Hello everyone! Well, now that the green house is basically finished ( still have minor things to do to it), It is time to start prepping for our next project. We needed to make room in our tent in order to store some things that are in the pole barn. While digging through some old totes, we came across some really awesome finds that we have not seen in years. Also, we went to town and make some really great discoveries at a local store. Hubby was a Marine in Vietnam. Still has his dress blues! Can't fit in them, but still has them. 😅
I have an idea to help you find your holiday decorations quickly without having to move each tote. put holiday themed stickers on the totes.
I have a tote for each season or holiday and they are different vllors. Red for christmas black/purple for halloween orange for Thanksgiving/fall Green for Spring,/ Easter and go smaller totes. Then clear smaller totes with labels for crafts or seasonal clothes or whatever. And a giveaway/donate/freebie tote. That anyone whk vomes by can hi tgru when its fulm it all gets donated and start anew with the empty one.
Better yet, use green or red totes.
They have to find them first 😅😅😅😅
Or use colored lids. Green or red for Christmas, red or blue for patriotic holidays, orange for Halloween, yellow for summer, and pastel for Easter. They do have different color lids depending on which totes you buy. I use a Brother P Touch one for each side (narrow) to put what's in it.

Put that pillowcase in a frame as a family heirloom. You can include photos, the story of why it was made, etc on the front or tucked inside the back.

Costco has a multi layer metal shelving rack to put totes on. You could make something similar in wood.

No.bullets are good for years. My cousin blew off two fingers (in the late 50' ) from a wwii shell my uncle had brought home.
Roxie, put the john deer suspenders in your Halloween stuff. He could be a farmer scarecrow at Halloween, donate that fold up bed. Or give to homeless vets program
Label your totes! I have done it and it makes everything so much easier!

You are lucky to have the Summer Tanagers. They are such pretty little birds. So are the Yellow Warblers. We do have the Warblers in NW Pa.

hi guys greetings from the UK. I love watching your activities. May I suggest that you might consider investing in one of those shipping containers. lots of room for storage and not likely to get blown away in a storm. you could even install lighting in it. keep up the hard work and looking forward to watching the rebuilding of the pole barn.
A shipping container would be a nice permanent structure to put behind the house at the edge of woods and paint it the same color as your other buildings.

Y'all accomplished a lot in 1 day. I ALWAYS hated clean out days. I find myself wanting to throw everything away but will keep pieces of solder 1 inch long and use them one day or another when I work electronics like radios.
Hey if the Harley fridge works you can put it in Thunderdome to put drinks in for Wyatt to get when he's out there.
I thought they had a mini fridge in their between the computers

We cut up old clothing and use them for rags around the house

I use masking tape/ painters tape to write what is in the totes. front and on the sides ...just so I can stack them in two different ways. It saves time and you find your stuff quicker. 🎉🎉 Just a thought.

Hello Rox and Ant glad you were able to get a filter for your water. High iron in water content leads to an overload which can cause diabetes, hemochromatosis, stomach problems, and nausea. It can also damage the liver, pancreas, and heart.

This video was so much fun! It was cool that you gave us some stories on some of the sentimental keepers. The box stoe was hilarious. Back in my day, we had a swap meet every Saturday, May - Oct, in a big field in town, with all kinds of booths. I went every week. Looking forward to the pole barn being done and watching you set it up to suit.

Good signs.. a Harley area in the pole barn. As far as the pole barn, build it as big as you can and leave an area where you can build on. Work shop never big enough. Leave a space for your Uber and lift, couple of Harleys, wood shop, maybe a car in a storm. Harley shop good idea, in and out doors so you don't have to back it out. Electric to all. Organizers for the greenhouse
Going through storage is something that needs to be done from time to time.

My son still has his bear that his aunt gave him when he was born in 1973. It reminds me of yours but it’s a darker brown.

Paris has a farmer’s market every Saturday on the courthouse square. They have a good bit of stuff.
A patio well shed would be great for a bike barn.
Bin stores are usually returns from Amazon that are palletized and then they sell the whole pallet of random items in an auction form to stores like the one you were in

Need to slap masking tape or some sort of labels on those totes...like pool...etc so you can easily see it .help not get stuff mixed up in totes and find things to use.
If you go to The Rusted garden he has a video on getting rid of squash bugs. I dont have a garden so did not check to see what he does. Hope you find out how to control those nasty bugs.

Before Covid there was a few bin places here in Ohio but mostly resellers go there looking for items to sell at flea markets
Anthony if you want a bigger flea market you have to go to bigger cities , smaller communities have smaller markets
I think you should keep the rollaway bed or the frame, they come in handy.

It's nice to explore old memories. Good luck with the new build. What type of work did you both do before you left Nevada? It's interesting to hear about the professions of homesteaders. You hate Walmart, I love Walmart, I do comparison shopping and Wal-Mart wins everytime. It is very good for my needs. Most small towns have local markets one day a week either at a church or town square. All the locals bring their vegetables, eggs, beef, soaps, etc.. Need to get there early, they usually sell out. Ours is on Wednesday thru September.
