    This is exactly what I was looking for. My hair is getting thin & I recently had it cut short so this hat will be perfect for me. Decades ago I made a similar one, yet no longer have it, or the instructions. ☮️💞🙏🏼

    I’ve been sewing many years but never made a lining. It Intimidated me for some reason. You made it seem so simple! Thank you. Wonderful directions🌷 I have thick hair so most newsboy hats would be too small for me. I’m enjoying making my own. I love your fabric!

    Thanks for this! It took me a couple of tries. I was using a stretchy material, no backing , on the first one, and well, it didn't turn so well. The second try was much better with a little heavier material and, well I'm wearing it and it looks good. I'm a retired 66 year old man, and thought I'd try give sewing a try. Thanks again!

      Hello Stewart, it's so wonderful that you've started sewing. Such a great activity! I'm incredibly pleased that you have succeeded in making the cap and wearing it now. I always wear my own creations with pride. I hope you do too. All my wishes to you for many more own creations and fun making them. All the best. Katharina

    Hi , thank you for sharing, love your tutorial . I have a question , how much fabric I needs for adults or children? And do I need yo measure the forehead size before cutting the band? Thank you.

    • @KatsSewingAdventures
      @KatsSewingAdventures  4 года назад

      Hi, thank you. You need about 50cm x 100cm of outer fabric, 30cm x 80cm of lining and 25cm x 25cm of interfacing. For children a little less depending on the head size. And please measure your head before you cut the farbic. To make the cap pattern you need the head circumference.

    I made one of these, and it was great, but you never said, what we have to do, with the hole at the top, of both the outer and inner material? Could you please explain?

    • @KatsSewingAdventures
      @KatsSewingAdventures  3 года назад

      It's a very small hole of about 1mm. From the outside you sew on a covered button, like I did. From the inside you don't need to pay attention to this hole, because it's barely visible.

      ...ich nähe bei diesen Mützen außen einen großen Schmuckknopf an, innen nähe ich einen kleineren Knopf dagegen, so verrutschen die beiden Stofflagen auch nicht und sieht witzig aus...

    Hate to say it, it doesn't look like a vintage cap. It looks like a modern cap with the top of a vintage cap sewn on. It is a corduroy baker boy hat. I don't want to sound mean tho, you seem to know what you were doing! Much better than I could do.

    Can this measure can be apply for a 5 - 6 years old boy. For what age is this hat for, can you please say it. ! I LOVE THE WAY YOU EXPLAINED IT BUT YOU DONT SAY FOR WHAT AGE, BOY / GIRL OR ADULT????

    • @KatsSewingAdventures
      @KatsSewingAdventures  4 года назад +2

      Thank you!
      The measurements I took for the cap are for an adult, more for a woman with an average head. If you want to make it for a kid, I would reduce the measurements. Measure the head circumfernce and divide it by 8 like in the video. But don't make a 20cm vertical line, try about 14-15cm. Instead of 6cm make a mark 4-5cm above the horizontal line. The second horizontal line I would reduce too, instead of 11cm, I would try 8-9cm.
      I have no childern, so it's difficult for my to value the size of an 6 year old. So I can't promise that my recommended measurements will work. Perhaps you need to try what are the best measurements. Good luck 🍀!

    Hallo Katharina, ich liebe dein Tutorial. Ich bin gerade in der Ausbildung zur Maßschneiderin und möchte so eine Kappe für mein Modenschau Modell nähen. Leider finde ich kein Schnittmuster für das Kappenschild und ich besitze leider keine Kappe wo ich es von abnehmen könnte. Meine Frage ist nun, wäre es möglich dein Schnittmuster für das Schild online zu stellen oder mir die Maße zu geben? Alles Liebe, Marleen🌷

      Hallo Marleen, entschuldige bitte die späte Antwort. Leider habe ich keine Möglichkeit mein Schnittmuster online zu stellen, aber unter folgendem Link findest du eine Auswahl an kostenlosen Schnittmustern zu ähnlichen Mützen www.guidepatterns.com/diy-tutorials-to-make-a-newsboy-cap.php. Da sollte für dich was dabei sein.

    hi, is a unisex? or just for ladys? do you can help me to make a peaky blinders cap?? thanks

    • @KatsSewingAdventures
      @KatsSewingAdventures  4 года назад +1

      Hi, that's unisex, you just have to measure your head circumference and follow the instructions. I also can recommend a great tutorial by Toni Bernier ruclips.net/video/ZxV6ehxDlBM/видео.html. He shows in detail how he make a peaky blinders cap.

    If you have thick locs how much do you have to add to the measurements?

    • @KatsSewingAdventures
      @KatsSewingAdventures  3 года назад

      If you have thick curls just measure your head circumference with your curls. For a wider cap top add 0,5-1,0cm.

    Und was ist wenn man kein Cap hat, wie macht man dann den Sichtschutz. Also für das Band Kopfumfang durch 2 und das im Bruch ? breite 3 cm plus 2 mal Nahtzugabe?

    • @KatsSewingAdventures
      @KatsSewingAdventures  3 года назад

      Den Kappenschirm kannst du frei Hand probieren. Oder dich an einem Kreis orientieren, das fällt mir am leichtesten. Das Kopfband muss deinem Kopfumfang entsprechen, wenn es genäht ist. Wenn du es im Bruch legst, dann den Kopfumfang durch 2. Und die Nahtzugabe brauchst du an beiden Enden, also + 2x Nahtzugabe. Die Breite kannst du nach Geschmack machen. Aber auch da die Nahtzugabe nicht vergessen.
