it work, so never to late.
You can still study piano at any age the only difference is you learn faster when you're young. Also natural talent plays a big role on picking up new things so maybe you're talented on it.
Yes. Making into uni is doable if you practice hard enough. The real question is whether you can make a career out of it.. literally everyone except for the top 1% of students struggle once they graduate 😢
@@seankimmmmmm Do you think it would still be worth it, if you have a great passion for music, even without the talent and probabiltiy to ever become really good at the piano?
Your open and honest conversation about music is great, earned my support! Keep it up, the classical scene needs more like you!
