- Welcome to the latest MoDXtra: Games & Collectibles action figure review. In this instalment we're taking a look at the new G.I. Classified Series Cobra Shadow Tracker.
In my older age I have come to LOVE the more idiosyncratic characters that GI Joe Classified are bringing us from the deep history of GI Joe, and while initially a bit unsure about Shadow Tracker (This guy came along at a time when I wasn't all that engaged with GI Joe stuff) I was intrigued by the crazy, badass, hunter-killer aesthetic of this dude and had to get the figure in hand!
This is a THOROUGH review. It will involve a brief unboxing of Shadow Tracker, an overall view of the figure, and then some detailed thoughts around his aesthetic, articulation, and accessories. (My action figure review Triple A's LOL) Does Shadow Tracker vibe off enough menace? How well do those masks fit? Is the Zartan re-use really obvious? What type of animal skull is that? All the most important questions answered...
(Spoiler! I've got no idea what animal skull Shadow Tracker is wearing!)
Its exciting to have a continued focus on GI Joe Classified on the channel, and its my hope that if you've been thinking of picking up a Shadow Tracker of your own my thorough review will help you make your decision.

Great Review. Although, I wouldn’t be that scared to run into him…. Now that I know he’s a Patrick Starfish fan… we’d have something in common! ST is definitely a unique figure! I look forward to getting mine!

Awesome review Chris! Like you I rolled the dice on this one not having any attachment to the character. And it paid off. He looks great and the accessories are brilliant.
He's a total badass. I'm increasingly falling more in love with the more idiosyncratic figures of late. This dude has got so much personality and tells a total story in how he looks
I kind of want to take the Endor scene I made and change it into a campfire scene for Shadow Tracker in front of a campfire sharpening his axe with maybe a GI Joe hanging from a snare
Well the shadow tracker was a former range viper that went native and became his own person
I had a tough time getting the bow in his hand as well. I learned from others on the Internet that using heat will soften the hand up and make it pliable enough to put the bow in his hand without risking breaking the thumb off.
Yep - that seems to be the way to go, it's hella tricky. I gave the ol' hair dryer trick a go on it and its been better since for sure.

I just got my Shadow Tracker, Wolfe Spider and Tunnel Rat today, I could’ve did without them, they were an impulse buy

Looks menacing. Though my personal take is that every classified figure should have atleast a sidearm pistol for real situational gameplay. I mean, come on you cant beat someone with a machine gun only firing arrows from corners or banging headon with your axe.
Overall, a very nice figure..probably close to a deluxe in my opinion and certainly one of the QC done well.

It's the menacing vibes of this guy for sure that's the USP. I think you're right though - a sidearm for every figure would be appropriate. I mentioned that when I got Bazooka - it just makes sense :)

While I do like the Masks he comes with, they should've goven him more weapons, ones unique to his style since apparently he distaste guns. As he comes, he seems too similar to Storm Shadow.

@@MoDXtraGC No problem man, as for favorites, there's So Many: Stalker, Commando Snake Eyes, Major Bludd, Rock n Roll, Shockwave, H.I.S S Tank and Dragonfly, jus to name a few.
I think unlike Shooter he’s greatly helped out by that cool factor. Even if you don’t know how he is, he looks really cool so he’s appealing anyway and doesn’t come across as just a generic person.
Exactly that, and that is 100% what's happened here for me. He is sooooo far from generic, I love it! So much personality!

The skull on his shoulder looks like a cat skull probably from the panther whose pelt is dangling off his bumb and yes a panther is just a hyper melanated jaguar........the more you know🌈⭐
...and now I know. And knowing is half the battle. ;)
Although it's not 100%, that's essentially a lion skull.

If you put a laser cannon on his shoulder, he be a straight up PREDATOR rip off, just to get your $25 bucks... Wow
This figure is a pass for me, but I appreciate the rundown. Seems like a solid figure overall, the general feel just doesn't really work for me and I have no nostalgia for him. Kind of funny seeing him next to Zartan and Zaranna; he really does seem like a bit of a mix between ninja and dreadnok.
That's cool man. Horses for courses on this one. Glad, if nothing else, my overview has helped affirm your decision to pass.
I've had him out with the Dreadnoks quite a bit - he really works in that space.
I'll stick with the 3.75 Tru exclusive... this one is fugly
