Aw man…. I know the feeling! I’m in Hawaii right now skimming the ocean and lava rocks! I’m so happy you’re sharing these videos as few know the agony of defeat and the rush of success! This is my favorite YT channel by far!
It's amazing how pumped you can get from long range, I only go half the distance and still have the same reaction, especially in a new spot. I find it just as exciting as hitting a small gap close when attempting to freestyle or power looping through some trees . Loved the ice cave by the way, go for it or go home!
Truly an epic flight! I've almost wet my pants watching you flying through that ice bridge. Sweet that you could see the mountain goats and still kept your distance. Thanks for sharing this amazing video! 🔥🙌🔥
6:22 Ahhh, it was very dangerous! a couple of times I also decided on similar, although no, it doesn't look like tricks, (I'm far from such), but I also lost touch for a second, knowing that I would come up later. And, it gives a ton of stress and pleasure!
That was super cool how the bigger goat was trying to shield the smaller one from view. Also want to mention again that your spot is absolutely breathtaking and your flights highlight how beautiful it is. They should use your shots in tourism videos.
Absolutely stunning scenery and amazing flying bud! I was on the edge of my seat in that ice bridge. Just got into drones. Now I'm definitely getting a long range fpv! Cheers from a neighbor to your west!
I love that you pulled off the ice bridge flying blind! Epic! I also love that you respected the mountain goats and didn't want to bother them. You're a great ambassador for the hobby.
Fantastic, I just wanted to fly half as far. I don't even have any lion yet. That's a great looking mountain to fly. I have been wanting to fly, Mont Lassen, Mtn Shasta in CA. Great FRAKEN dive. Thanks for the video.
Oh, look at the goats for a bit, who cares. They won't get too stressed as long as you don't hassle them. :) Anything that brings out the beauty of nature helps nature, I feel.
Awesome adventure! It's great to have such a big "tank" with you - with enough MAH to come back in case of a detour :) Especially if you already lost a whole copter there already! I tested the iFlight 8000mah 6S 21700 packs the other day. 890g - my Foxeer Aura7 flies a little like a bus with it - but on the other hand - high windgusts cannot push you around so easily if your copter weighs a ton ;) Have you considered using the DJI O3 now? Your adventure would be so much more epic for YOU - whilst flying already with the sharpness of live feed. Yes - analog can get you a few km more - but this was already quite far here - and it could have been done with O3. Plus: if you can take a bit of a compromise - you can use the O3 footage and save 150-170g of gopro (if you dont use a naked one). anyhows - just wanted to say high on your great vid, greets, Mario
Hey Mario, I'm already on it. I've got an 03 cinematic 7.5" build that I'm flying based on a new frame of mine. Ya it flys heavy with 6s2p 21700, I really like it with 6s2p 18650's, it's just about the perfect amount of mAh for long range flights but still nice agility.
@@FalconRadFPV Hey, great to hear that you already enjoy O3. 6S2P with 18650 sounds reasonable and like a good compromise! O3 tip: forget the rocksteady option. For me it produces micro shakes that are not there in the DVR view ;) So Rocksteady off and Gyroflow later! Thanks for your awesome adventures, I gotta watch a few of your other vids now ;)
Great video, that feeling is exactly what long-range mountain surfing is all about, pure intense adrenaline! If you attempted that ice bridge with DJI/WS it possibly would have frozen/disconnected... I only trust Analog/Hdzero for these sorts of flights. On that note, didn't you get a DJI setup a while back to test? Either way, awesome trip, those mountain goats were so cool, cheers bud!
I'm just going through the details of a long range 7". After loving the GEPRC Mark 4 flight characteristics in a 5", I decided to build a 7" of the same frame and will attempt Li-on cells/packs for longer flight times and distance. How far away were you when the video went out? I miss BC and the mountains to explore like this. Maybe time to move home. Lol.....dude you're brave....flying distance AND over water all the way................beautiful footage of that glacier.....the thing with long range is sometimes you are so far away you never know if you're going behind an object that will kill your video and result in a heartache.
I'm working on building a 6" 6s build which i'd love to work towards doing some mountain exploring with - can you reccommend what batteries I might want to look for getting? I'm UK based but any advice would be awesome!
Thanks very much. Molicel P28A i used two 6s packs at once, it gives amp handling ability as a reasonable weight, with enough mAh to go far enough for most mountain flights.
Thanks for the comment! Check out the quads and gear playlist on my youtube page, there are videos about my control link and video setup. All the parts on the quad are listed down below in the description.
