She’s a work in progress. We didn’t get too far on the paint job. Wait for the upholstry to come in and the paint to finish. She’ll be looking good again.
I’d recommend looking up “roll and tip” painting. Also, those canvas snaps should just unscrew from the hull. When you put them back you may want to add a tiny bit of marine sealant.
Total boat products are good. May want to talk to your supplier about mixing and spraying techniques. I had a 420 dancer "90" Restriped it with the Sea Ray black and gold scheme. I used a heat gun to remove the decals. Worked like a charm. Just keep it moving and don't let it burn the decals once you get the hang of it it will take glue and everything. Looking forward to your next video.z👍
Spraying is actually pretty easy, masking is the toughest part. There are a few really good tutorials on youtube as well. Since you plan on selling this, you really should sand down the top and spray it as well, at least on the parts that aren't 'nonslip' of the gelcoat.
As a bit of constructive criticism.. there's just too much talking and not enough of the actual work we're here to see. I'd suggest making a shorter version for RUclips and a longer version in a Patreon or something for the interested.
You just ruined that boat by using a paintbrush. I can't believe you half-assed painting like that instead of using a spray gun or hiring a professional painter. SMH.
The 380 sun sport is a special boat. Low production. Unique seating area. 1/2 cruiser, 1/2 speedboat. This video brought a tear to my eye.

always wanted a sea rat
Man hired a professional painter 🧑🎨
Only the best
i have the brochure from 1996 with this in it.
You should rename the boat stinky pinky, lol
Looks like you used a steel wool as a brush. A pressure pot would be the best to paint with.
Oh yeah. If I knew what I knew now. Needs a redo
Love the videos. Questiion: Why did you tape off the hardware instead of just removing it all? Not second guessing you - I'm asking out of ignorance.
Out of our own ignorance and laziness. If I do it again which might be this winter to add another coat I may remove all the hardware instead

Going to spray the sides and roll the top. I’ve decided to keep the boat at least another year.
Thought you were gonna wrap it?
Still might idk yet
Topside should be gray NOT white - reduces glare. The only thing worse would be topside metal flake.
Why wouldn't you just spot repair the damage and polish it?
We tried. It was too far gone. The outside was all ate up. No gelcoat left hardly.
I bought a boat kinda like this. Kinda following
Kinda following?
Where is next video
Working on it now. It was a long winter.
Need more vids
Just released another today!
Man get better at filming the project, tuff too see you shoot it so fast. No detail on the before or after.. Dig the content

Hey thank you Jon. I will definitely take that advice into editing. Less talking more action!
Jon B...completely agree!!

Went back and sprayed it. Working on that video now.
The worst painting I have seen!
Trust me, it gets better
@@BoatRestorationByBen Shouldn't be painting it...Compounding should bring the gel coat back to original...
I enjoy your channel but the repetition of what you're going to do takes up most of the time in the video, Way too much talk and little action.
What do you suggest for documentation of the action? It’s just me so it’s difficult without a second hand to document the actual “how to” or action.