I just subscribed I am from India and really like these long range fpv drone videos of yours and also when you keep talking and explaining while flying drone meanwhile.
excellent except for the musical distraction...want to hear you better but I toned out the 'tuns' enough to focus on you because it's you...anyone else I would've exited minutes into the feed...great flight and footage!! still waiting on motors and a Tango II pro to get your (my) bird of the same into the air!!
why do you not use an external tripod mounted antenna? your tx antenna is pointed downwards. i sit for my flights as you do and found much more range using a TBS stick antenna, which sits on a camera pod next to me, with an RG178 three foot cable from the mambo tx.
Actually the TX antenna is pointed vertically. Holding it down by my knees doesn't affect it at all as long as there is nothing IN FRONT of it. I don't think I have ever had a failsafe when using the TrueRC 915 TX antenna, its a great antenna.
I love this! 🙌🤮 mate i literally jumped up out my seat when you went under the ice bridge at the top 😱 gotta love analogue though how its so predictable like you knew the feed was gunna go :) top work man 👌👌🤙
Nice! Super cool to see goats. We have a herd above our place but I've never seen them on a flight. Sadly, that herd is getting picked off by cougars and will likely be gone in the near future.
That would be awesome! With a good camera this spot would look amazing. I'd love to see footage from here with a good lens instead of the gopro fishbowl.
Man im on the fence about spending money on dogital and the new airunit for a long range 7 inch (then being in debt for 50 years) or just sticking with good old analogue. No idea what to do lol. Fantastic video tho
Everything I've posted up to this point was flown with analog. The digital video for sure looks nicer in the goggles but it's not an absolute game changer like everyone makes it out to be. Anything you can do with digital you can do with analog. The big difference is that small branches without leaves on them are a bit easier to see, also distant background details are easier to make out in the goggles. In my opinion, if you afford it, it's a nice upgrade. But if you stick to analog it's not going to hold you back unless you plan on doing long range flights in which you fly tight spots in close proximity to trees and bushes.
wow, that was an epic adventure, the falls were just wonderful, the mountain goats were pure hollywood, and the ice bridge......lets face it they were a sanitation hazard hehehe. brilliant stuff, you got the shots under severe pressure.
Sorry I think you are mistaken, DJI does look amazing but analog easily beats it for range. You're welcome to stick to buying the bind n fly drones that you're obviously used to. Anyone out there with a RAD Li-ion that doesn't like it and wishes they bought a bind n fly instead? This guy would love to hear about it.....
You need to be running a setup that does not pull too many amps. After you know how many amps you build will need you can choose a li-ion battery that can provide the required power. Li-ion is best for easy going flights, they won't work well for fast or high energy flights.
when I adjust they don't go out of the range of the helical antennas. You can see the video goes fuzzy right as I level out the quad to take my hands off the sticks and it gets better as soon as I pitch forward to begin flying again. Having a big long range battery in front of your VTX antenna will affect you video if you are out at range. If you are close by it won't make any difference.
No just for short and a bit of mid range. I'm scared about losing video with DJI and waiting 6 to 8 seconds for the system to reestablish a video link.

quite a risky flight. Probably got some adrenaline)
although for me as a fixed wing pilot, 1.5 km range is a close distance
Also what vtx and receiver are you using?

WOW, that was seat clenching... I think I ripped the seat from gripping it so hard! Crazy flying there 🐐🐐🐐
Thank so much Brandon!
Guy over here looking like he wearing the cyberpunk version of googly glasses...
The colour on the dvr looks way better then on the gopro, maybe you can tweak some setting. Very nice rescue by the way.
I think long range fpv pilots have the firmest butts.... because from all the squeezing we do. lol Another nice flight. Aloha.
Running 8" on 7" motors 6S4P 18650 so gets me 12aH
I have run 6s2p 21700 8aH

I would suggest a single 6s1p li-ion battery, probably 21700 size if you're going 3 or 4 km out. An 18650 pack will do fine for 2km out or less.
Bro that's was nuts! Amazing

Yes that's right, conformal coated all the electronics.
what are the directional antennas that you are using to receive video? I'm so sorry if I'm just not seeing them linked in the description 😬

What Kind of Module do you use on you taranis ? and how many Milliwatt?
I'm using an Xlite TX for now, it has the V2 nano module, usually set to 500mW.
